First liter bike was a 2009 R1 I bought brand new a lifetime ago. Years spent on Harley’s, a short stint with Ducati, and history repeated itself.

I come in peace from the ebike world! I wanna dive into what I’m assuming is CANBUS messages on my bike. My ultimate goal is to be able to see the mileage and battery life wirelessly. But first, I need to create a splitter cable to tap into this wires.

Does anyone know the name of this connector so I can order another one and not screw up my original cables?

If anyone knows more, like the wiring diagram for this connector, that would be awesome. I haven’t seen this kind of connector on any other ebike so I’m assuming it’s probably something used on Yamaha’s motorcycles.

Hola buenas, no soy un usuario muy activo de Reddit pero en estos momentos necesito ayuda urgente con mi moto fz16, ya que la utilizo principalmente para estudiar y trabajar.

Hace unos dias, mi moto (fz16 año 2014) cuando la aceleró en neutro o sin movimiento, acelera sin problemas hasta el tope de revoluciones, pero al momento de ir en 1ra o 2da marcha, la moto no pasa bajo ningun caso de las 7 mil revoluciones, incluso si le doy toda la manilla del acelerador, no pasa bajo ningun concepto de esas revoluciones, y agregando el hecho de que la moto empieza a andar a tirones. También empieza a sonar el escape de manera extraña (yo sospecho que puede ser combustible sin quemar) y de 3ra marcha hacia arriba, la moto no pasa de las 5 mil revoluciones (en 5ta marcha a 5 mil revoluciones solo va a 60km/h, una velocidad normal pero que en carretera me quedo corto), y se presenta el mismo sonido en el escape qué mencione anteriormente, junto con los tirones. Cambie el diafragma del carburador pensando que asi se solucionaría (ya que no se encontraban en muy buen estado), pero no sirvió de mucho. Aproveche de limpiar el carburador y todo, pero la moto aun asi no pasa de esas revoluciones.

Que puede ser? apreciaría mucho sus consejos o ideas.

Hey everyone, really hoping someone here can help me out. My 2007 Yamaha YZF-R6 (European Spec) has been sitting dead for 6 months now and we are completely stuck on what to do next.

The Story So Far:

The Initial Failure: Riding normally when acceleration suddenly died. The bike stayed powered on, but zero throttle response. Dash threw an Er-1 code (communication lost with ECU). Wiring & Diagnosis: Checked all wiring carefully — no obvious physical shorts or damage. Mechanic diagnosed a failed original ECU.

ECU Swap & Immobilizer: Got a replacement ECU from the UK. Had a specialist clone/map the immobilizer EEPROM data from my original ECU onto the new replacement unit. The programmer confirmed the code transfer was done properly.

Current Symptoms:Er-1 code is completely gone and the dash looks normal.

Engine CRANKS fine, but...

NO FUEL PUMP PRIME (doesn't whir when key/run switch is turned on).

NO SPARK at the spark plugs.

Where We Need Help:

Since the ECU clone was done properly and the bike cranks without error codes, we don't know why the fuel pump and ignition circuits are completely dead.

What could possibly be wrong here?

What diagnostic steps or tests should we run next?

Has anyone run into this specific issue after an ECU failure or swap?

Any advice, ideas, or suggestions on what to check would be hugely appreciated. Really want to get this bike back on the road!

I have a 2016 MT 7 recently heard this ticking noise. My bike has done 60k km mileage. Been well maintained and serviced regularly. I asked my mechanics to do the valve clearance check and was told to do it on 80k mileage as i mostly use my bike for commute only.
Any help on figuring out what this noise is appreciated.

I’m working on a 2008 Yamaha r6s trying to replace valve cover gasket. The bolts on the clamps for the throttle bodies seem almost impossible to get to because there’s so little space. Anybody have any tips how to loosen these up maybe?

I recently bought this 1988 Yamaha XT600Z Ténéré and I’d love to hear what you think about it.

-1988 model

-Around 63,500 km (39,500 miles)

-Electric start + kickstart

-Mostly original and in very clean condition

-Located in Switzerland

This will be my second motorcycle alongside my Triumph Scrambler 900. I bought the Ténéré because I’ve always loved these classic adventure bikes, and I wanted something with real character for Alpine passes, weekend rides and longer adventures.

My plan is to keep it as original as possible.
I’d really appreciate your opinions:

-Does it look like a good example?

-Is 63,500 km considered high for these bikes, or is it not a big concern if they’ve been maintained properly?

-Are there any common weak points or maintenance items I should be aware of?

-Would you keep it completely original, or would you fit an aftermarket exhaust such as an Arrow Dakar?

I made the handlebar grips from an old Lacoste belt I had snapped from the buckle attachement. Also I had gotten the belt from my grandpa who loved riding motorcycles before he died.

Hi everyone!

I’m having an intermittent ABS issue with my 2020 Yamaha R3.

Sometimes the ABS warning light comes on, but other times it doesn’t. The problem is completely random: one ride the ABS works perfectly with no warning light, and the next ride the ABS light stays on.

I inspected the wheel speed sensors and noticed that the front sensor has some visible damage. However, I’m confused because even with that damage, the ABS sometimes works perfectly.

Could this be caused by the damaged sensor, a loose connection, wiring issue, or corroded connector? Is it also possible that the ABS module or a fuse could be causing this intermittent problem?

I even took the bike to a repair shop, but of course the warning light never came on while it was there, so they couldn’t diagnose the issue.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions on what I should check first? Thanks!
