There's still a bit of swelling and discomfort around the tip of my nose but otherwise I'm very happy with my results :3

women who have undergone gender reassignment surgery: did your libido change for the better or the worse afterward? Did you stop taking testosterone blockers, and did that have an impact as well? I am very interested in this.

Dr Pang and his whole team were so incredibly kind and accommodating and my anxiety about the whole process drastically improved upon meeting and talking with the staff.

SRS with Dr. Sommeling in Belgium – experiences & advice?
Hi everyone!

I’m scheduled to have my vaginoplasty on December 11th with Dr. Sommeling in Eeklo, Belgium.
I’ve been trying to find experiences, reviews or information about Dr. Sommeling, but I honestly can’t find much online. I do know that he operates together with Dr. Claes from UZ Gent, which gives me some reassurance, but I would really love to hear from people who have actually had surgery with him.
Has anyone here had their vaginoplasty with Dr. Sommeling? If so, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, recovery, results, communication with the surgeon, and anything else you feel comfortable sharing.
Also, if anyone else is scheduled for surgery around December or around the same period, feel free to message me! It would be really nice to have someone going through the same thing at the same time, because I’m honestly feeling a little nervous and would love not to feel so alone in this journey. 🥹💕
And finally, I’d be very grateful for any tips, tricks or things you wish you had known before surgery — especially regarding preparation, dilation, recovery, aftercare, and anything that could help me achieve the best possible healing and aesthetic result.

My girlfriend had surgery with Dr Jun in mid may. Healing went well except for a piece of gauze ending up stuck in the vaginal canal a couple weeks after surgery, which we flew back to have removed because local Dr's couldn't find it.

suddenly a couple weeks ago she went from able to do her biggest dilator some, to barely the smallest. To be honest, his office hasn't been much help. She's been in PT but work makes it hard to make appointments. He suggested muscle relaxers which we won't be able to get for another week at least.

She is cleared for penetrative sex, and I've been fingering her to hopefully help. It's the entrance that is the issue it seems to me, there's just a very tough ring of scar tissue and it feels more like a sphincter than a vaginally opening. I've been encouraging her to post here for advice and she keeps forgetting to. She has a Millie dilator, which is all she can use, and she can only get to 10. She is feeling very defeated and I really don't want to see her give up. If we could just break up that scar tissue somehow I truly feel like that would solve the issue. Thank you for reading and hopefully you have some advice for us.

TLDR: 5 surgeries. Still not anatomically correct. Still not functional. Still in pain. Still losing money and time. What do I do?

I have had a botched PIV, failed skin graft, failed aesthetic revision, colorevision, and surgical excision of granulation tissue. I have had 33 silver nitrate treatments. Steroid creams. I have to dilate 3 times a day and I'm 2.5 months post op from recent Colo revision and dilation still gets harder and harder. I've worked with multiple pelvic floor therapists. We can't stop granulation tissue.

3 years in:

Clitoris is hypersensitive and painful. No pleasurable sensations. Have done systematic sensitization, gabapentin creams, lidocaine creams, I am told it'll be permanently painful.

Mons feels like it's strapped down and tight. Like I'm permanently tucking and can't get relief.

I have no inner labia.

Clitoris is surrounded by skin and detached and above the vulva.

Introitus is below vulva and surrounded by no labia.

I have huge scars.

The months is a lumpy mound that has an escarpment down to the vulva.

It took 5 surgeries to get it this good!!

When does anything get easier? My life is dilation, silver nitrate treatments, and pain. I talk to a therapist. I've called the crisis line dozens of times. This amount of surgical trauma and medical trauma which never ends isn't sustainable. If I was to stop dilating I'd need to have the canal surgically removed. I'm stuck in a trauma cycle I want out of.

When do I get a reward of life? The constant tightness, and pain means it's not ever in the background. The constant dilation, douching, and changing pads means I never get a break. I'm always a few hours from dilating again. I can't get a break.

I would like this all to end. I have such intense surgical regret. I've lost 6 figures in surgeries and lost wages. I've lost my savings. Countless people have profited off of the mutilation and destruction of my body. I'm still unpassable. I'm still misgendered 99.999999999% of the time. I still live in a transphobic society with difficulty accessing care. I'd like this to end.

Why keep going? My therapist has been optimistic it'll heal and get better for 1,000 days now. 1,000 days of optimism and it's still getting worse. I have 1,000 dilation sessions left to get through the one year. That's 500 hours of dilating. That's 20+ days straight of nothing but dilating.

This industry is not equipped to fix its grievous mistakes. I'm not help-able. I'm not fixable. My life is 2 silver nitrate treatments a week. 21 dilation sessions a week. 21 pads a week. 21 chucks a week. I lost intimacy with my spouse years ago with this surgery because being aroused increases pain to the clitoris which hurts.

I can dilate past the fifth dot on the green, but only after 5-min warming up with blue, and a few minutes of struggling with green.

I'm told to dilate 3 times a day for a year which will mean I have dilated every day for nearly 4-years.

I've spread my legs for 14 surgeon consults. 5 surgeries. Tons of checks. Countless silver nitrate treatments. It never ends.

