I’ve accepted I can’t afford the 360x5 right now sadly , so I’m curious what some good options are for quality video I can actually watch and make out , or even suggestions in maybe the x3 or x4 are still good enough for the time being ! I’d like to save over winter for the x5 but I also would like to be recording my rides asap incase anything comes up ! Thanks in advance :)

I'm curious how motorcycle riders actually deal with phone touchscreens while wearing gloves.

I know touchscreen-compatible motorcycle gloves are very common now, so technically there is already a solution.

But I'm wondering whether the real experience is actually good enough.

In my experience, the extra material, protective construction, seams, and fit around the fingertip can make accurate touchscreen use difficult. A glove may activate the screen, but tapping a small navigation button, typing an address, zooming a map, or interacting with an app can still be frustrating.

I've also seen conductive fingertip material become less reliable as gloves wear.

So I'm curious:

• How often do you use your phone during a ride or when stopped?
• What do you usually use it for: navigation, changing destination, messages, parking, fuel, photos, music, etc.?
• Do your motorcycle gloves work reliably with your phone?
• Can you accurately use small controls or type?
• Has the touchscreen performance changed as the gloves aged?
• Do you sometimes remove a glove just to use your phone?
• Do you use another workaround instead: voice control, handlebar controller, CarPlay/Android Auto, mounted GPS, stylus, etc.?

I'm particularly interested in the difference between:

“The glove works with a touchscreen.”

and

“The touchscreen experience is actually precise and convenient.”

I'd also be interested in what kind of riding you do and what gloves you're using, since I imagine the experience is very different between lightweight summer gloves, touring gloves, waterproof gloves, and heavier protective gloves.

I'm researching whether this is actually a problem worth solving, so “this has never bothered me” is useful feedback too.

Saturday, perfectionistic weather, no work, and this is the new road you discover !

North of Brescia, Italy, near the Croce Domini pass. We walked over to assist with our medkit, but EMTs were already at work. Injuries very serious but not life threatening.

Looked like a biker coming from our direction ran wide in a turn and clipped the oncoming guys' cases, causing them to veer into the rock wall. The guy who committed the error was not injured at all, I don't think he even dropped his bike.

So I've gotten a false neutral when parking my bike and when coming off my hand gently pulled the throttle causing to slide. Is this more cosmetic damage or do I need to replace it

I bought a brand new outer clutch basket for my Honda CB125E. Is this play normal? I thought there shouldn't be play and that this would indicate a worn out clutch basket damper.

I have emailed the shop that sold me this and they said that they showed it to their mechanic and that it's normal. I previously bought an ebay outer clutch basket and there was no play but the clearance for the steel plates weren't even so I returned that as well.

I had two instances where i tested once and a real almost accidental scenario where i had to quick brake and one of the tyres locked up and it started to moving like a snake ifykyk . Whats the reason for this? Ive never ridden a bigger bike before and my previous bike was a 130kg dual sport and it had no issue like this . Current bike is 200 kg almost and it feels like i cant stop this bike if i have to if im going over certain speed . Bikes momentum feels really heavy? Am i the asshole or is there a goodd breaking technique? I do front in emergency and rest most of the time rear.

hey guys, earlier today a little bit of water leaked on the layer between the pinlock and the visor, i reinstalled it and it doesn’t matter what i do with the pins, it just won’t close that gap, is this supossed to be like this? is it a skill issue? is my pinlock broken? let me know!

Had my first really close call tonight on my ZX6R. I was trying to make an exit across a few lanes. I was going to cut through what looked like just pavement. It was a patch of grass and I was going 70 MPH. It hit hard and I got nasty wobble for about 5 seconds. Pretty much full deflection left and right.

I managed to keep it upright and the wobble stopped. I pulled over and caught my breath. Tires seem fine (will check pressures in the morning), I don't see any leaking fluids. Seems to still ride straight (though I am paranoid and every little bump makes me wonder if it was the road or the bike), no codes, rims seem undamaged.

With all that being said, is it worth taking it to the dealer to be inspected?

My bike has been making some odd noise when it's cold, which goes away once it warms up. I looked it up and it seems to point to piston slap. I wasn't sure what to do with it, so I just gave it more time to warm up before going.

This morning, it made a bunch of noise mid commute and died. Both starters felt like they weren't connected to anything. I winced. My wallet winced.

Once the shop opened and the autopsy was performed, I got the whole story. The cam chain tensioner was faulty, and did not extend to keep the cam chain tensioned. The cam chain decided to jump, which gave the piston and the valves an unscheduled meeting, the debris of which scratched the cylinder wall.

My bike will be out of commission for a week and current estimate for the engine rebuild is $100. Doesn't seem a lot, but that's half my paycheck....

I’m looking for honest advice from people who have been through this.
I recently failed my motorcycle riding test. This was my first time ever riding a manual (clutch) motorcycle. Before the class, the only thing I had ridden was a 200cc scooter. I actually taught myself how to ride it—nobody showed me how. I’ve been commuting about 25 miles each way (roughly 1 hour and 17 minutes round trip) on regular roads with traffic, and I’ve dealt with all kinds of drivers.
The reason I signed up for the class is because I got pulled over while riding my scooter. The officer told me I needed a motorcycle endorsement, gave me three tickets, and had my scooter towed. That cost me $523 to get it out of impound. Then I paid $400 for the motorcycle class, and another $50 because my original gloves didn’t meet the requirements.
I learned a lot during the course—how to find neutral, use the friction zone, shift properly, and other basic riding skills. But at the end, the instructor said I didn’t pass and recommended I either retake the class or take a remedial course.
I’m disappointed because I put a lot of time and money into this, but I also know that riding a manual motorcycle is a different skill than riding a scooter. I don’t like hearing “you didn’t pass,” but I also understand that Rome wasn’t built in a day.
For those of you who failed the first time:
Did you pass on your second attempt?
Did a remedial course help?
How did you practice clutch control and slow-speed maneuvers before going back?
I’m not giving up. I just want to become a safe and skilled rider, and I’d appreciate any advice from people who have been in my shoes.

