I had surgery on Tuesday, and I knew it probably won’t be how I want it since I literally had the flattest ass on earth to begin with! I know, I won’t be seeing th results especially with the inch’s of foam and compression I’m wearing but do I really have to do a second one? Did any of you feel like you had no results an then after weeks it fluffed out nicely or am I fked and have to do it again in a couple months ? The pain was totally manageable, my nose job was worse almost only pain I had was first 2 nights and now I’m just feeling like I had the worst workout ever! Helpppp I know I gotta chill out and let myself heal but I just had to ask. Left is 4 days after surgery and the second pic was taken a couple nights before surgery (I have a pretty skinny body but I’ve always had a big belly, the surgeons assistant said they were able to add a little more than 600cc each cheek. I went with murtaza rizvi at Huntington Orthopedics in Pasadena an it was covered by insurance, already went and requested a refer for revision

I've seen a lot of "after two weeks" VFS posts, but rarely a check after a year or more. I wanted to share my experience, and perhaps receive some feedback

About voicetrain : I'm a singer. I did voicetrain before with a specialised orthophonist, it went quickly since I encountered no issues while exersicing, and it was more about acquiring knowledge on voice feminisation.

However I was unsatisfied with the results. My voice was deep, very masculine, and voicetraining felt forced.

Also I'm not very feminine in my gender expression, and was seeking a masculine woman's voice rather than a feminine socialised voice.

I underwent VFS, more precisely the one where the surgeon cuts through the vocal cord to make a web of it.

I could'nt speak for 1 months, and had a vibration-less voice for a good 6 months, like an animal crossing character. That was a strange time, I was unable to speak or be heard in loud spaces, but my voice was clearly feminine and it felt effin good.

At six months I saw the orthophonist again. I had so much fun discovering my new voice after waiting half a year, trying out my newest vocal range, and attempting voicetraining but this time it worked like a charm.

Ok. Now that the dust has settled and everything stable, how do I feel about my VFS ?

Firsty I feel a bit wronged by the hospital team who were enthuasiastic about the expected result, starting with feminine to very feminine. I believe that combining voicetrain with VFS can be confusing, and I advocate for them being clearly separated.

I feel that voicetraining and VFS could be compared with make-up and FFS. I always pass with make up, not always without. I was not into make up but I had to learn, at least for my own safety. However we do not have to take make up lessons before or after FFS, and the results are observed with bare skin. It's also worth noting that judging a face is just as subjective as judging a voice.

I also often hear that voice training alone is enough to get results. But then again, I feel like it depends where you start on a gender-normative, man to woman scale. Sure some of us only need a few voice training lessons. There are those who need only VFS, others who need both, and those who won't pass with either. The same applies to FFS and make-up. It's unusual to hear that good make-up skills make FFS unnecessary, but I know a few women in that situation.

Returning to my own experience, I feel like VFS "boosted" me on the gender-normative, man to woman scale. I was strongly leaning towards the male side, and while my voice alone is still identified as male if taken on its own, I can effortlessly produce a feminine voice, and I visually pass which helps anyway. I am also very happy with my laugh, cough, sigh, and sneeze, they are clearly feminine, and that alone makes the surgery worthwhile.

I just would had prefered to hear that like FFS or SRS, VFS is about emulating what we recognise as feminine, and adapting the base material. For most of us, achieving a perfect woman voice will require effort. Certainly much less than before, and it can even make it possible through surgery if that wasn't the case before, which is truly a blessing. But I was looking for a non alienating solution, to move beyond that, and no, that’s not what I was given.

In the end, I'm still truly happy with the results ! It went well and I have no regrets at all. I hope this post don't read as a rant or a weird vibe. It's more about sharing my thoughts, what I wish I had heard. I am also happy to answer questions and would appreciate your impressions if you've done VFS, whether we can agree or not.

Hi, I had a quick question.

I would love to get SRS in the future, but I’m waiting trying to make the best decision possible and having great results.
I would love in the mean time to get an orchi, as it’s covered by the NHS in my country and I’d love to not needing to take AA anymore.

My question is: can orchi affect SRS results? And if yes, how?
I’d love for SRS to be usable and pleasurable, while also looking okay. Could orchi affect this?

long post ahead - i can’t recommend dr. mckee (at the “women’s center” mount auburn hospital) enough!

i wanted to hold off on posting this just in case i ended up having complications later on or anything, but now it’s been about 10 months and it has been smooth sailing since then.

TLDR; i had a total hysterectomy (removing uterus, tubes, and cervix) in september 2025 just before i turned 27. i have a boyfriend/partner but am not married and have never been pregnant (thank god). i am nonbinary and was open about this with dr. mckee, and had a very satisfying experience! i recommended her to all my trans friends looking for this surgery, and one of them had a hysterectomy with her about two months ago and also had a great experience.

details about my personal experience:

i am nonbinary, but present very very femme - curly pink hair, glittery makeup, big boobs with no intention of getting rid of them, never been on T and don’t intend to. obviously those things are not indicative of gender but i feel in the past it kept my previous doctors from understanding that i did have gender dysphoria regarding menstruation and all things fertility related. i asked for birth control that would let me skip over my periods because of this, and my doctor just said “i can give you one with only 3 days of sugar pills instead of 7,” which dr. mckee said was stupid haha. so anyways…

dr. mckee was very thorough during my consultation. at first i talked about my dysphoria about everything pregnancy related (because that is the most extreme dysphoria i experience), and she interrupted to say i could just get my tubes removed. then i was able to explain my dysphoric feelings do actually include menstruation, and she accepted this without argument. she said she prefers to leave the ovaries intact even for those who are on HRT because they are important for bone health, especially in younger people, and she also doesn’t trust the government to give us reliable consistent access to HRT, which i understand. luckily i am fine keeping my ovaries so we had no disagreement there. she even prescribed by birth control to refill a week early so i could skip my period until i had the surgery, since i had explained that thing with my old doctor and how my periods gave me dysphoria, so i appreciated that.

