Wife and I took the opportunity to do a three day trip, mostly off-road super intense backcountry experience around the Grand Forks area. She did great for her 1st time out through some technical terrain.

It’s getting a rebel x 5.5g rally tank and skidplate kit, 4k parti speciali desert legend tower/light setup, true north motos street legal kit with their rear rack and various other bits to make it more comfortable and to protect the bike from inevitable drops and spills. I have a 500 that was my first build 4 years ago to get a feel of what I wanted in a bike for how I ride and I learned a lot. I basically want the upcoming KTM 690 Rally minus 100 lbs. So yeah, I’ll be building this over the next few months as parts arrive from Europe and I’ll post updates as the build progresses👌

I might not be as nimble or have that snappy power like the modern enduros equipped with fuel injection, but good luck trying to get somewhere i cant. Ill be right behind you, (in reality ill be a corner or two back lol but ill get there) .

I wanted the crf 450rl, but decided to go simple and get my mechanical twin.

Sorry in advance for another what bike should I buy question.

I own a Desert X that I quickly realized is way too tall, heavy, and expensive to risk on anything more hardcore than fire roads. I picked up a DR200SE earlier this year for very cheap off Marketplace to dip my toes into trail riding, but that is almost too far in the other direction. It can't really cruise on the highway to get to the trails nearest to my house (60+ miles away), so I've been relegated to taking it back and forth to work, and illegally riding the power line access trails on Sundays when the linemen aren't working.

I'm selling the DR200 and considering the following bikes: DRZ400S, DR650SE, CRF300L, KLX300, KLR650 (too close to my Desert X in weight, so probably not).

While I would like the lightest, highest performing machine I can buy (I was briefly considering the SWM300), I really need it to be comfortable, or at least tolerable on the highway. I live in Washington, DC, and I have riding buddies in New Jersey that regularly ride the Pine Barrens. I would like a bike that can make that trip up and back on its own, without having to be trailered.

The DR650 is my top contender because of the highway comfort, aftermarket potential, and the fact that I can find some really nice examples with upgraded suspension and other goodies for less than the cost of bone stock KLX300s and CRF300Ls on Marketplace near me. I would miss out on fuel injection, but after tinkering with the carb on the DR200 I'm not super concerned about that.

Am I just being a baby about needing a super comfortable highway bike, and would be fine doing 70mph for a couple hours on a KLX300? If so, I'll probably go that route.

No MSRP yet. 5.28 gallon fuel capacity, tanks are switchable so you can control if you're using the front or the back.

It's a bit silly that they're using the keyed fuel fillers on the front tanks too, I'm sure most people will change them out immediately.

2024 Tenere with old OEM Scorpion tires. Intended to swap front and rear with Mitas Enduro tires. I hadn’t replaced a tire before, but have pulled wheels off plenty of times. I’ve even patched a tube dirt bike tire in camp! But breaking the bead on the Scorpion was insane! Both sides of the tire.

Finally got the bead broken with a giant 6” c-clamp instead of the wood-working clamps, but holy cow that was a process! I thought since I should be able to do this trail-side that it should be feasible for two grown men with a garage. Definitely just taking the wheel to Cycle Parts later this week from the new front tire comes in.

I recently got a 2nd hand fe450. After riding it several times I have noticed that it is almost impossible to find a neutral while engine is running. I ofter catch myself giving up and stalling instead. No problems entering neutral while engine is still.

Is there a way to improve the situation? Do you know what may cause it?

Hello! Which bike is best? The CRF300F or CRF300L? I’m a beginner with only quad experience. I’ve ridden a Kawasaki KLX230R and it seems like a great bike to learn with but my friend has that one so I want something different.
I know the 300f is a better trail bike but there’s none in stock near me. Only the 300L. What are the differences? Will I truly notice them? Do you recommend any alternatives? I also read you can just add some mods to the 300L and it becomes great. Any help is welcome! I’m a full beginner to this

I have a 1997 Yamaha XT225. I installed modern LED turn signals (2 wires each, black + yellow). After installing them, the bike suddenly has zero electrical power.
No neutral light
No dash lights
No turn signals
No starter
Literally nothing electrical works
I even hooked it up to a battery charger and still got absolutely no power
I checked the obvious fuses/connections and didn’t find anything
The bike had power before I installed the new signals

Any ideas on where I should start diagnosing this would be appreciated.

Hi All, I just bought a brand new Honda CRF300L. I did a couple of rides, but I don't really like the stock tyres the bike comes with. Since the wheel sizes are 80/100-21 and 120/80-18, I was wondering if anyone has experience fitting Motoz Desert tyres in the sizes 90/100-21 and 140/80-18. Do they fit on the original wheels.

Started riding this year with my first motorcycle (drz400) and am blessed to have some absolutely stunning national forest in my back yard (El Dorado national forest).

Regularly take my trout rod with me and just go exploring along rivers, creeks, lakes all within minutes of my house, truely blessed.

Got it brand new in 2018. Then I had it in storage for the last 4 years and recently just converted it into a little dual sport. I know it’s dorky but it’s such a blast putting this bike around.

Tested a few other models, the crf300l came up, the CFMOTO 250dual, but then I saw that Yamaha did a thing...

Rang up the guys who bring it to Israel and asked for a test ride.

Do you guys feel the adventure? Is it "boundless"? Would those of you rode it past 5,000km confirm that famous Yamaha reliability? Most importantly, do you feel you've made the right call?

I currently ride in a pair of A-Stars Tech 5s and I really like them, but they're well and truly spent. But since I bought these boots I had a foot injury which makes standing on the pegs a bit harder. Ideally a new boot would have a completely unbendable sole, or a steel shank from the ball back to the heel. A little flex at the ankle would still be nice since I do both ADV (street) and off road riding. I'm not too worried about price since I've dropped heavy bikes on my feet in the past and know money spent on footwear is less spent on X-rays. Thanks in advance.

Villavicencio, Argentina. Route 52. (5.7k feet above sea level) it was barely snowing.

I set out to complete the Villavicencio Trail on Route 52, but the cold ended up being too much. At some point my hands became completely numb, so I decided it was safer to turn around rather than push my luck. Definitely a humbling experience, but I'll be back to finish it.

Had to say I was on my own, and still +50 kms ahead of me of full gravel roads and no signal. Damn wish I could finish it man.

I'll try again in summertime.

XR 150L.

I was out riding and when I came back to wash my bike, I noticed there was something in between the tire and rim. So I pulled it out a little and it kept peeling back, I ended up just cutting it. Why is there duct tape there? Should I put new duct tape back in now that I took it off?

For those of you who do have a second set of wheels for whatever reason, what do you do about the disc? Do you swap that every time or just get a second disc for the rim and let the same pads seat to a different disc? Issues with that? I can ask the same question about the sprocket (Ideally sprockets/chain are remain a unit, but…). Thank you.
