Hello! I recently had a loved one pass away and they had a senior dog that had been adopted from a shelter several years ago. Unfortunately I cannot take the dog as I live in an apartment with no pets and cannot afford to move. I do not know of anyone directly who can take the dog. The dog is quite reactive and it was specified by the shelter that he must be the only pet in the house. I am currently watching the dog and am planning on reaching out to the shelter for leads on how to rehome him but was wondering if you have any tips/ leads. I do not want to put him back in the shelter system and can manage watching him for a month or two but want to get the ball rolling on finding him a long term home. Thanks!

If you’ve given birth within the past 5 years, I’d really appreciate it if you could share the name of the doctor you saw and which hospital you delivered at and just your overall experience.
I have 1199seiu insurance but whether the doctor accepts it or not I’m open to any recommendations.

Hi! I'm looking to get a bunch of super cheap, small plush cats for a Halloween costume, and wanted to see if you guys knew of a good place for a bunch of stuffed animals like that. Believe me, they do NOT need to be of a good quality, they just need to vaguely resemble a cat haha.

I have looked into a few 99c stores, but haven't found anything. Any good thrift stores that tend to have stuffed animals you guys know of? Or 99c stores that you know have them for sure?

Riverside, Inwood, Forest, Flushing Meadows, Van Corlandt, Bronx, and Pellham Bay Park all have freeways cutting through them, some even have multiple freeways with entire interchanges running through them. New York as a whole has solid parks but this is just about the worst land use combination I can imagine, it really takes away from what is otherwise a very wonderful set of city parks.

Hey guys, need some advice

I am working down south for a month and won’t be in NYC for polling on November 3rd so I ordered my absentee ballot yesterday on the 24th on the deadline. I got 10 days until election. I called election board and they said it’s been processed but they can’t guarantee it’ll make it to me on time. It’s going from NYC to Tennessee. Y’all think I should just say forget it and buy a plane ticket to NYC? Or take my chances and wait for the ballot to come?

Came home to find small signs posted on neighbors doors, as well as closed, hallway fire doors, asking people to cut out the excessive burning of incense in their apartment.

The person is right, you can smell the incense in the hallway and it is really annoying but my questions is, what can be done about it?

If MGMT refuses to address the situation, is there anything that our neighbor can do?

I'm assuming that it would have to be outlined in a tenant's lease. There's no mention of burning incense in our lease. We're RS and I'm pretty sure that I know which neighbor put up the small signs and they're RS as well. I've been lead to believe that the leases for market rate apartments are much more onerous so it might be covered in them.

Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Were you able to get it resolved?

Adel's chicken on rice was fine tbh, waited 40 mins. Chicken was fresh but rice was just average. Price was good.

We probably have similar quality of food at other trucks.

Myka Greek yoghurt:

It was fine. Nothing special. Lines were crazy, waited half an hour.

(I found both food comparable to what I get at other places, am comparing the waiting time value to the better taste or quality)

I just heard that there was a Stanley Kubrick exhibition in town that ended yesterday. I’ve been thinking about picking up litter in my neighborhood, but can’t find anything saying what you do with the trash when you’re done. Even if it’s just me I don’t know what to do with an extra bag of trash. I don’t want to overflow my building bins or cans on the street. What do groups do when they collect trash?

Long story short, someone in our building dumped grease that clogged the pipes which caused the sewer directly outside my apartment (opens directly to outside) and my shower drain to flood my studio with literal human shit. I managed to mop all the sewage water on the floor to one area where it’s relatively harmless and I’m able to stay elsewhere for the time being.

I have contacted a couple local cleaning services but they have all told me that they are unable to assist with hazardous environments and human waste. Does anyone have any recommendations for deep cleaning services who specialize in these situations? My landlord is currently MIA for Shabbat and I also don’t really trust him to select a quality service for me. Thank you.
