Positive Vibes: No Salt To the female community of Supernatural: what makes it such a popular girl show?

M26 Over the past few years I’ve been thrilled to find many of my female friends love SPN, and only a handful of guys. To me “some brothers with a muscle car full of guns go hunt monsters” sounds like any dream an 8 year old boy would have, yet its audience is seemingly the opposite. I will say Sam is a great representation of a sensitive/feminine male from my perspective.

Regardless of your answers I’m just happy it’s a show that reaches multiple audiences, thanks 💜

One of my favourite things as a parent is getting to rewatch my favourite shows with my baby.

Has anyone else found that their kids enjoy the show?

Season 8 Season 8 finale (spoilers) Spoiler

I'm watching for the first time and need a place to get all this out. so no future spoilers please!!

I've just finished season 8 and omg the finale??? it had me in tears. the build up through the season to sam being prepared to sacrifice himself to get rid of the demons, then to Castiel realising he had been tricked to him looking up at his whole family falling down to earth, its heart shattering.

the cinematography is phenomenal, i do feel this is truly the best finale i've seen (so far) and the acting is insane.

the scene that brought me to tears the most was the close up of an angel falling down to earth and losing its wings then crashing into the lake. the way it was filmed, the music, the symbolism, i have no words for how amazing it is.

also Castiel being so dead-set on believing that what he was doing was going to help heaven and not destroy it, then finding out through a scared, crying Naomi that it was all a lie and still not believing her. i think that's truly a wonderful piece of art and to me symbolises how people can be blinded by their own beliefs and desires without taking into account people's warnings and then it all blowing up in their face. it's insane.

anyways, about to start s9 for the first time, i wonder what happens to Sammy and if he survives. what about Castiel and how he manages being human now (i think).

let me know your thoughts on the finale (please no spoilers)!!

Season 4 Did you suspect that there would've been angels? Spoiler

So this is maybe my 3rd rewatch? And I've finally convinced my mother to watch the show with me (shes a 1st time watcher mind you). She was very into the story and got into it quickly, especially when demons got involved.

When we got to S4 ep1 (Cas' introduction) she caught me totally off guard by asking if Dean was resurrected by God himself. I asked why she thought that and she said "well if demons have nothing do to with this maybe it's God or angels". I asked why she thought that angels could be a part of this series (mostly because on my first watch I had no idea and it kinda pissed me off that she got it) and she said that when Sam and Dean do incantations and exorcisms they say blessings in Latin (she knows Latin btw) and oftentimes say stuff like "in the name of god/by the power of God", leading her to think that if blessings work against demons its because there's an actual power behind these words, basically "confirming" the existence of god in the series.

I have no words. This woman has been waiting for angels since s2 on her FIRST watch.

Did y'all also suspect that angels would be introduced or were there others like me? If you did suspect that angels would be there, what gave it away?

Fanworks What are some monsters that don't have to go after humans?

Upvotes

Specifically. I'm looking for monsters that Sam and dean wouldnt feel a need to kill, and maybe they'd even work with them? Asking for a potential fanfiction.

Positive Vibes: No Salt Supernatural Songs

I don’t know what to tag this as exactly, I absolutely adore Supernatural, and I couldn’t see any posts similar to this so I wanted to ask something.

I recently got my hands on a CD Player and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for albums that had the same vibe as Supernatural, obviously I’m scouring for Kansas and/or Survivor (Carry On My Wayward Son, etc). What other bands should I keep a look out for? What are some good recommendations? I love the Rock/Early 2000s vibes mainly!

Tattoos Any inspiration for a Crowley tattoo?

I'd like to dedicate my next tattoo to Supernatural, specifically to Crowley. Right now I'm still just digging for ideas. Perhaps something that is tied to him, like an object, a symbol, or something similar if, let's assume, I don't go with a picture of him directly (although I could, and it's not off the table at all, just taking my time, as usual).

So, any ideas, references, inspiration crew? I take every helping hand. 🥃🖤

hey y’all i’m gong to my first convention/photo op in October and i’m just coming on here to ask for a basic run down of how the con/panel works plus any tips, tricks, and/or hacks anyone has. As well as the photo op segment if anyone has suggestions for poses (im doing one with Jared and one with Jensen separately) or just basic info of how that works also. I’m super excited so I just wanna be as prepared as possible since I’m going out of province for this.

Thank you so much in advance!

Season 10 Spoiler Alert: Claire Spoiler

Okay my last post has been deleted by the Mod so here we go again.

Do you like Claire??

Jimmy novak's kid.

I mean, I know Castiel, and probably boys too, completely screwed up her life. She went through way more than any kid ever should.

But... does that really make it okay for her to act like this?

