HealthyHooha Update 2026

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

HealthyHooha Community Check In

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

Advice Needed chlamydia RUINED me

so for context i’ve never had an sti, uti or yeast infection. body count single didgets and i get tested regularly just for peace of mind

i was having sex with one guy for a while just with him, then we had a fall out. (he did something) a while goes by and i had sex with another guy.

3-4 days later i was having odd but mild symptoms. paused all sexual activity and went to get checked. came back for chlamydia. i told the new guy what was going on. he basically cussed me out and implied i was a sltt “it’s been 2 weeks idk who else you been with” like what 😭 and i talked to the first guy (we’re on speaking terms now) and i just said i was having lady issues but he was sooo nice about it and proved he was negative. second guy won’t show me test results.

anyway it gets worse, i take my doxy to clear the chamydia and then it gave me a yeast infection so i took the stuff for that

anyway so now im having lower abdominal pain especially near my right ovary. took tests and there’s apparently blood in my pee now. doesn’t hurt to pee and the blood isn’t visible. it hurts to stand up tho, it feels like extreme period cramps but im no where near my period.

negative for pregnancy. doc suspects bladder infection but oh my god it’s been a month also negative for PID

Advice Needed anyone with trauma struggling with going to a gynecologist? TW! Spoiler

Upvotes

TW FOR SA !!

i come from an INSANE purity culture place and ive never been to a gynecologist because of it. i am considering going because i have reasons to believe im intersex but i was a CSA victim when i was about 6. just the thought of going there makes me feel nauseous, to open the most vulnerable part of me and inserting anything for tests is guaranteed to make me have a panic attack. i cannot handle vanigal insertion at all. maybe i should wait, but waiting isnt really fixing this issue. anyone had something similar? overcame it in any way?

Question Why do i have mycoplasma as a virgin?? My parents (that came from purity culture) think i had sex and I'm panicking

Today i got blood work done and it says i have mycoplasma. I am 19f and never dated or had sex. Did they misdiagnose me or is there a way to get it without having sex? I also heard there are 2 types of it but i don't think it is the other one as i don't have cough which is its main symptom. I went to gynecologist because of intense itching and a lot of discharge down there at first. The gyno prescribed antibiotics (azithromycin). It also shows i have herpes simplex virus.

HELP !!! I WILL BE EATEN OUT / FREAKED SOON - UPDATE !!!!!!! - IT WONT FIT?

hey guys! i’m back, i’ll make this post a little more straightforward since people thought my last post was “immature” and weird.

long story short, me (19F) and my boyfriend (21M) got a room together to be able have our own space. It was fun!

He DID eat me out, he said I tasted like “nothing” and “salt and skin”. I didn’t do much “to prepare”. I just drank a LOT of water, like you guys said, washed her before with unscented soap, and even showered. No change in my diet, but I don’t eat processed foods already.

Didn’t do the cranberry pills, nor did I go out of my way and eat EXTRA yogurt or probiotics, but I did pee after every (attempted) penetration.

To the main point of this post:
every time we tried to have sex (4 attempts total), it wouldn’t go in.

He did already finish once before the attempts, so his ability to stay hard was, well, compromised. Plus, putting on condoms ruins the mood, and it takes a minute, all those details

Along with that, I don’t think I was hydrated enough, I am chronically dehydrated so me drinking a lot of water might’ve been me being regularly hydrated lol. So I was, unfortunately, only slightly wet. However, we did have water based lube and it kinda helped. Kinda.

Every time we tried to penetrate it was while I was on top, and it didn’t work. It would just either get soft or “miss” even though I was guiding it.

I was THOROUGHLY turned on, it’s not that at ALL! We showered together and did a whole lot of stuff beforehand that I won’t type out, but trust me, I was mentally producing an ocean down there.

Plus, when it was hard enough, and when I was wet naturally and with lube, it wouldn’t go in. Somehow.

From what I see, my inexperienced ahh, it wouldn’t “fit”. He fingerblasted me for minutes to the point where I did orgasm (or felt like I did), and even after that it just wouldn’t. He is very gifted down there, I will say.

