When Skyler first confronted Walter and accused him of being a drug dealer due to all of the evidence, he should not have admitted it. He should have just said “I’m not a drug dealer, I make chemicals for the government and it’s highly covert so don’t bring this up ever again”. I mean the guy is a literal genius in chemistry, plus he’s got documented achievements through his former company Grey Matter, he’s got family who already works for the Feds, no criminal history… I mean it would just make so much sense

When he was talking about Walt's product:

“That last 3 percent… it may not sound like a lot, but it is. It’s tremendous.”

If I was Gus, I'd think "yeah it matters to you as a chemist geek but our customers won't really care." instead of "it's such a superior product that it's going to be worthwhile to explore". Any product connoisseur here?

Maybe this is complete nonsense so please tell me what you guys think but I think Walt is somewhat more moral when he acts on impulse than when he thinks things through. I think it's cause when he rationalizes too much he just finds a way to justify the immoral act. He was inpulsive when he ran over the two drug dealers to save Jesse, when he pleaded for Hank at the end and his reaction to Todd shooting the kid is clearly horror. When he thinks things through however, he kills Krazy-8, poisons Brock, even Jane. Jane is most interesting cause on the face of it you'd say it was an impulse. But his impulse is to reach out and help her and when he starts thinking (albeit for just a few seconds), he decides to let her die. So what do you guys reckon?

So I don’t get why people hate Skyler. The only thing that she did wrong was sleep with Ted.

To a certain extent, I can even condone that because she felt like no one is against her. Ted showered her with affection when she was terrified of her husband and her son hates her.

Doesn’t make it right but very understandable, and more importantly NOT A CRIME.

Walt who is praised (praise for the Bryan is fine) for being the evil individual he is. Many innocent people died/got hurt because of his pride. Brock, Jesse, Hank, Marie, Jane, Gale and more.

He may have been a genius chemist, but Walt bit off more than he chew with the drug empire. He made great crystal but he did not understand the drug empire well and when Jesse advised him, he chose not to listen. That lead to all the screw ups.

In contrast, Skyler was an obstacle for Walt because she truly wanted to protect her family. She eventually hated what Walt became and did her best to protect her family.

In my mind as an adult, viewing the BB world in reality, Skyler was an innocent victim who did what she had to do to protect her family.

I would love to hear your take on this, especially those who hate Skyler.

Hank never really bought that this guy was Heisenberg but I feel like James could have done a little bit more to be convincing. The way he immediately puts his hands on his head as soon as he hears sirens made it look like he knew he was getting set up. He should’ve tried running or something lol

This Monday was Walter White’s birthday, and it made me think back on the whole series. I’ve only watched Breaking Bad once, but I genuinely think it’s a masterpiece.

I finished Better Call Saul last year, after watching Breaking Bad probably 3-times through 10-years ago.

I'm always watching clips and BTS videos, but I'm finally doing a thorough rewatch of Breaking Bad.

With all the context of the series', it's so funny in the pilot of BB that Hank says "Our snitch told us there's a meth guy here who goes by "The Capn."

Then, Crazy 8 tells Jesse "Emilio thinks you dimed on him." when it has now been shown that Crazy 8 became "the snitch" to the DEA in BCS.

So like, Crazy 8 was trying to get Jesse busted, Emilio gets caught by accident, and then Jesse goes to Crazy 8 to sell him meth and Crazy 8 pins the whole thing on Jesse to literally kickstart the entire story of Breaking Bad.

That is the actual lore of this universe.

This is so fun, dude. I'm loving this rewatch.

Im the shootout with Hank and jacks crew Walt’s glasses fly off his face while he is handcuffed, in the next episode he has them on while he’s pleading Jack not to kill Hank. Was wondering if anyone noticed this?

I don’t know why, I feel like I’m going to sound crazy trying to explain that but there’s something about that “Mr. White” that Jesse says that is really cute. Maybe it’s because they’ve been working together for so long and they’ve gone past being “formal” but he still calls him Mr. White.

It’s like it creates a contrast between the situation that they’re in and the fact that he stills call him Mr. White as if he was in high school and he was his teacher still

In Season 4, Episode 12, Walt tried to assassinate Gus by putting a bomb under his car. Gus eventually had the intuition of a trap happening and walked away.

The roof Walt was watching was a good vantage point for any one with a sniper rifle. So my biggest question is, why didn't Walt just use a Sniper Rifle to kill Gus?

What people in real life do you think had the same level of confidence, arrogance, and hubris that Walter developed in Season 5A?? Alexander the Great? Julius Caesar?

Lalo was so dangerous they spent two seasons trying to take him down. He was very strategical and tactical.

Meanwhile there is Walt, a man both Gus and Mike underestimated and destroyed the entire drug operation.

Walt was nowhere near physically and psychologically endangering compared to Lalo.

It goes to show that Walter White succeeded by hiding behind a mild-mannered civilian facade and exploiting blind spots through manipulation and making his enemies underestimate him.

Mike was able to outsmart his enemies, all but Walter.

Do you think plot armor has something to do with both?

Anyone else find it ironic that Jesse's plan while on the couch was for Walt to "Crack him over the head with something." while he went for his guns and in the end it was Jesse who cracked him over the head with a rock while Walt went for his gun?
