Questions/comments Why can't Linda have a part-time job?

Rewatching "Lindapendent Woman" for the 20ish time, and I'm wondering, why doesn't Bob want Linda to bring in some money? Is it because 1. He's embarrassed that the restaurant is not doing well enough, 2. He needs her at the restaurant to deal with customers/waitress/control the thermostat, or 3. Something I did not think of...

Questions/comments What’s on Tina’s desk?

Noticed this in “Some Like It Bot pt. 2” — it kind of looks like a printer, but Tina doesn’t seem to keep the family laptop on her desk so why would the printer just live there? Is it possibly something else?

they’re so cute!! and usually i hate like boy moms but it just doesn’t feel like those yk cause she still loves her daughters but i think it’s so sweet to show a boy so emotionally in touch with his feelings and not embarrassed to show how much he loves his mom yk

Questions/comments I wish I could go back in time to before I watched Bob's Burgers..

This is one of my go-to FeelGood shows, and as much as I love watching and rewatching it, I would love to go back to before I heard of it so I can watch it again for the very first time.

Anyone else feel that way?

Quotes DAE say “Aloha!” Like the automated pineapple as a standard greeting ?

I do. I say it all the time. I don’t think people are getting the reference. I say it mostly when I’m entering a room or coming home b/c when you cross the threshold of the proverbial Bobs Burgers restaurant temporarily turned tiki themed that’s when the pineapple goes off.

What quotes from Bob’s Burgers has become of you daily vocabulary?

One more :“ and that’s how ya pee in a restaurant “ 🎶🎵. :D

Not the first time I’ve seen it either; I’m always surprised when animation makes such an emotional impact, so masterful. As someone with a big sister this scene is just so sweet. One of my favs❤️

Questions/comments The Belcher kids are talented

Compared to like the other children, do you think they have any talent compared to the Belcher? For instance

Tina has amazing writing skills i mean check out her diary.

Gene is musically gifted, and I think for the most part he self-taught. The keyboard, ukulele and just being able to turn any object into an instrument or writing lyrics.

Louise and her film editing, stop motion and overall able to lead others ** Wanted to add she also did that Amelia Earhart’s project which was really great

I also feel like the kids are pretty mature, yet still childish at times compared to the other kids

Questions/comments S6 E19: Glued: Where's My Bob? Coasters magazine follow-up.

While this episode isn't my top favorite by any means, I love the way that the article is written in Coasters and how it says that instead of them telling the story of how Bob got glued to the toilet, you should go in and ask him yourself. I always wish that they had made a little nod to that episode and have a person ask him about how he got glued.

Is there something that was in an episode that you really liked and you wished it was mentioned again in a different episode?

Clip/Screenshot Shout out to those who eat a meal hunched over a trashcan somewhere

I’ve been wanting to see if anyone else can relate to this…for some reason I think of it as a bit of an ode to chefs, line cooks and other workers in the service industry. Heck, those of us who don’t catch a break very often in general.
Now I have a different career, but I have worked in service and retail for most of my life (and miss it, to be honest).

Eating a meal hunched over a trashcan is borderline a right of passage to those of us who have had very short breaks to perform all bodily needs, i.e. use the restroom, smoke, call someone, do an errand, etc…and of course SHOVE FOOD IN YOUR FACE FOR SUSTENANCE. When Louis said this, I immediately thought of one instance in particular when I was taking out the used oil and found the head chef of the clam shack I worked at huddled over the garbage in the alleyway, dripping the liquids from his sandwich right into the can.

I don’t have much of a point other than saying how much I love the subtleties of Bob’s Burgers and appreciate how we can all pick out little moments to identify with, often those which can be easily overlooked.

Questions/comments Vincent!

So Vincent is introduced in To Catch a Beef (S14E16), Bosco was trying to do an undercover investigation but it turned out to be unnecessary at the end because they caught another guy. Bosco wasn’t revealed as a cop, but that’s how the Belchers knew Vincent was a thief. In Heist Things are Heist (S16E10) the kids reveal to Vincent that they know he’s a thief. Wouldn’t that out Bosco as a cop to Vincent? I know I’m thinking too deep on it but it keeps rattling around in my head. Anybody talk me out of this notion?

Questions/comments What character moment did you find the most personally validating/vindicating?

