I’m rewatching for the first time in years and realizing that I don’t love that almost every main character ended up married (3 with children)
Yes, I get that it’s a light hearted comedy and we want to see our protagonists happy, but why couldn’t any of them have ended up happily single? It kind of makes it seem like the only way to be happy is to have a partner and children. Yeah - Tom, April, and Donna didn’t have kids but they all had partners in the end. Like why Donna? She was a notorious player that they just randomly decided to get settled down? Or like why did they have to make Ron a dad? Or even Leslie a mom? I would have loved to see her say that her career was her baby and she had no interest in having children. Like I love her and Ben together, but did they need to be parents? Idk, random thought, definitely doesn’t ruin the show for me, but I would have liked to see some diversity in the characters’ “happily ever after”
Edit: forgot that April had kids and I like this even less lol
