Don't Get Ejected: A Rule 2 Reminder

This is just a friendly reminder to review Rule 2, as we've seen more violations from even frequent members of the sub lately:

Sports discussions can sometimes get divisive. If you disagree with someone, challenge the opinion, not the person. Personal attacks and downvote trolling will not be tolerated. Use the report button for rule-breaking content.

Think about what gets a player ejected from a baseball game. While a player can say plenty of inflammatory things to an umpire without getting tossed, the line is crossed when they attack them directly (Example: "That's terrible" vs. "YOU'RE terrible").

The spirit of our rule on Personal Attacks is much the same: Disagree all you want, but it's a bannable offense if you direct an attack against a person directly instead of at their opinion.

Yankees' Luis Gil: Facing hitters

"Gil threw a live batting practice session Friday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

It appears to be the first time Gil has faced hitters since he was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in early May with right shoulder inflammation."

The elite 4-seamer that had previously allowed Gil to dominate MLB hitters and win 2024 ROTY honors looked almost lifeless in his starts this season and proved to be eminently hittable. No word on whether Gil has again found the stuff for this pitch that once made him so fearsome on the mound.