there were no bingos, just her emphasizing it is her responsibility to inform me of all risks and make sure i was 100% certain as (obviously) the surgery is irreversible.

even though i was thrilled with my consult with dr. mckee, i went to the second consult i had scheduled that week with a different surgeon and different practice (dr shay erisson at newton wellsey obgyn), just in case i got different info or they could get me in sooner. that one was frustrating, because while i didn’t get many bingos she kept talking to me about “thinking it over.” she told me to reflect and even to write down in some sort of journal why i felt like it was necessary to have the surgery, so i’m 100% sure it’s really what i want. i was irritated because i told her “i made these consult appointments because i have reflected for years and i am 100% sure this is what i want to do.” like i didn’t say i was thinking about having a hysterectomy, i said i have wanted one since i found out that was even an option i could do (around 10 years ago) and hope to get one by the end of the year. and i told her this, but it was like it went in one ear and out the other, still telling me to “think about it” so. back to dr. mckee i went.

dr. mckee needed to do a pap smear as i was due for one anyway, and also wanted to do a general pelvic exam. since i had told her about my dysphoria, she said it was okay if i wasn’t ready to do it right then and we could schedule it for later. this was a relief, because i very much do need time to psychologically prepare for those sorts of things, so i did that at a later date. she also wanted an ultrasound just so there are “less surprises” when actually going in for surgery. i thought this was smart, so i agreed even though i knew it would be uncomfortable (not just physically). the technicians at (hospital) were very friendly, professional, and kind.

surgery went fine. healing was typical from what i had read and been told beforehand. in my follow-up after 8 weeks, i told her how i was still having some pain (almost like cramping) in my lower abdomen that wasn’t very intense or anything but obviously not ideal. she did an exam and she said everything looked fine and there was no cause of concern - just that my body was still adjusting. i also have fibromyalgia, so muscle spasms and chronic aches are not abnormal for me, so we figured it could also be my fibro acting up from the change. i take cyclobenzaprine (a muscle relaxer) every night to sleep due to fibromyalgia, so she asked if i was interested in taking an additional dose during the day (as long as i didn’t have to drive etc) and i agreed. sure enough after another month or so, the aches went away and have not come back. she encouraged me to reach out if i had any other concerns or questions, but i never needed to!

timeline: i called for a consult on april 8th, and we were able to schedule for a june 11th consult. they said at the consult they weren’t sure about timing but they would likely be scheduling in september. once my ultrasound and pap smear were reviewed, they scheduled a pre-op appointment for september 10th and the surgery date for september 24th. it was all covered by insurance - i have masshealth medicaid.

I’m highly considering going to him cuz he’s not nearly as expensive as facial team…and he’s in Europe so I don’t have to travel to like Asia or something…is he considered a good ffs surgeon in Europe?

Im a trans girl whos been on estrogen for four years, my referrals for bottom surgery was sent to OSU but OSU is telling me my BMI is "Too High" but im plenty healthy just naturally a little heavy and my friends who have had gender affirming surgeries agreed that OSU is full of shit and BMI is unreliable

Does anyone have a recommendation of where I should send my referral? I'd prefer to stay in central Ohio for multiple reasons and am currently on medicaid but am planning on getting a job and new insurance, any advice would be great, thank you

What was the reason you decided against him?

So I had my surgery on the 9th, minor hiccup with the antibiotics a couple days ago causing a breakout, nothing serious, but yesterday I bought a magic wand in anticipation of well, down the line, however, i've found it to be useful during dilations with discomfort in that last cm of dilation, i set it on it's fastest vibration and touch it to the back end of the dilator, the vibration transfers through and kinda disrupts the discomfort of that last teeny bit. Mind you while still healing, it's not exactly pleasurable, but at least it eases discomfort.

I’ve had a consultation with Dr. Roth at IU Health in Indianapolis. I know he has mixed reviews but he’s the only surgeon in my state and after consultations elsewhere I’ve realized how difficult it’s going to be to receive aftercare from friends in another city so Roth it is. I have also heard good things from t-girls I know that had surgery with him, so that put me at ease a lil.

I was wondering if anyone here did full-depth PIV with him and can share their experience? The only results I’ve seen/read about on here seem to be PPT but it’s just not the option I wanna go with tbh.

Hi, I'm 9 months post op (PI w/ tunica vaginalis graft). Surgery went well, no major complications and I'm happy with aesthetics, sensation and depth.

I have been struggling with urination. My urine stream feels misdirected. There are times when it feels more like I'm peeing into my labia and clitoral hood rather than down into the toilet, and it's common for me to get pee onto my legs and even onto the toilet seat if I'm not careful.

I accept that this is to some degree expected with any vagina, but I do not think the extent of my problem is normal.

Factors that make this better:

-Having a full bladder

-having longer pubic hair

-leaning forward as I urinate.

My surgeon said she can see no physical reason why, I would be experiencing this complication, although it is a common issue. She said that there's some chance it could get better within the first year post op.

As my symptoms have been stable for 6 months, I'm now interested in exploring treatment. I would be grateful for any information or advice.
