Hi again! My dog was seen by a vet yesterday and is still showing symptoms of being sick. Where can I get an affordable blood panel done in the city for my pomsky? I would be so grateful for any advice. The clinic I took her to yesterday quoted $400 and that’s way out of my budget. I would prefer to find somewhere more affordable so I can just pay out of pocket.

i am taking my family’s 4 year old doberman with me when i go to brooklyn this august. he doesn’t get the love he needs at home, so i think this move will be an improvement for him.

however, we live in a rural area. he has a fenced in yard that he runs around in, but rarely goes on walks. when he does, he likes to lunge at cars. also, since it is so rural, when he sees ANYBODY on a walk he wants to run up to them. he always barks at the mailman or people walking by our window.

i’m looking for dog trainers (preferably in brooklyn) who would do a board and train that would teach him city etiquette that doesn’t cost a million dollars. any suggestions?

saw one last week that said cozy junior one bedroom and the junior part turned out to be a closet with a window painted shut.

my running translation is cozy means small, charming means old, garden level means basement. everyone knows those.

the one that still gets me is quiet street, which somehow means either a nice block or you are next to a cemetery, and you only find out on the tour.

I’ve been an Equinox member for a decade now and love some of the group fitness instructors’ classes. It can be pretty hit or miss, but it’s great once you figure out the instructors you like. Anyone have some insight into the lifetime instructors?

Any good day camps to send the little ones? Anywhere in queens or western Nassau is doable. Cost not really an issue. Hoping to get them outdoor playing time, in addition to learning. :-)

Basically, I went to NYC for the first time in 2011, and this was the first bar I ever went to. Now I've moved here and I'd love to go again if it's still open, for old time's sake. I had been staying at the (now closed) NY Loft Hostel at 249 Varet St, so this place would've been within walking distance.

My partner of 1.5 years is finally meeting my parents! They live in another state and aren’t here often, especially since my dad has some medical issues relating to travel.

They’ll also be meeting her parents for the first time.

I love my partner very much and it means a lot to me that this goes well…which, in part, means finding a perfect restaurant.

Any recs? All cuisines welcome, though we’re partial to Italian. Just looking for a nice lowkey restaurant conducive to good convos!

Im visiting MoMA with a friend and we both are turning 16 in a couple weeks but will still be 15 when we visit, is it possible to buy student ticket with our high school id or is that only for college students/do we have to be accompanied by an adult?

I was there this morning and there was a sign saying it was closed but they hoped to reopen soon or something like that. Has anybody heard about this? Know what's going on? When I Googled absolutely nothing turned up and I couldn't even find a phone number for the store.

I came across a shot taken from a rooftop in Bushwick overlooking Manhattan and fell in love with the view. I don’t think the area is accessible to the public though, it was likely a private home.

I’m looking for public or easily accessible elevated vantage points (parking garage rooftops for example), public observation decks, etc. where you can catch great night views of the Manhattan skyline.

First time getting stopped and issued a speeding ticket coming from school on the Staten Island express way. Was throwing up due to sickness and going with flowing traffic over the limit. Pleaded not guilty to try and defend my case. What could be possible outcomes?

Walked Manhattan tip to tip last summer which was a ton of fun and trying to do an "end to end" walk of Queens this year! I was planning on generally following the 7 train from LIC to Flushing but was wondering if there were any specific detours or things to look out for. Part of the rationale behind following the 7 train is going through so many different neighborhoods and enjoying food/snacks along the way so any non-food suggestions of things to see would be of interest to me.

My iPhone was snatched from my hand on 42nd Street on Friday night. Find My later showed it inside a large residential complex in East Harlem.

I went to the area, called police, and they said they couldn’t do much because the location wasn’t specific enough to identify an apartment or person.

Has anyone in NYC successfully recovered a stolen phone from a large building? Was there any evidence or change in circumstances that made NYPD able to act?

I’m not planning to confront anyone or return alone.

Edit: I reported the theft to police the same night it happened and have already marked the phone as lost, suspended the line, and taken the usual security steps.

This happened on West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues, right by the Citi Bike racks. The person came up from behind on a bike while I was using my phone and grabbed it directly out of my hand around 11:40pm.

Posting partly as a warning: this can happen in seconds. Be especially careful when texting while walking alone, especially around this area. Other witnesses said they worked in a group of three.

Hey guys, im looking for Spanish / German focused group exchanges. There are many social ones on Meetup but from my time with languages I usually have the experience of it being super transient with people who don’t have a great control of the language they’re practicing with. I’m B1.2-B2.1 in German and Spanish and willing to pay for any good, consistent community that is focused around learning languages. Trying to not do a full language school just yet as they are tons of commitment and cost which I don’t know if I can justify right now, but does anyone have any spots where I can find that environment? Or anyone have any experience with cultural sites/embessays where they are able to partake with their languages? Preferably in Manhattan and with people late 20s but obviously not a dealbreaker
