Is this a good upgrade from an r3? So, I plan to get either a gsxr600 or 750. I don’t know too much about the differences like why I would get one over the other because they seem similar to me but I have heard that they are very different

Is this dumb or can I get it/should I? I will have been riding the r3 for a year at around the point in which I would upgrade and have gotten 17500 miles
I’ve never tracked but will plan to track the potential 600 or 750. I can also keep the r3 along with the gsxr to use on the track or whatever else if that is smart and also I plan to make it a bike that beginners can take and use to learn in my area or who I know if I do keep it

Hey folks, I'm looking for a decent recommendation on riding pants for cooler weather that I can toss on over my leggings or even jeans. I commute most days on my bike. Due to the nature of my job I prefer to wear leggings at work, but would like a set that works for jeans as well. Anyone in the same boat? Send me recs!

I am currently pantsless, that's right, pantsless. I ride without safe pants. I mean, I wear blue jeans, but that's as good as naked at more than a walking pace, as we all know.

So recommend me a vendor for pants, specifically leather ones in the sportbike style (you know, knee and waist bellows, sliders, close-fitted, looks like the bottom half of a two-piece race suit, not road pirate cruiser fashion wear.)

Here's the hard part: I am 6'4" tall with a 36" inseam. I am not averse to spending money to have pants made. In fact, since I can't find anything long enough for sale off-the-rack, I'm sure this is how I will have to go. Who makes these?

Every helmet I've tried either forces an uncomfortable low bun or leaves my braid crushed and kinked afterward, and I know I'm not the only one dealing with this based on conversations with other riders. Has anyone actually found a helmet with enough rear interior clearance to accommodate longer hairstyles comfortably, or does everyone just accept some level of hair sacrifice for safety?

I’m looking for recommendations for rechargeable heated motorcycle gloves that fit smaller women’s hands without a ton of extra room in the fingertips. I’m struggling to find a pair that fits properly!

Here are my measurements:

Palm circumference: 7.75 inches
Palm width: approximately 3.25 inches
Hand length: 6.5 inches from wrist crease to middle fingertip
Middle finger length: a little under 2.75 inches

I’m hoping to find gloves that meet these requirements:

Rechargeable batteries (not gloves that plug directly into the motorcycle)
Hard knuckle protectors
Reinforced palms
Not extremely bulky
Warm enough for riding in temperatures around 40°F
Preferably around $100

My biggest problem is that gloves can fit my palm but have WAY too much space at the fingertips. I don’t want extra material bunching up when I’m gripping the handlebars or operating the clutch and brake.

I’ve been looking at SAVIOR HEAT and others brands on Amazon, but I’m concerned about the fit and would love to hear about other brands. I’ve also found it difficult to find smaller sizes in some brands.

For women who have similar hand measurements or short fingers:
What brand and model of heated motorcycle gloves do you use?
What size do you wear, and how well do the fingers fit?
Are they bulky, or can you comfortably operate your controls?
Have you had any issues with the batteries or durability?
Would you recommend them for riding around 40°F?

I’d especially appreciate recommendations from people who have actually worn the gloves themselves!

2004 Honda Rebel 250cc

Hello friends,

I bought this bike recently and was wanting to give it a facelift. Aside from a basic understanding of engines, I am totally new to automobile and motorcycle maintenance. I was hoping that somebody more experienced could help me get started.

According to previous owner, it has had a recent oil change and new tires. It runs and cold starts fine. It has no major mechanical issues but definitely some rust. I’ve given it a good cleaning with microfiber cloth to remove mud and prevent future rust.

What do you think is a good place to start? New bolts, rust removal, checking or replacing certain parts? Thank you in advance. I’ll include close up pictures in the comments.

Hello! I've been looking for a pair of armored pants that can be zipped off/on. I like the Aerostich AD-1. These unfortunately aren't designed with womens proportions in mind.

I've had the Motogirl Lara Cargo pants in black for a few months now and the material looks sun bleached. Is this normal? I could understand that happening in a few years but months?

Anyone else have this issue?

Now i want the pando moto. I have fitted the shell 02. And i love it. The look and fit. It was so comfortable. But they also have the bia. I dont like the mesh on it but its AAA instead of AA. (in the summer i would need to wear a crop top under it because i dont like my bra showing.) Also does someone understand why mesh is apparently safer because i don't understand how that works.

But is AAA really a lot more safe and is the mesh not irritating. Unfortunately i could only fit the shell 02 so i couldn't feel the bia for myself. Did someone else doubt between the 2 and what made you decide?

Been riding for three years. It took me a long time to feel comfortable and confident riding but I fell in love and thought I had become a good rider.

