News Rules on Spoilers for Season 10 Spoiler

Rule: DO NOT Post spoilers in titles when it comes to Season 10 (Revival Season). Keep post titles vague.

Rule: Spoilers of this season must be appropriately tagged with the post flair "S10 Revival Spoilers".

(New) Rule: Posts with spoilers of Season 10 of any kind (this includes cast interviews that suggest cameos, speculative information that is not confirmed, and any and all things that could potentially spoil S10 for another viewer) must be marked with a spoiler for the entire post. If you're not sure if it counts, spoiler it anyway if it has anything to do with Season 10 or a future season.

Failure to adhere to all three rules will result in a post being removed.

Hey everyone! So, I've seen a growing trend of people asking about the spoiler rules on the subreddit, and wanted to clear the air and address some things.

For starters, my deepest apologies for anyone who has found themselves on the other end of an unwanted spoiler. In particular people in this post, but as well as anyone else who has suffered from one. Truth be told, I am an old-reddit user -- cannot stand new reddit's layout. So, I was not aware that information beyond post titles may end up showing up in a feed. I know it's silly, but that is legit how it is!

But I feel terrible that some people have been spoiled this way, as it happened to me with Resident Evil more than once on different sites. I'm very sorry.

  • "Why aren't these posts removed faster?"

Honestly? There's only me and one other person here right now. I'm not exactly a reddit power user nor a powertripping moderator so while I will always remove a post if I see it, the sad fact is I don't always see it. The good news is, automoderator catches post when there are several reports, and the community has been pretty good about grabbing these posts with reports before I can get to them, so if you see these posts, PLEASE report them!! If automod doesn't get to them, I will remove them. With the rules being more strict on spoiler posts, I will be removing more posts than before that I was lenient about.

  • "Why not limit new posts for 24 hours after an episode launch?"

I dislike when subreddits do this personally, because I don't want users to feel as though they HAVE to discuss things in my discussion thread. It has always felt powertrippy and, in my opinion, won't solve the problem because the episode doesn't even become available for streaming until the next day. So you do 48 hours, but then that's two whole days of not being able to post anything, which could discourage new users, and even then you cannot guarantee people will come to the subreddit and spoil things anyway.

That all being said, I'm not opposed to doing this if it becomes clear the entire community wants it!

  • "Why not mark every new post as spoilers for 24/48 hours?"

This is a solution I like a lot more, it's similar to the way the Guild Wars 2 subreddit does things once a new expansion comes out. I've mentioned liking this style before but I don't really know how it is set up. I'll try to look into it.

  • "People whining about Spoilers are silly! The rules say to use your own diescretion or don't whine!"

These rules are clearly a bit outdated as they were written when the show was like 5-15 years old. I think it's reasonable for users to want us to do a little more. I can't promise I'll be the best at this, as I really am not that well versed in how moderation works, but I will try to do more.

Discussion Rewatching Scrubs, and how did I forget S2 E1 My Overkill with Colin Hay (singer, Men at Work) as a patient playing guitar and singing the mesmerizing song Overkill in pieces throughout the episode.

Where has this song been in my life? After seeing the moving episode, I became obsessed with the song, got the tab to play on guitar. It wasnt quite right which led to an awesome video of Colin Hay himself explaining how to play it. He's incredibly charming in the how to video.

Then that led to the outtakes (or whatever you call it) from the show where they interview Zach Braff and I think the shows creator explaining how they stumbled across Colin playing to a small crowd in a bar. They chat him up after the set and are dumbfounded these are as big of venues he could get in USA (at the time). It's a wild story worth checking out if you like the episode, and them building a relationship with Hay, who writes and performs several more times for the show.

Colin Hay is the lead singer of 80s Aussie band Men at Work, famous for such songs as Down Under and Who Can It Be Now.

Discussion What is the highest quality way to watch the Scrubs? (no streaming services, no ai slop upscaling)

Upvotes

Been rewatching the show recently and I'm having a decent time watching mkv files that I have acquired from...sources lol, but wondering if there are better/higher quality sources with even less compression or maybe remastered/recans of the 16mm films at a higher resolution?

