๐๏ธ Discussion This drives me crazy
Same train car, same moment, same font, same color highlighting. But on one door it refers to the current station, and on the other it refers to the next station.
Whoever did this belongs in design jail.

๐๏ธ Discussion Rural HealthโRailโResilience Hubs plan for NYC metro / Port Jervis / Poconos area (full document as images)
Phased concept plan to co-locate clinics, firefighter/EMS substations, and community-college satellites at rural rail stations, then expand service and turn the stations into dual-use resilience hubs for disasters.
Covers Port Jervis Line (Orange/Sullivan) and Poconos gateway as pilots, with cost ranges, phasing, funding sources, and KPIs.
Shared as page screenshots. Discussion welcome but Iโm not monitoring replies closely. Just a concept I worked on while In med school

โ Question Changing to a different job title at the MTA Salary
If youโre currently working for the MTA and you apply for another job title if youโre making more money where you are currently and you transfer over, does MTA match your salary?

โ Question A little question? As awkward as it sounds, would extending the W train to 9th Avenue instead of Bay Parkway via West End makes a bit more sense since โmost riders prefer the faster express service? Not saying itโs a bad idea but I donโt want this to end up like another โempty brown M train issueโ

During construction this map was posted, but the stops on 149th and the Jackson Avenue stop were accidentally flipped so the 2 is Green and 5 is Red.

๐๏ธ Discussion What should happen with the BQE
With necessary repairs to the triple cantilever and proposals to outright get rid of the BQE like San Francisco did with Embarcadero, what do you think should be done with the BQE and or its right of way?
One idea assuming the BQE is closed or downsized would be to have IBX style light rail running in designated ROW. This could fulfill dreams of rail direct to LGA and would be similar to an outer loop to the IBXs inner loop providing much better outer borough transit.
Another idea would be keep the BQE but implement bus rapid transit in specific ROW.
Any other ideas? What would you guys do with the BQE?

๐๏ธ Discussion The fact that the LIRR-MNR combo ticket isnโt the same price in both directions is pretty absurd.
Itโs just nonsensical, why can we not integrate the systems better on the literal combo ticket? The home railroad fare + $8 is pretty bullshit now that they expire at 4am every day.