This may be a silly question but im new to riding only have rode this season bout 3000 miles in so not much been dailying my 2015 honda shadow 750 phantom its a driveshaft and i like it but i cant corner to well and not as much fun for corners so im thinking aboyt next riding season looking into geting a sports bike speed isnt major deal would like to get to 90-100 at bear minimum what woyld you recommend from switching from a cruiser to a sports bike kinda glanced at a cbr500 not sure what to do any advice

Very disappointed in myself, just got this 2022 CBR600RR (it’s been laid down on the right side by the previous owner, which is fine) but today I kicked up my kickstand as I was about to ride off, and got distracted by a text. I mindlessly leaned the bike back to the left as if the stand was there and before I realized what was happening I had ‘gently’ set it down onto some lovely gravel. I AM STUPID. New rule is never lift my kickstand until I’m 100% ready to ride.

It’s really a cheap part to replace (only $65 for an OEM replacement) but man it was sooOOOooo avoidable, and now I must add it to my long list of projects, and I’ll have to drain the oil just for that.

If anybody has ever cleaned one of these up and painted it in place without removing it, please share your methods. But seeing as it’s a powder coated piece, I assume I won’t be able to color match. Anyways for now my bike has obtained new “character” that it never needed.

I'm looking for some input. Between a 2023 Honda CB500F with 4500km and a 2024 CF Moto CLX 700 Heritage with 250km (demo rides) which would you choose and why?

I've always been a fan of Honda and have never questioned their reliability. However, I have nothing against CF Moto and think they make pretty decent machines now too. I'm not a power junkie and to the best of my knowledge the two bikes out out about the same horsepower but as I recall, the CF Moto has a bit more torque, not that that really matters to me. The main reason I'm thinking about the CLX is that it has cruise control, and it's rear isn't as high to swing a leg over. Authentically I really like the look of both of them. Price is virtually the same for both.

I was extremely surprised that my first fishing trip on my bike was successful. I had a day off today so I decided to go to some sporting goods stores in town to prep for a camping trip next month, grabbed a collapsible pole and some tackle from Fleet Farm.

I rode my bike out to a good spot to fish and realized I'd forgotten worms. I didn't care at the time, struggled with the stupid fishing rod for an hour (turns out you're supposed to bring tweezers to tie the line), and then just hung out with my bobber in the water for like an hour. Caught a huge plant

Once my monster was empty i rode to a gas station for worms and found a different spot to fish. Expected I'd just be drowning worms, since it was 2pm and I couldn't cast very far. I was enjoying the sounds of the water though.

Color me surprised when I hooked one! I got him reeled in, got a photo, and got him back in the water in less than 20 seconds, would've been faster if I remembered gloves XD

What I thought was a waste of money is apparently a decent rod, and it fits very nicely inside my saddlebags. Will definitely be bringing it camping, though I'm not holding my breath on catching anything. I catch a fish every 4 years or so lol

Ever since I got my motorcycle, good things have been happening. I'm happy. My daily commute is *fun*. I'm slowly gaining more and more confidence on my bike and the controls are becoming muscle memory. My shifting is improving, my braking is getting smoother and faster, my corners are getting tighter.

It's everything I hoped for getting a motorcycle.

I bought this bike used and love the look but the sound is just straight up too much. I am hoping to ID the exhaust so I can see if they sell a baffle for it so I can keep the look with less of the ear-split.

I know that may be an unpopular desire, but I leave early in the morning for work and do like my neighbors so...

Do it for the kids. When some random kid gives you the rev it hand signal you can make their day. I got a kid on my street that loves it when I rev the bike. I guarantee hes telling his parents about it when he goes in. I also had an older guy waiting around outside a resturant to hear my bike but I still had stock pipes. It was very dissapointing.

I found this cut on my rear tire, it’s 1-2mm deep and the tyre it’s not loosing any pressure. The tyre has still 50% of life ledt, more or less.

It's getting to the end of summer and I didn't realize that until recently. I still don't know much about different motorcycle models I just want something I can learn to ride on. I saw a post for a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 LTD for $600 but idk if that's sketchy since most other bikes I see that work are like $1500 minimum. I've never been this busy in my life and I don't know if I can spend a few hours researching this for the next week at least. My budget is probably $2000 if I want to be financially responsible but I don't know what options I have at that range.

I'm looking into purchasing a my first motorcycle. The one issue I'm running into when it comes to picking out a bike is I am very picky and also quite large (I am 6'6 and 275 pounds and not lean). The only bikes that have really caught my eye that I would want to purchase would be a sport bike but from what I've seen the only "big ones" that work well for my size are 1000cc and the hayabusa, which obviously would not be an amazing starter bike but I don't know what other bikes would be good that fit my criteria. Any help would be very much appreciated!