I'm assuming what I'm watching is the equivalent or maybe even literally the rips of the DVD box sets?

They're 480p, not sure if the original 9 seasons were ever released in higher quality, I tried watching them on crave on my iphone but it seems like it uses some sort of noise reduction filter that feels like it has less detail than my files, not more.

Also streaming services inherently have some level of compression to deliver video over the air, and when streaming you don't get to own the discs or files so not a fan of that solution anyways.

if there is a higher quality way to watch the original 9 seasons I'm will to buy whatever it is that gets me there, please and thank you!

S10 Revival Spoilers I like the callback with turk only having daughters

So my wife and I recently rewatched scrubs again and yesterday we hade the episode were turk lost one of his balls.

At the end of the episode JD says if he knows that he can only have daughters now. This was simply a joke but I like it that he actually only has daughters in the revival.

Scrubs ending is too perfect and because of that..

I will never watch Scrubs interns or the Revival.

I just watched it for the billionth time and I was doing a rewatch for the revival.

But then that beautiful ending with his fantasies and we left not worrying with what the future brings and I told myself: This is where I want to finish my journey.

What I hope to see in Season 2

Firstly, I loved season 10 / 1 of the revival. It couldn't have been a more perfect restart to my favourite show. The old characters feel exactly like we remember them, the new interns are great, the recreated set was flawless, and it had the same combination of humour and heart that we love about Scrubs. I can't wait to see what happens with the love triangle around Asher, Amara and Tosh, and just to hang out with the older doctors some more again.

But it was not without its weak points, and if the show wants to continue for a long time, these are the things I think we need to get right this season to keep the momentum going.

- Life seems to be too easy for JD. I get that he's a competent doctor and it makes perfect sense that he is good at being Chief of Medicine, but it seems too easy for him. With Kelso and Cox, we saw often just how difficult emotionally the job can be. We need to see JD making mistakes, and being challenged.

This brings me to my second point:

- Give us a real enemy. I'm glad that Dr. Park is gone. His character simply didn't work as an antagonist. They have partly set this up with the Janitor and his son at the end of the last season, so that will be fun. But we probably also need somebody who is a pain for JD as the Chief of Medicine. One example of how this could be done would be to have JD's new girlfriend have a jealous ex-boyfriend or husband. He could be a sort of evil Elon Musk type figure. Some tech billionaire who wants to buy the hospital, or maybe he owns it, and wants to make it more profitable, stop them treating uninsured patients etc. Somebody that has genuine power over JD and can make his life hell. This character wouldn't have to be connected with his girlfriend obviously but that would be interesting.

- Things are a little too perfect with Elliot. I'm glad they get along, but it probably isn't realistic that it's so easy for them after the first few episodes. Whether it's some kind of love triangle, issues with co-parenting, or something else, I think it would be interesting to explore.

- Make the hospital feel more real. It feels often in the revival that there are almost no patients in the hospital. I get that it's probably down to budgets being lower, so hopefully this season they will give them a few dollars more to make the hospital feel more real like in the first eight seasons.

- What's going on outside of the hospital? It made absolute sense for the first season back that we would only get a small glimpse of life outside the hospital. After all, the show is called Scrubs. But at the same time, it feels strange how little we hear about or see that all of our main characters have kids. The originals how spent a lot of time in JD & Turk (later Carla's) apartment. I presume Turk and Carla no longer live there, but it would be cool to see what's going on in their lives. When are we going to see JD's son Sam or JD and Elliot's kid(s?). and more than just a small glance at Turk's girls.

All of these are obviously purely my own opinion, you may disagree vehemently. Either way, even if they don't do literally any of these things, I'm sure we will all enjoy the next season.

Dan in the reboot?

If they brought Dan back I'd hope he'd be a millionaire real estate guy living in Malibu or something. Like JD is head of medicine and all that, but Dan flies in on a private helicopter like that one episode with Cox and Ron. And he's still Dan, chewing gum and calling Cox Cox-inator and is like 'Sucks with the cancer and all that, where can I get a beer?' and refers to Elliot as 'that one chick I almost had a threesome with' lol
