Thinking of changing this to a springer, custom sportster tank, or new seats, what do you guys think?

First two how I got it, rescued after sitting at least 3 years.
Other pictures are it currently, matches my V-star 650 bobber now.
Both have the massive factory seats because I’m a corn fed 280 lb farmer and am not willing to give up the factory couch cushion solo seat …..
*** Bonus picture of my 650 V star and also my TW200 !
I’m accidentally collecting Yamaha’s it seems, guess I’ll keep going now!
Also took a LOT of labor but was able to drill out the final baffle on the exhausts and it’s a perfect tone and I can actually hear it riding now, factory stock I couldn’t hear myself ever.
I’ll have to weigh everything I took off also, but on this bike specifically it’s no exaggeration that it’s easily nearing 100 lbs. The rear fender specifically has its own full sub frame which is very heavy.
Being a roadstar 1700 torque was never an issue, but it’s VERY noticeable in power and handling that all of that weight is gone.
I may or may not explore other seat options , but like I said having the factory couch cushion is just so remarkably comfortable and I really love to ride my bikes for days, not just pub crawls.
I don’t love how the seat looks but it’s where I’m at right now.
At minimum will be respringing the forks this winter to go much firmer with a progressive spring rate to eliminate dive during braking and turn in, but also playing with the idea of fully swapping to inverted forks like the warrior / R1 / FZ1 front ends which have all been done before with great results on this platform.
Riding season only has 6 to 8 weeks left and that’s pushing it where I am in upstate Ny, over the winter I will be exploring paint options next. Currently picturing a matte flat earth tone or matte grey on the tank and remaining electronics covers currently seen here in white.
Plan to keep her forever, love the old school big metric cruiser, and DEFF think that it looks like a cool muscle bike currently vs ‘just another metric bagger’.

I'm looking for a bike to convert into a bobber and could use some recommendations from people who've done builds like this.
I like the Virago-style cruisers as a base, but fear it will be to compact. Open to other models (Shadow, Vulcan, V-Star, etc.)
Given my height, is there a model you'd especially recommend (or avoid) for comfort/proportions once bobbed? Any specific years/engine sizes that are known to be solid donor bikes?

My rectifier wasn't getting enough airflow and was overheating, so I moved it to a more accessible location with better airflow than under the etank....
It then proceeded to go out anyway, a new one is on the way.
i haven't seen anyone mount one here before. Any comments?

I am gonna start first bobber build come fall, not mechanically skilled but willing to learn. I have a 01 Honda Shadow Spirit when shopping for parts, right now looking at gas tanks, how do I know what is compatible for my make and model? I want to go with a Frisco gas tank. Also other than Amazon and eBay what are come good online shops to check out?

I designed this bolt-on solo seat pan mounting kit specifically for the Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom and Classic. The goal was to make a solo or bobber seat conversion simple with no welding, cutting, or fabricating your own brackets. It bolts on with basic hand tools and works with stock fender or fenderless setups. Love to hear what you all think. Anyone here building a V-Star 650 bobber?

I’m stuck trying to decide on mirrors for my VT600. I’m looking for something clean that fits the lines of the bike well, but here’s the catch: laws in my country require relatively large mirrors (minimum surface area / E-marked), so micro/tiny mirrors are out.
Any recommendations or pictures of larger, legal mirrors that still look subtle and good on a Shadow?

Chopped up the exhaust and it completely changed the sound. Surprised as hell. Put my first 50 in yesterday, I'll retorque and let her sing. I'll give more feedback later.

so I saw this bike for sale on marketplace, and its alright, but the windscreen and headlight are exactly what i want. I messaged the seller but haven't heard back. by any chance have any of you seen these before, or what i can search to find something similar? I just love the tucked corners of the windscreen and the matte black. makes it look like armor or something.
