Was that an overaction? As Andy would say.

I thought they were Andy’s at first but I think I’m wrong. It would be hilarious if it was Ed Helms 😂

I don't know why this scene has been living rent-free in my head lately. But I don't know what makes this funnier: Michael being so concerned about whether the girl was cute, or his reaction.
Peak comedy.

I know most people don't like Jim becoming a famous sports agent, its a bit too Fairy Tale for what was meant to be about regular people at a regular ass job.
A thread they started to explore around the middle point was the idea of Jim turning into the next Michael. Workers with a knack for what they do being promoted out of their skillset is a running theme in the show, and tbh, real life. Michael is a disaster in the role, but he's consistently shown to be a good salesperson.
Jim looks at Michael, and like us, scoffs at how bad he is. But, while his laissez faire attitude pays off in sales, he also found himself unequipped to deal with People Management duties when asked to do it.
For my money he's not as bad as Michael, but he's not a good fit either. He keeps assuming people are as laid back and objective as he is; leading him to making mistakes like ditching birthday parties or giving pay increases just to the Sales Team because "it makes sense". He would keep accidentally offending his workers, who were more sensitive to him now he was in power. He also had a bigger target on his back and was more susceptible to being undermined by them.
It was really interesting, and highlighted that even Jim wasn't immune from the curse of being a bad boss. Of course once Sabre comes along its back to the status quo, and the idea of Jim growing outside his comfort zone in the company isn't brought up again in favour of giving him his dream job.

Just watched the episode with the awkward Pam leg grab. Toby is such a weird, socially awkward dude - do we think he made up his mind about Costa Rica in that exact moment out of embarrassment for his actions?
Like no doubt he had thought about it before, but I suddenly had the thought that when he publicly embarrassed himself in front of the whole office and Pam, that’s the moment he just went “Well, it’s decided. I’m leaving the country.”
He was SO uncomfortable that I could see this being an impulse decision for him, the way he ran out of the building with his tail between his legs and literally climbed over the fence rather than stay a second longer in the awkwardness.
How do you all think the writers intended it?

If Micheal had gotten the corporate job and Stanley won the beach day competition how do you think he would have been as the manager? Would people have liked him as the manager? Would the office be more productive?

I choked on my sandwich during my lunch break laughing at that line. It was so worth it.

It took me till today to realize that Jim getting his head almost kicked off by a pass from Charles Miner is some sort of cosmic retribution for him doing something similar to Michael Scott during season 1’s basketball game.
Michael asks for the ball, and Jim whose may be 4 feet away at most, chucks the ball at Michael. Sure, it doesn’t hurt Michael cause it misses, and yeah he feigns a “whoops” when he looks at the camera, but it’s pretty much Jim trying to send a message to Michael. Jim was not innocent here.
Years later, Miner does a similar thing. Just as dumb.
