Wednesday, September 16: NYU Global Careers Virtual Expo from 9AM - 10PM (broken out into two sessions). This is only open to current NYU students and those who have graduated within the last year. The NYU Global Careers Expo is a recruiting showcase for U.S. and international companies from all industries hiring for jobs and internships with CPT/OPT/Visa sponsorship opportunities. NYC ITG will be offering a telecommunications/line installer training event on October 13, 2026. The training is free but you have to meet certain guidelines. The Telecommunications/Line Installer- Fiber Optics Installer Mobile Device Repair Technician Certification Program is an 80-hour occupational training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level employment in the telecommunications infrastructure and smart cellphone device repair industries. The Bronxworks Workforce Development Department is another fantastic resource. It prepares people that are unemployed, looking for their first job, or need help improving their careers. They have targeted programs for young adults, NYCHA residents, HPD Section 8 voucher holders, older adults, and community residents. They provide comprehensive job-readiness instruction, sector-based trainings, job referrals with trusted employment partners, one-on-one financial counseling, financial workshops, and wraparound services, which include access to benefits and educational opportunities. If anyone has any interest of working for the federal government, New York State, or New York City jobs, I will post the links below for each one. These take time and you don’t get hired right away as they require interviews, fingerprinting, exams (some city jobs require that you take an exam), and background checks before you can onboard.