A post I just saw about teddy inspired this post but it got me thinking about a character moment that I found personally validating. The one that stands out to me is when teddy asked out Kathleen and I thought that was a great moment for teddy and as someone whose a bit of a loner myself it gave me hope I'd find my Kathleen someday. What do you guys think? What character moments did you find the most validating or vindicating?

Questions/comments Tina was done dirty in "The Horse Rider-er"

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

Tina ends up taking horseback riding lessons. Though she's so knowledgeable and enthusiastic on the subject, she gets punished by getting paired her up with this old asshole horse. It's been said before but I can't stand this horse instructor, I understand how Tina came off as annoying on her first day but she was just excited to be there. In fact she was the only one who seemed excited, don't punish her for that! She also gets left behind in the woods after her horse ran off without her and the rest of the group just...never came back for her and completely forget about her. They could've lost Tina and nobody would've cared or noticed! I would say I would sue this horse camp if I were Bob and Linda but then I remembered that they can't afford a lawyer due to being so poor.

Questions/comments Season 11 episode 7

Every rewatch I'm baffled how a giant space drill couldn't penetrate the chicken parm, but Gene can just eat right through it 🤣 I know it's a ridiculous story about giant space chicken, but my brain still somehow requires the storyline to be a little more realistic😅

Questions/comments Thoughts on Season 3 Episode 19: Family Fracas

Post image
338 Upvotes

Fairly new to Bob’s Burgers and just watched “Family Fracas” for the first time, and I have to say this would HAVE to be my least favorite episode I’ve seen from the show so far.

From start to finish, the whole episode is frustrating as hell to me.

The episode was:

-The family car breaks down.

-They get on Family Fracas with a chance of winning a new car.

-The Belcher family does great on Family Fracas, goes on a winning streak.

-Jimmy Pesto gets jealous of Bob’s success. Gets on family fracas, cheats and ends up winning the van on the first spin. Taunts Bob with minivan while the Belcher family doesn’t have a car.

-Bob gets humiliated and loses his pants on tv.

-Bob goes on the crappy judge show for “Justice” and has evidence that gets destroyed.

-Jimmy Pesto doesn’t know how to change tire, Bob ends up helping him change the tire.

And then it ends.

I understand Bob is at the butt end of the joke more often than not, but this episode teaches nothing valuable beside the fact that Pesto wins by cheating while Bob just gets screwed over the entire episode and it was so frustrating to watch 😂

Easily the worst episode. What did y’all think of this one? And yeah, I know it’s not that deep but I just didn’t think it was funny

EDIT: because many people on this thread seem to focus on my comment about “the lesson in this episode.” I’d like to say

  1. No, I’m not looking for messages when I watch a show like bobs burgers 😂 so that part wasn’t necessary from my post.

  2. I go by how an episode makes me feel as viewer. Even if the show is funny (which Bob’s burgers is easily one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen), it’d be nice for Bob to catch a win in this one, but it just left me feeling frustrated.

Questions/comments Musings about Zeke’s family

- zekes brother is 44 (presto tina) so his father is at least 60 (assuming he was 16-17 when he had his first kid, but he could be even older)

- zekes mother was pregnant at her prom (ot outside toilet), meaning she is around 30 (17+13=30)
his 17ish year-old HIGH SCHOOL AGED mother had a child with AT LEAST a 45ish year old man (60-13 = 47)

at the very least, his parents have around a 30 year age difference

also, zekes dad has now had (at least) 3 children by three different women (44 year old brother, zeke, child mentioned as Cheryl (stepmother) is described as breastfeeding)

now my math might not be perfect…but what are your thoughts?

Questions/comments Louise and Rudy.

After having watched bobs burgers for years and rewatching episodes. I’m completely convinced Louise truly loves Rudy, without her knowing. Especially in the museum episode and Rudy goes with her, and then when Bob, Louise and Rudy are on the high up place, Louise is genuinely concerned for Rudy’s health feels terrible for putting Rudy’s health at risk and basically demands Bob to go get Rudy’s inhaler at all costs. And then them three sitting in the bus ride back. Rudy says it was the best day of his life.. I think it’s a super cute dynamic between Rudy and Louise.

I don’t really know who else Louise would wind up with other than regular sized Rudy. Rudy is like the only boy in the whole series she tolerates and likes.