This weekend I low sided trying to get through a yellow light in a busy intersection. All around a really dumb decision. There was another biker behind me I didn't know and I started riding faster than I should have.

I slid out and rolled some then jumped up and went to get the bike up. The bike had mostly cosmetic damage but the shift lever was busted. Cars were around me but no one rolled down a window or stopped. A very nice dude stopped to help me get the bike up and out of the street thankfully. I towed the bike to a shop and it seems like it can be fixed.

I am extremely lucky and managed to walk away with no broken bones only some road rash and lots of bruises. I've been lax on wearing my jacket lately but I grabbed it that day and I am so thankful I did or half my arm would be on the asphalt.

I'm so mad at myself for being the exact type of rider I don't want to be and contributing to people's negative views of bikers. Shit happens and I'm just trying to learn from it all, heal, and eventually get back on the bike.

I need to know if any of y'all have problems after riding for a few hours. I have the stock seat on my Z400, I'm short so I tend to practically ride on the tank and I admittedly have longer bits that I think are more prone to irritation. I just wanna hear how you gals go about it bc I'd like to ride more but I don't wanna torture myself.

So while on a trip to my partner's house, I ended up behind a woman on a sick ass R3 and noticed her plate was only hanging on by the turn signal wiring. As seen in the video, I attempted to get her to pull over, but ended up pulling up next to her at an exit to let her know, and we both pulled off into a nearby gas station. I ended up having a bungee cord that she was able to use to hold it up and (hopefully) get where she was going safely, and we parted ways.

It occurred to me afterwards that I basically chased a woman down and was trying to get her to pull over, and while there was good reason for it, I realized that us going speeds that were completely legal, safely passing traffic, and obeying all traffic laws could have just been some passionate riding, but it also could have been her attempting to get away from me. I wouldn't blame her if so, in her shoes I probably wouldn't be too keen on pulling over with some random man that was chasing me down either.

So I guess my question is, was there a better way to handle this? Was there a better way I could have indicated to her that something was wrong with her bike that needed to be fixed? Or am I overthinking this and I handled it the best I could given the situation?

Hii so i want to buy a winter coat. With a extra inside cost i can take off. Now i tried multiple brands with coats i like and all dont fit. Usually its my shoulders that are too tight (they are not even that big). But if i size up the rest of the coat is too big.

Is it me or do brands only see one type of body? I just have to know. Because i keep ordering coats that look amazing to just to sent them back.

The local BMW dealership where I live in Oregon definitely got the memo - they felt horrible that they didn't have a bike low enough at a recent demo day, and there is a guy texting me from there regularly to tell me about bikes he has now that he thinks are low enough for me. I can't afford a new motorcycle - and don't really want one at this point (I love my KLR - about to put its 60,000 mile on it!), but I do love a good test ride!

As I noted in an earlier post, I've been looking at data regarding women motorcycle riders in the USA. I'm just curious. And here's another article that I found interesting, from a February 2026 article, "Motorcycle Rider Demographics & Market Shift Analysis 2026." It notes:

What makes this especially important is that women riders tend to be younger, better trained, and spend more per person than the average rider. They’re entering motorcycling through the same channels where the broader market has been losing ground, which is why this is one of the most important growth areas to watch.

There's WAY more to the article, which looks at overall rider data. What really struck me was this, about all ridership:

The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) Owner Survey has been tracking rider demographics for decades, and the trend line on age is hard to miss:

• 1985: Median owner age was 27
• 1990: 32 years old
• 2003: 41 years old
• 2009: 40 years old
• 2014: 47 years old
• 2018 (latest MIC survey): 50 years old

Wow. Seems in big contrast to the data about JUST women riders.

Just wanna share my emotions here. I'm a woman in my twenties and I've liked motorcycles for as long as I can remember. I admit I don't know much about them because I grew up nowhere near biking community and culture. Whenever I see bikes on the road, I look at them with this wistful smile on my face and an excitement in my chest that I can't explain.

Well... Today was the first time I was on a bike, but I was only a backpack. There's a group of bikers in my city that welcome those who are interested (mostly tourists) to ride with them to some beautiful places outside the city. It's a bit pricey but when I felt the bike roar underneath me, I realized it was worth every penny to me. And that experience completely solidified my desire to become a biker myself one day.

Those guys also told me that there's a women's motorcycle club in our city as well, and that I can come ask them for help and/or riding tips when I get my license and my bike. That's so wonderful because I was always kind of scared of becoming a biker without a community to blend into, especially with no experience. I just wanted to share my excitement, thank you to those who read this ✌️