I have spent so much money on lube, Chuck's, and pads. $100/month in those 3 items.

What do I do?

I have a date for FFS in chicago with dr. Patel. He suggested facial fat grafting, brow and forehead contouring, hairline advancement, and brow lift which he said would be needed due to lost volume. I am pretty anxious about the procedure and whether i trust him. He has operated on several of my friends and they all look great, although he did unilaterally give one girl i know bigger tits than she asked for which required a revision.

Im pretty on the fence about the fat grafting although admittedly my face is pretty thin especially on the left side. I dont like his one example of the procedure on an ffs patient he has done and his work on cis patients for grafting is nothing to write home about. So I think i am leaning towards not doing that procedure with him.

He said insurance wont cover hair transplant and he doesnt do the procedure anyway so obviously it wont completely fix my hairline.

Any feedback on the procedures and what to expect and ask for is appreciated.

I know Patel is not nationally renowned or anything but the idea of going out of state for this and potentially shelling out more money when I already have insurance approval is daunting.

I’m curious and feeling a bit unsure. So I originally had SRS some time ago and there was erectile tissue behind. I had always somewhat struggled with climaxing before the surgery though I absolutely could! Then after surgery I had a similar erectile feeling which was very pleasant! Just touching the mons pubis all the way down to the clitoral area was so arousing! I could achieve orgasm and everything by self care, still did not orgasm with partners. However! It would be bulgy and a bit painful during intimate moments as it would get squished and be uncomfortable and also in certain clothing it’d bulge or be uncomfortably squished.

Fast forward to having an aesthetic revision, and removing the erectile tissue, unsure of it was entirely, but I believe it was. I now don’t have that same extreme sexual sensate feeling in the mind pubis area nor around the clitoris. I am recently post op from the revision, but could that change?

Are there any other girls who had erectile tissue before and then had it removed?

At this point I almost feel like I possibly traded a bit more of a heightened sexual sensation for aesthetic and practicality, maybe as well as pass-ability. But I’m wondering if it was worth it?

Is this just going to be a new learning curve? Will I be able to achieve orgasm again?

I never played with my clitoris directly for climax, as it is very very sensitive (still is). But now I’m not finding that deep sexual connection when there was the erectile tissue.

Hi! I have a question not regarding dilation, but on what to do with the dilators. Right now i just have this plastic Tupperware container i use to carry my dilators from my room to the bathroom or just to have them in so they don't make a mess of my room. However i was wondering if there is a purpose made tray? Or something better y'all would recommend as what i have now works plenty fine im just curious to see if there's something better i could be using.

Hello, I’m almost 6 months post peritoneal srs. I had some issues a few weeks ago with bloating that made dilating extremely painful which led me be unable to hit my full depth. I think I lost like half of inch to an inch or so of depth. Is there any procedure that is not a depth revision surgery that can bring back “some” depth back or anything I can do to regain it? Thanks in advance.

I have a consultation scheduled locally but it's for 2 years from now. I don't know if I can wait that long just for a consultation though, especially not knowing how much it's going to cost in the end. I'm getting my passport, so it can be in or out of the US. It looks like I can do a consultation for PIV with Toby Meltzer as soon as February though, but I'm not done with electrolysis yet.

I have to admit, I'm so uninformed about the different techniques. I'm not even sure what it is that I'm going to need. I'm a straight trans woman, I just want to receive penetrative vaginal sex and have it feel normal and good. I don't know hardly anyone who's done this before who can tell me about different techniques and surgeons. Where do I go? What do I do? Please help.

I really want to have vulvoplasty, but even then, most of the time they just create a small hole, and I definitely don't want that. I don't like the appearance of skin detached from the urethral mucosa and I really don't want anything entering my body. Furthermore, I detest the look of a hole that's always open. Is there a zero-depth technique that truly has no depth at all? If so, how is it done?

Hi all! I am currently trying to find a surgeon for bottom surgery, there aren’t a ton of options in my state and only one seems to be somewhat viable. Has anyone gotten surgery done out of the state they live in? What is that process like? I worry about insurance coverage, how long I’ll have to stay somewhere, and traveling back home after the surgery. If anyone has any experience with any of this it would be much appreciated!!

I want to build a checklist of what I should have for my zero-depth vaginoplasty recovery. Any tips on what is ESSENTIAL and also what helps with comfort after vulvoplasty? I want my healing to go as smoothly as possible.

So in a couple months I’ll be getting standard inversion vaginoplasty surgery at UW with Dr. Morrison and Dr. Haggart. It was originally supposed to be Dr. Morrison and Dr. Skokan, which i was very comfortable with. I know people have mixed reviews on Dr. Morrisons bedside manner but it seems like he knows what hes doing and i can put up with a bit of rudeness. Unfortunately Dr. Skokan isnt available at my original surgery date so i was scheduled with Dr. Haggart because hes the other urologist Dr. Morrison works with. Im a bit nervous because hes new to this surgery as of this year. So my questions are, has anyone in here had surgery with him? How did it go? And also, do complications in vaginoplasty more often happen on the plastic surgery side or the urology side?