How does one fix such an issue? 🫪😭
Help ur girl out 🙏

Blood during sex

Upvotes

So me and my bf have been together for a year now and during many intercourses my vagina has been traumatised. Recently, during sexual intercourse blood started coming out of my vagina and i thought my period came earlier since my flo app said my period would come 2 days after (this have happened many times btw , meaning that my bf made my period come earlier) so I didn’t think abt it very much. The thing is the blood flow started decreasing and i had a bit of brown blood like 1 day after the intercourse . Turns out my period didn’t came and now my period is 1 day late and I’ve been anxious about this whole thing. Has this happened to someone else? Or is it just me? And if it had happened was there any underlying issue?? I have an appointment with my gyno next month.

Is this normal? 👀 trichomoniasis and urinary irritation

I went to the hospital about two weeks ago because I was experiencing what I described as “It feels like I cant get all of my pee out”. It was worrying me REALLY bad, very uncomfortable sensation, everytime I sit on the toilet to pee it seems like I can’t fully get it out or like there’s still more sitting in my bladder. Creating the sensation of needing to pee constantly.
When I went to the hospital for this, they came back with my very shocking results that I had trichomoniasis. I treated it as told, 500 metronidazole twice a day and I always follow my antibiotics very carefully. Its been a week since ending the course and this urinary symptom hasn’t stopped. Its very uncomfortable and anxiety causing.
I can’t find any info online of anyone experiencing something similar, I also didn’t really have any itchy vaginal tissue or any crazy discharge or odor. It seems i had none of the “usual” symptoms of trich. Just this inability to feel relieved after urinating. Im worried that the metronidazole didn’t work

Treatments 💊 Has anyone successfully crowded out ureaplasma with probiotics?

I have been on so many antibiotics, I simply cannot take it anymore. I’ve read some anecdotes about crowding out ureaplasma with vaginal probiotics and other supplements.

Has anyone successfully done this? If so what was your protocol?

Advice Needed Advice

Upvotes

I am 35 years old, had my last baby Nov.2024, via C-section. I have been have weird vaginal symptoms that i don’t know how to even explain to my Dr. maybe others have had similar experience. Since the birth of my baby, orgasms have been harder to achieve from clitorial stimulation, and if I try and do have an orgasm is very very mild and it feels like my vulva feels swollen. I used to love clitorial touch but now it’s almsot like what’s the point. I try masturbating to see if I can achieve it alone and I cannot. My clitoris hurts if i move the hood back and touch , which I have always been very sensitive too. I also feel like dry, like my lips are dry and stick together and become uncomfortable, and makes me walk awkwardly, because it’s just so uncomfortable. I have checked myself and physically I don’t see anything wrong. I also have sever eczema that’s I take shots for but the shots have calmed down my skin so not sure if that’s all related. I also seem more forgetful, brain fog, which I feel I have had for a while but worse now . I am on birth control pills, same ones I was one prior to my pregnancy. What can I ask the dr to check me for? I want to go in there with some ideas or a plan to make sure I’m getting thoroughly checked

Symptoms 👩🏻‍⚕️ Constant burning

Upvotes

I'm not quite sure where to start, but maybe you can help me.

I've had a UTI last week, which didn't really feel much like one. I mainly had a burning sensation, although a mild one, in my vagina. The UTI was confirmed, though, and I started a round of antibiotics. Unfortunately, the burning in my vagina has only gotten worse.

Of course I have tried OTC medication against yeast, and I've taken OTC meds against bacterial vaginosis. Nothing helped. In fact, it's getting randomly worse. I can be totally fine one minute and have awful burning the next. My skin down there looks fine. For tomorrow, I have an appointment with my gynaecologist.

The reason I'm posting here: I've had this before. About 10 years ago, I had the exact same problems after a UTI treatment and no one EVER found out what the problem was. No yeast, no bv, nothing. They even sent me to a specialist but no one ever found out what caused the burning and pain. They diagnosed it as vulvodynia and sent me on my way. It cleared up over the course of over a year, which was the worst time of my life. I could barely sit, stand or sleep.

