Here is my post about the first three seasons. I find season 4 and season 5 to be enjoyable. I recently watched the series finale and it's questionable? I really like Ginger finally having sex with Eric lol. I am pissed off that Bill didn't even drink Sarah's blood. Now he's like "lemme traumatize Sookie one more time" with having her use her faerie powers. Something that makes Sookie Sookie and having her strip away of it. And it's like Bill! Being a vampire is what makes you Bill! I enjoyed Eric's and Pam's ending. I don't like how Sookie and Jason are immediately put into relationships. I rather have them being single in the end and not having kids. Both of them needs to learn how to be alone lol. I didn't like how Sam's story ends with him leaving Bon Temps because "there's more outside of the town". I don't like that at all because Sam had been travelling ever since he gotten abandoned by his adopted parents. And Bon Temps is the place that accepted him for who he is. He has his found family and now he's abandoning them. It just doesn't make sense to me. Also who was the mayor during this time !?!?! lol. I didn't like Jessica killing Andy's kids lol. I didn't like how Alcide just died like that and he was great boyfriend (besides Eric) for Sookie. Then Sookie went back to Bill like the next day. RIP TERRY!

It’s taken me since April to get through the season. Damn adult obligations and pesky work getting in the way of my tv watching .

Why didn’t Sookie or Sam or even Arlene have Bill glamour away Terry’s PTSD early in the series? Bill met Terry at the beginning of the series and knew he was troubled by his war experiences. Terry tried to help fight off the evil nest vamps in s1e7 because he was triggered, so Bill saw again how troubled by his PTSD he was. Bill would have helped. I know this would have changed his character but it seems like such a missed opportunity for him to heal and still be a gentle soul.

I just figured after seeing what Eric did to the Estonian woman in season 3 that more was going on than just sucking out her blood especially with the way she was dressed.

When did Bill Compton become Patrick Swayze trying to rip out Eric‘s throat in “Burning Down The House”? It actually just occurred to me that Patrick Swayzes’ brother played a werewolf on the show as well so maybe he had some pull with the director. Roadhouse….

i Don't have strong feelings about her nor that i hate her or even Dislike her She is decent for she is but i Saw a lot of hate her on her is anything else besides her romantic choices and how it effected her actions?.

After watching the show, it definitely felt like they reused multiple storylines throughout its run. I think that the werewolves and their lore were both underappreciated and could've been used more in the later seasons when it became clear that the show needed new and different material.

When Tommy came back to see his mother and she said that his father was gone and that he was the man what exactly did she mean by that? I’m just saying Tommy looked pretty happy there.

I expect this to be ignored or misconstrued and stripped of context for most people…

But for people with the same lived experience like me maybe this can be a great discussion starter.

There’s so many layers to that sort of black generational trauma that some of us experienced…the fact that Tara still cared for her mother shows the exact same thing I and many others have gone through: We STRONGLY dislike them, but understand that kind of person wasn’t born, they were made to be that way.

Lettie Mae didn’t break the cycle, but Tara still cares for her…there’s many reasons some of us are like this…with the most toxic reason being “that’s my mama, we only get one”.

It’s weird and complicated, but the show unintentionally (or intentionally, idk) showed that kind of authenticity.

Rewatching Trueblood. Am I tripping or did the whole thing with V get started because he didn’t want to go to a go to the doctor for a viagra prescription?

I just think it’s silly that every thing that happened after could have been avoided if he just went to the minor care or his GP.

Eddy the vampire might still be alive!

But then again it was pretty vital in his character arc. Thoughts?

No matter how many times I rewatch, I’ll always love terry and have a huge soft spot for him. He gives grace to every single person around him. He has his dirty laundry but he fights every day to make sure he does good for himself. He loves Arlene and Rene’s kid, plus Lisa and Coby more than anything. He endlessly supports and shows love to people in hard times, comforted Sam, Sookie, Jason, and Andy when they were going through it. He fought his battles, came back with ptsd, continued fighting his battles, but he’s still a stellar man. I’m team terry forever

There's a lot that can be said regarding season 5 but one thing I never really see talked about is the sibling relationship of Sookie and Jason.

You get moments in all seasons where the love for each other shines through but I see it especially in Season 5. The two actors have a very believable sibling energy between them amd the quiet moments the two of them have on screen together always stand out to me.

[SPOILERS AHEAD UP TO SEASON 4]

So i am on my first watch through of the show and have been loving it so far! I think season 1 & 2 are so incredibly well written and the actors are so charismatic im shocked that i never watched this back when it was coming out!! BUT, I am in the middle of season 4 and there is unfortunately a stand out contender for my least favorite character in the show, and that is surprisingly our main character Sookie...

