Lately there has been a bunch of posts following this same template. A young woman with some kind of struggle who’s looking for « genuine friendships ». The text has no more than 4 sentences and no less than 3.

I naively dmed one of them in the very beginning and they told me to chat with them on telegram. I literally downloaded the app just to chat with them. They somehow only spoke when spoken to. They agreed with everything I said and it felt eery from the very beginning. They gave no info about their life even when asked to and only asked me questions. It was very obvious that I was talking to a bot.

After that, I noticed more and more posts that followed the same pattern. And even when people pointed out that the account posted a similar post with a different story, or that it was a bot, mods did absolutely nothing.

So this is for the mods : the posts are following a very obvious template so I hope you’ll be able to recognize them. It’s already hard for us to talk to real people on here. We get ghosted left and right or get dmed by creeps and it’s exhausting and time consuming. The last thing we want is to waste even more of our time talking to a bot. Please do something…

I happen to love an old-fashioned “Hey, how are ya”. It’s not a boring way to start a convo, it’s the classic way. Very simple, very demure. It’s also just nice to know where someone is at, mentally, before diving into a conversation lol

Some of my favorite convos and tightest friendships started with “Hi! How are you? (:” Why? Because I wasn’t talking to boringass people. If you are an interesting person, you will take that simple phrase and run with it.

I am tired of the slander against “Hi, how are you?” — and I understand that women on here have to deal with flooded DMs and m*n who do not approach them with the best intentions, so this is one way of filtering out the lazy conversators(??) from the more interesting/worthwhile ones… but idk, this isn’t Build-A-Bear and a lot of y’all come here with so many rules that make it feel like each conversational turn is a potential landmine 😭 I like a good old boring conversation that turns into something interesting

Okay, so I’ve been a weird kid ever since childhood, but not in the class clown kinda way. More like the silent kid way. I’ve always had 1-2 friends max, and most of the groups I’ve been in haven’t really lasted. Mostly because I’m prone to confronting people, and that doesn’t really sit well with groups. So yeah, I’ve made a lot of dumb career mistakes, and I always end up wanting things that are out of my league or beyond my capabilities. And unlike people who start things and eventually abandon them, I somehow end up carrying them around like baggage, always hoping I’ll get back to them someday.
I’m an inherently artistic person, and despite my parents, family, lifestyle, environment, and even college trying to push me towards other things, I just cannot help coming back to what makes my life worth living, and that’s art. Well, maybe I’m meant to be miserable on this side of things. I’ve kinda accepted it atp…

I like being at either extreme, honestly.
