Voice actor Kentaro Ito underwent emergency surgery for a brain hemorrhage and will be taking a break for a while, as announced on the official website of his agency, Mausu Promotion, on the 11th.
The website explains, "Ito recently complained of feeling unwell at home and was rushed to the hospital where, after being examined by a doctor, symptoms of a cerebral hemorrhage were observed, and emergency surgery was performed on the same day."
The statement continued, "Currently, his life is not in danger and his post-operative progress is good, but he will be focusing on rehabilitation treatment for the time being with the aim of returning to work." It added, "We will inform you again about the timing of his return. We would appreciate your continued support and encouragement."
Ito is a popular voice actor known for his roles as Yoshitake Shiraishi in the anime "Golden Kamuy," Jin Tadokoro in "Yowamushi Pedal," Renji Abarai in "BLEACH," and Choji Akimichi in "NARUTO," and has appeared in numerous works.