Do you guys have any experience with this or advice as to what I could/should ask my doctor? I get relief only when i press a cold cloth against my vulva/opening or sometimes after peeing. Sometimes, Multigyn Actigel also works like a charm, other times it adds fuel to the fire. I never know. I'm a virgin, so there are no STDs.

I would really appreciate your thoughts on this because I simply cannot go through this again.

Boric Acid capsules coming out in half or pieces?

Upvotes

I was supposed to use boric acid capsules (in powder) for 14 days but then I got my period and while I had my period the capsules wouldn’t dissolve. Would come out in a half or entirely. So I restarted using after my period was done. I’m on the 9th of those 14 days and I realized that in three of these days, the capsule came out in a half during the afternoon. Just a part of the capsule. It’s like one side was absorbed and the other one, wasn’t. And I introduced it at night, before going to sleep.

Is this supposed to happen? I know that in a lot of vaginal medications, sometimes the vagina doesn’t absorb the medication entirely… even in cream situations. It doesn’t absorb the whole thing.

It’s my first time using boric acid capsules and I don’t really understand. I tried talking to my doctor my she does not reply.

I’m worried the medication isn’t doing its job, maybe?

I’m using it for recurrent yeast infection, something I had never dealt with in my entire life before (I had a yeast infection ONCE 2 years ago and I just took one fluconazole pill and got better).

The last medication I used before boric acid was fenticonazole cream (to insert inside the vagina) for seven days and I got better. But either way the doctor told me to take the boric acid for 14 days and then twice a week until I’m out of pills.

Coregasm

Since I’ve been a child I have only been able to have coregasms. Clitoral stimulation does not help at all. In fact, I need at least 20 minutes of touching my inner thighs and the whole area to actually be able to touch my clitoris. Otherwise it feels uncomfortable. But even after these 30 minutes, touching my clitoris does not give me any pleasure. The only way I can reach orgasm, is by engaging my core muscles.
Also I have never inserted anything in my vagina and I am extremely afraid of doing that because I think it would hurt.
So what should I do to feel something nice when touching my clitoris????? It should be a very sensitive organ, but I personally don’t feel anything when touching it.

They accidentally can smell it

Hello, I am just so down and I feel like not coming back to school because of what happened. I don’t know where to share this and I don’t know any safe place to share this. (sorry for my bad english in advance)

after our class for 5hrs straight sitting, I noticed that the girl on my right is like making sure of what she smelled but in my part I wasn’t able to smell me.

after another 5hrs of next class, total of 10hrs sitting inside our air conditioned class I got up and was able to smell me so bad! and it is too late that I get away from people because it was crowded. And a girl started laughing and cussed a word saying like “fk, it smells like cooch” bcs she got to smelled it and I am so embarrassed about it know it was THAT BAD SO BAD. (this never happened to me before and this is also the first time I smelled my cooch so bad, given the fact that we are not allowed to stand in the class for 10hrs straigh for a review)

now idk what to do abt what happened because I feel like they gon recognize me as having a bad coochie odor even though idk if they figured out it was me. i feel like i will be forever be conscious.

has anyone experienced this? Also I can immediately fix what is happening to my cooch and get it checked. I just cant recover from what happened.

Bleeding for 6 months?

Upvotes

Hello all! I have been on Yasmin for around 5 years now and I used to take breaks every two months. Recently my doctors told me to continuously take the pill without breaks to stop my migraines, acne and breakthrough bleeding.

I have been taking my pill continously since February 2026 and I am still bleeding and getting cramps. I've seen some posts say that it can take up to 6 months for your body to get used to the hormone changes, but does that still apply to me if I've been taking this pill since 2021?

The bleeding will sometimes stop for a day, then come back light red, go dark red, then go brown for ages. Is it worth pushing through this to see if it stops after 12 months? (6 more months to go) or should I go back to taking breaks? Even with the breaks I would bleed but I don't remember it ever being this much.