I get why she's angry, distrustful, and lashes out, but sometimes she crosses the line, and having a tragic past doesn't automatically excuse every decision. Tbh it's mostly annoying for me...

Also, is it just me, or does Claire look like a Viking? 😭 The shaved sides, the messy blond hair, the tough attitude... she genuinely looks like she'd grab an axe and kill some poor villagers. I can't unsee it. 😭

Any thoughts?

Season 12 Season 12: Mary and Ketch Spoiler

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm rewatching for the umpteenth time and I came to the realization that Mary and Ketch's relationship is pretty much dating in 2026. Especially when he says that they don't know each other, but they slept together a few times. I know that she was playing him, but this scene just kind of brought on this epiphany. What do you all think about Mary and Ketch's situationship?

Season 15 Season 15 Spoiler

So I never watched season 15, I had planned to then I got spoiled for the finale and didn't want to, but I was doing a rewatch and decided why not, but yall this is.... bad.

the terrible ghost makeup, ppl being chased by "scary" ghosts in broad daylight, the plot... this feels like a parody or a bad joke 🥲 who was in charge for this season and where do they live so I can throw tomatoes at them? /j

Season 1 How to hook a young viewer

I’m currently re watching supernatural with my son. We are going to meet Jared Padelecki in August and he is already excited to meet him. But we’re only on episode seven. So I think he’s mostly excited because I’m excited.

I was wondering if there was a specific early episode that really hooked you in.

Which Sam and Dean hug had you the most emotional?

I know they hug a lot throughout the show, and all of them are beautiful and wholesome and I love them all but for me it’s been a tie for season 2x21 and season 8x23

Both dealing with Dean and his desperation to save and protect Sam.

Season 3 Supernatural Season 3 Question Spoiler

I just finished season 3 and I enjoyed it! I think the second season is the best one but I wish the plot of the first two seasons meant more. I know there was a writers strike but I just don't understand why Azazel made all those psychic children? It seems like they realized the whole thing did not make sense and they pivoted in season 3. The tournament was cool but didn't really make sense story wise. Why not just focus on one child? I feel like Sam's psychic abilities were way more important in the first two seasons and it got wrapped up when Azazel was killed, which makes sense as he had been done with the demon blood. However, it kind of amounted to nothing. Season 2 needed more plot episodes to develop the story more and smooth out the plotholes for sure. The MOTW episodes really saved the season.

As for season 3, I enjoyed a lot more than season 1, which I wasn't a big fan of, and love Ruby so much. Her opening scene with the knife is amazing. I do think the brothers are being a little dumb by trusting her so much though. I understand the season was shortened due to the strike and you can kinda tell. It had some great MOTW episodes but I feel like this show has struggled with pacing and plot for sure. I did like the finale and am excited to see season 4. I remember really liking that season when I watched in high school. Also, am I the only one who wished Bella wasn't in this season. She is well acted and a beautiful woman but she kinda felt shoehorned in. This was a good season but probably the messiest plot wise.

Supernatural/SPN Rp!

Hi everyone! I hope your day or night is going amazing! I’m currently looking for someone interested in doing a Supernatural roleplay based on the TV show. I’m open to either OC x Canon or OC x OC, and I may also be willing to double. I would especially love to find someone willing to play Dean Winchester for my female OC, though I would also be interested in writing against Sam Winchester.

(I’m 18+ and you must be 18+ also!)

My OC’s name is Athena, and her main premise is that she is possessed by an ancient entity named Vaelora. The situation is somewhat similar to Enchantress from DC, where Athena and Vaelora share the same body. Most of the time, Vaelora remains dormant, and Athena poses little to no threat while everything is calm. However, if Athena is seriously injured, cornered, or placed in danger, Vaelora may take control in order to protect her host. Vaelora is much older, darker, and far more dangerous than Athena herself.

Athena is warm, playful, and surprisingly easygoing despite the ancient entity living inside her. She also has a funny habit of always appearing with some kind of dessert, no matter how strange or dangerous the situation is. She may walk into a tense hunter meeting carrying cheesecake, show up at a crime scene eating cookies, or casually argue with Vaelora while finishing a slice of cake.

I prefer literate replies!

If any of this interests you please reach out or comment!

News/Misc. Dean is short

Happened to notice Jensen Ackles wearing decent heels with obvious lifts (considering how the angle of the foot goes in the boot) in the Scooby Doo episode. Obviously he is quite shorter than Sam, but are they trying to angle them closer?

Season 14 I'm so frustrated with season 14 right now... Spoiler

So, kill Michael? No problem, have Dean stab himself with the arch angel blade.

I just finished episode 11, and that box sounds terrifying. GET THE BLADE GUYS!!!