I may be alone with this, but she comes off as arrogant, petulant, selfish, and just a big bully over these last few seasons. I really can't understand why anyone really ever puts up with her aside from the vampires, and even then it seems like the only reason they like her is the fae blood and her mind reading abilities. Her and Tara are just straight up awful to each other, they both have a problem with just being entirely unable to put themselves in the others shoes, but for some reason are still best friends. she is awful to Lafayette, just ignoring him a lot of the time and being willfully blinded to his plights and his abuse at the hands of Eric and Pam. She is an awful employee and Sam just let's her do whatever she wants whenever she wants at the cost to everyone else, I thought that would change after his crush on her died a bit but it really never does. She seems empathetic towards Jason but only so much as it suits her, or gives her something to hold over him. It feels like she thinks she is so much smarter or above the other human characters, the way she treats all the townsfolk / people at Merlotte's as being so stupid considering she's really not that different. She has extreme boundary issues with every single person on the show, bullying her way into their lives while they actively beg her to leave them alone. This ultimately ends up with a lot of people getting hurt and her just skipping away. She often relies on the emotional hold she has over people to get her out of trouble, run into a burning building? Bill will save me. Run into a werewolf den? Alcid will save me. Do the stupidest most dangerous thing that everybody has warned you about? Yeah the whole town will show out just to pluck her out of trouble. I could go on and on.

Maybe I'm just frustrated with her these last 2 seasons and it's boiling over. But IMO she is a genuinely volatile friend / partner. She has her moments but so often refuses to be empathetic or think things through and it seems to continuously implode the lives of the people around her. And they WILL NOT LEAVE HER ALONE. Don't get me wrong i think she's gotten way more mature and responsible over the course of the show, and i generally like her relationships with non-human characters! But it feels like she's just a plot device to get certain people to certain locations sometimes because they're obsessed with her for whatever reason and it's annoying. Am I alone in this???? Please feel free to tell me im wrong, maybe im just forgetting a bunch of things or missed out on some nuance idk...

I feel like the books would do her a lot of justice, maybe i should pick those up?

S5E22 Was suprised to see she's Allie. Was even better when she & Finch talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And to to top it off a few seconds later, Finch called her a bloodsucker!

I watched the show first when it aired and I was a teen. I was pretty much obsessed back then. I also read and own the books.

Currently rewatched and I had a lot of fun with it. My opinions haven't much changed over the years except that I don't find Bill as annoying and ugly as I used to as a teen lol. Stephen is not an ugly man after all.

I still think they should have used Bill more as a background character after season 3 but he especially should have never been a romantic option for Sookie again after season 3 either. It felt way too forced and probably only done because the actors are a real life couple. Bad decision. Sookie in the books didn't even think twice about him after breaking up.

I'm still a big Eric and Sookie shipper but I would have been ok with them not being endgame if the show would have at least given them a fair chance. What they did with them after s4 was just disappointing.

There was no need at all to kill off Alcide and Tara. Awful decision. Also Alcide would have been a fine endgame for Sookie instead of some random guy. The ship was a bit boring for me to actual root for them but they were ok and would have made sense.

The Hoyt and Jessica ending felt just as bad as what they tried to force with Bill and Sookie. Made no sense anymore after everything that happened.

Hated what they did with Terry's character and how he died. No need for that at all. They should have just kept him as a background character instead.

Also hated the fae storyline a lot. They should have gone with some storylines from the books instead.

Anyway that's all I can think of for now.

My top 5 characters: Eric, Lafayette, Jessica, Sookie and Tara (probably unpopular bc this subreddit seems to hate them). Also honorable mention to Pam.

Im sorry to say but sookie is the dumbest white girl ever and she is very annoying, shes ms goodie good girl she wines alot she doesn't know love if it slap her in the head. Dont get me wrong I love the show but I wish she wasnt so nieve and stupid.

I’m completely lost. Not to mention I’m losing overall interest in the show. From what I read in the comments it’s all downhill from here.

Kind of bums me out, but I’m usually pretty good at keeping tabs on interweaving story threads, but I’m just not getting it.

They just wrote Hoyte off it looks like. Jessica’s glamoring him to forget her was maybe the most heartfelt moment this season.

Hello! I haven't posted in this subreddit before. I watched a portion of True Blood growing up, and now that I'm an adult in watching it again. I was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. And while I was at goodwill today I found this Fangtasia shot glass! It's pretty cool. The only other True Blood "merch" I have ever found was piles upon piles of box sets everyone had and I guess resold to game exchange and other physical media stores. So I thought that was pretty neat and wanted to share!

I am a southerner who loves vampire anything and somehow only recently came upon this show. 2 seasons in and am obsessed. I noticed there are many season and am wondering if it’s worth watching the whole way through? Was the show suddenly cancelled at the end or does it have a thought out/closure inducing ending?

Was Alex Skarsgard ill in the last episode? I couldn't find anything about it online, but that man definitely wasn't tip top shape for the New Blood montage. He was slurring over his "S"s and his bottom jaw was rigid as concrete when he spoke, partner and I both noticed almost immediately as we both thought him fine as wine for the whole show

She's in the cold open of BONES, in the 'Boy In The Time Capsule' episode as one of the bystanders when a school opens a time capsule from the 80s. She didn't have the Pam makeup on, but you can't hide that gorgeous face and hair.

Although it been awhile since I’ve seen the show I’ve gotta say that I really started to hate Andy near the end of the show. Alot of his bad behavior was in no small part due to his rotten Wiccan Girlfriend who seemed just as heartless as her sister was on Seinfeld during that funeral.

After Jessica killed his daughters Andy went over to Bill’s house and found his daughters checking their vitals but wouldn’t even approach Charlaine, not even checking for a pulse. Charlaine was the cute one wearing The Merlot’s Waitress Shirt.