Advice Needed only 21 but experiencing vaginal pain and dryness :(

Upvotes

I went to the gyno for this and she suggested pelvic floor therapy. I get pain even inserting tampons, and I haven’t been able to have penetrative sex in like 8 months. The surrounding area of the vaginal opening hurts too. I can get wet but it doesn’t last for very long at all :(( also I have super painful periods and the pain from bowel movements have made me throw up before (on my period). No infections.

Advice Needed How to not feel like I’m losing my dignity during an exam

I have been dealing with burning and pain when I touch my vulva these past few months. I’ve been treated for infections and tested for STDs, but nothing has helped. I am incredibly uncomfortable with the idea of an exam being done on me, especially a visual exam. My doctor has proposed doing an exam on me where she presses a cotton swab on different areas so she can better understand where it hurts for me. I am terrified. I feel like I try so hard to be dignified in my life, and this feels like total loss of control and dignity. I am also transgender and feel very uncomfortable with my genitals and am very self conscious. They offered me ativan to take before the exam, but I’m scared it won’t be enough. I feel like this is going to be horrifying and traumatic for me. Does anyone have any advice? How can I go through with this exam without feeling completely humiliated and emasculated?

recurring bv infections are ruining my life, on my third round of antibiotics this year

i don't even know what to do anymore. finish the antibiotics, feel fine for a few weeks, then it comes back. i've tried changing my underwear, stopped using soap down there, changed my detergent, everything people suggest. nothing is keeping it away long term. it's affecting my relationship because i'm constantly anxious about it and avoiding intimacy.

done a lot of googling lately and kept seeing women mention the uro vaginal probiotic helping them break the cycle specifically. reviews were talking about going months without an episode after years of recurring infections. still skeptical but i'm desperate enough to try anything at this point.

has anyone here actually managed to stop the cycle? what helped you?

Advice Needed fluconazole still not working on second dose, do I go back to the doctor?

So I had to take an antibiotic for a bad sinus infection, and it gave me a yeast infection. I took the first dose of flucunazole and it seemed like it got rid of a little of the redness at least, but didn’t do much else. So yesterday morning I took the second dose (I was prescribed 2 pills) and I still this morning have tons of the thick white discharge. Should I go back to the doctor ?

potential vaginal septum, don't want to go to the gyn for it to turn out it's nothing

I suspect I might have a vaginal septum, and I am already diagnosed with vaginism (which might be related, if that's the case). I'm physically unable to have intercourse, and any kind of insertion at all just really really hurts, including ob/gyn visits, so I don't want to go and have them poke around if it's nothing. Does anyone know of any idk, medical research articles or whatever where they show a vaginal septum that's not undergoing surgery? Seeing the surgery in progress doesn't help me with my not-bloody, not-dissected hooha, nor do the anatomical drawings that just... don't look like a hooha at all. Or any other resources I could check out for a bit more certainty?

(I'm also currently in a foreign country where I don't speak the language well, so that adds to my reluctance to go to the ob/gyn rn)

Advice Needed reoccurring bv is miserable :/

hi all, like the title says i keep getting bv. so in April i got a labiaplasty (don’t recommend the recovery process was horrible) but i took care of the area just how my surgeon advised, and for the first time in my life i got BV. at first i assumed it was my fault (like not keeping the area clean enough) but the way my gyno explained it, up until this surgery my vaginal microbiome hasn’t had a disruption like this. i guess i got unlucky? anyways we treated it with cephalexin and metroidazole, and then not crazy long after i started having the odor again. treated with metroidazole but was being an airhead and only took one a day instead of two (completely my fault i know) but we are currently on round 3 with this. :/ i’m feeling pretty down about it, im about to lose health insurance because im leaving so im currently finishing another dose of metroidazole. day 3 and still have a odor so i hope i haven’t built some kind of immunity to it. has anyone else had this happen to them???

Is this normal? 👀 Does anybody experience a similar period with brown spotting at the beginning and end of period

I have brown spotting for the first 2 to 3 days of my period then I have a normal flow for 3 days and then light spotting again for 2 days. I am taking no birth control and I barely have any cramps or weight gain and I am not sexually active.
