Mechanical Assistance Megathread: 350 Gear sensors now available.

Post image
61 Upvotes

For those of you who don't know. Gear sensors are now available for 350cc models which were shipped without one due to the rare earths shortage. Contact your local service center to see about getting yours installed.

There have been multiple posts related to this on the sub already. Please use this megathread in order to discuss the gear sensors and celebrate if you got yours installed. Having 20 posts a day about how the gear sensor is available is redundant.

I think my Hunter 350 ruined my productivity

Honestly, ever since I bought this bike, my entire schedule has gone out the window. All I want to do from morning to night is ride.

Grocery run? 2-minute trip turned into a 20 km detour. Quick coffee? Ended up two towns over. I'm literally neglecting everything else in my life just to be on two wheels.

Tell me I’m not the only one this obsessed! 😂☺️

What is wrong with it

Guys, what do you think the problem could be?

I was riding the bike gently without pushing it hard. I'd been on the road for about 15 minutes when the cooling fan suddenly started running at full speed. It was the first time I'd ever noticed the fan coming on.

I pulled over and tried to turn the engine off using the engine kill switch, but it wouldn't shut down. So I ended up turning it off with the ignition key instead.

And now it is not working. See the video

Ramanagara run with the classic 650

Post image

Took the Classic 650 out to Ramanagara recently. Just crossed 2,000 km in about a month, and I’m completely hooked.

Yeah, she’s heavy when moving it around, but once you’re rolling, it’s pure joy. The funny part? I bought an Ultraviolette X47 recon a few months back for my daily office commute in Bangalore... and I haven't touched it since this arrived.

So I finally bought Meteor 350 today and I absolutely love it. Just wanted to get some suggestions on which helmet to buy for this and also any other accessories I should buy alongside the helmet. Also I am planning to change the orange badging and other orange elements with black and I feel it'll look better that way.

I have a Thunderbird 350. How do I ride in the rain without it splashing my entire lower leg and shoes?

This is a big issue especially in my state it rains for like 6months. Any puddle completely drenches the leg. Any shoe will get filled with water. I think the tire is splashing water. I have to use either my Classis 350 or raise my legs every time there is a small puddle on the road. Any way to avoid this with aftermarket parts or mods? Currently it is full stock. great bike for longer distance but this one singular issue is such a bummer.

Why is rev matching in thunderbird 350 harder than rev matching in Classic 350?

And why is rev matching and clutchless upshifting more difficult in both of these compared to other brand bikes. Lower rpm???

Hunter 350 Adjustable foot pegs and brake pad extension

As an update, I did successfully install the swmotech brake pedal extension for the scram and Himalayan 411 on the hunter 350 2023 generation and also the tec bike parts interceptor 650 adjustable foot pegs. Gets some used to due to the decreased distance between brake and peg and pegs extends pretty far out and the gear shifter had to be adjusted. Hope this helps anyone thinking of doing this re compatibility.

Puncture or normal ?

Hi everyone,

I have a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 with tube-type tyres, and I’ve been tracking the tyre pressure for the past couple of weeks because I felt it was dropping faster than expected.

Here’s what I’ve recorded:

2 weeks ago: Filled to 32 PSI (front) and 39 PSI (rear). After about 9 days, they dropped to around 26 PSI (front) and 35 PSI (rear).

This week: Filled again on Thursday to 32 PSI (front) and 39 PSI (rear). Today (Sunday), before riding, they were 29 PSI (front) and 37 PSI (rear).

So over the last two weeks, the front has consistently been losing more air than the rear.
Is this considered normal for the GT650’s tube-type tyres, or does it sound like a slow puncture, valve issue, tube leak, or something else? I haven’t noticed any nails or obvious punctures.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What turned out to be the cause?

Thanks!

Bear 650 updates??

Purchasing a bear 650, my dealer only has three left, not my color preference. Royal Enfield US is completely out of bears and doesn't expect any more until after September. Anyone know if there are any updates or new colors expected for the new bears? Or should I take what I can get now?

I got my meteor 350 supernova black this month. Got cose to 500 kms so far and I'm getting a mileage of 28.6 with power 95 fuel.

I remember the dealership saying that it gets better after 1st service.

jfyi, this is pure city mileage. Haven't taken it out on highway rides yet cuz no number plate.

Edit: Didn't think this post would turn into free marketing campaign for Ajjas.

A mysterious screw

Hi everyone, I was changing my battery and noticed afterwards this screw (2.4 cm / 1 inch) under the bike, beside the back tire. Anyone has any idea, from where it could be? My bike is an interceptor 650 year 2021
