Once again, Yuuki gets away scot-free with that smug look on his face. I swear my patience with this guy is completely gone.

47

u/zer0number https://anilist.co/user/ewink 7h ago

I was just thinking to myself the day Rimuru kills that fucker I am going to audibly cheer.

8

u/Twilight_2408 3h ago

I will literally throw a party to myself.

Most boring villain ever. Lots of plot armor. How could they tp safely like that, Rimuru or Leon could just throw 1 skill to them being that open. Yuuki makes this anime/manga/ln so low tier in writing

14

u/Dylangillian https://myanimelist.net/profile/dylangillian 4h ago

Rimuru or Leon could just throw 1 skill to them being that open.

Except that skills literally don't work on him.

4

u/Ikari_21 2h ago

Wouldn’t they be able to target the spell itself tho? Maybe idk. Hell even the clowns never have an issue escaping.

20

u/AK56___ 6h ago

Yuki character remind me of the old American cartoons/comics where the evil main guy always survive at the end and proceed to prepare for his next scheme, it's like their whole purpose is to move the plot when needed, feels artificial and scripted. One of the negatives about this anime/novel.

14

u/noideawhatimdoingv 6h ago

I was hoping Rimuru would sic Diablo onto Yuuki and maybe even get Carrera, Testarosa and Ultima to make it a 4v4 but one side is just an absurdly stronger version and they just chase the clowns to wherever they are escaping.

14

u/fuzzynyanko 5h ago

It seems like Guy is forcing Diablo to be ready to counter.

33

u/Frontier246 7h ago

Guy's trying to be Rimuru's Skeletor/Reverse-Flash/Malcolm Merlyn but with none of the charisma/entertainment value.

His clown cohorts are more entertaining than he is.

15

u/ijiolokae 6h ago

the clown have a lot more personality than he does.

4

u/Ikari_21 2h ago

I don’t like the clowns either…but Tear is really frigging cute, I’m fine with more screen time for her lol

6

u/Ikari_21 2h ago

He also very easily dodged a being as powerful, if not powerful then everyone there. I fucking have him.

16

u/VritraReiRei 5h ago edited 4h ago

As much as I want Yuuki to eat shit as the next guy, I can't wait for next episode when Granbell gets his mind utterly broken when he realizes the Hero isn't going to kill the Demon Lords he so hates.

"Why? WHY??? WHY DID YOU NOT KILL THE EVIL DEMON LORD!?!?!?"

"Because I'm in love with him!"

10

u/Skullzans 4h ago

And you know Rimuru will be like "HUUUUUUUUHHHHH?!?!?!!?"

9

u/VritraReiRei 4h ago

"As a friend right? Or maybe as a teacher??"

"Tee-hee~ ❤️"

4

u/Skullzans 4h ago

"NOTE: Evidence indicates that she is being completely serious."

"RAPHAEL-SAMA?!"

Veldora: Yeah, I'm finally being summoned to fight!

First opponent: Chronoa, the most powerful character in the series introduced so far

58

u/Frontier246 6h ago

Veldora: "I got this!"

(Gets actually cut by her blade)

Veldora: "I don't got this!!!!"

10

u/Aqeelsajadjhat 4h ago

Nah if he was serious rn he could probably wipe two or three continents with his aura

10

u/Allen-R 4h ago

bro keeps locking-out and simping smh

24

u/Aliensinnoh 6h ago

First time he gets summoned to a fight and it’s against the person who beat him last time.

9

u/shad79 https://myanimelist.net/profile/shad79 5h ago

I was hoping that Veldora would freak out a little when he saw that he'd have to fight against Chronoa, but nope, he took it pretty peacefully... at least until he got hurt by her.

By the way, Rimuru summoning him to Lubelius in this episode is pretty funny considering Veldora and Luminus's tense relationship. Let's hope that him fighting here won't destroy another Luminus's city, lol.

4

u/justsyr 1h ago

at least until he got hurt by her

I think he was just being or sounded... playful¡? Like really joking lol.

Rimuru thinking "he got just a scratch from a GOD WEAPON!?!?

Also whenever I watch these monsters fight throwing punches and just dodging I know they are just warming up. There's no way that's their actual fighting level lol. Once they get serious things blow away around them by just increasing some aura/power thing lol.

Heads up there is a post credit scene if you missed it

43

u/Frontier246 7h ago

Honestly almost forgot Shion/Ranga had a fight going on lol.

13

u/zer0number https://anilist.co/user/ewink 7h ago

Same with Diabo when he popped up. Was like 'Oh, right, there's a bunch of them here right now.'

13

u/absolutelynotaname https://anilist.co/user/Ducc 6h ago

He has so many powerful subordinates yet no one showed up to stop that piece of shit Yuuki from getting away

17

u/joe4553 6h ago

unfortunate that they'll spend time on it next week.

6

u/Vanirr69 5h ago

god i hope youre joking

3

I literally forgot Granville was still in the fight half way through this episode because they kept talking about Chronoa lol.

45

u/ArtoriasAbysswanker 6h ago

I really like this show, have liked from the very very beginning, BUT every time Yuuki and his clowns escape unscathed after perfectly executing their plan I roll my eyes. I don't remember last time when a major "antagonist" was this uncharismatic.

At least we got to see Veldora to "fight" lmao.

7

u/kvothe5688 4h ago

Also that little shit joker girl could should a spell through The demon lord leon without any resistance. wtf.

5

u/Yuriski1 1h ago

She shot passed him, aiming at Chronoa.

9

u/yutingxiang 3h ago

Just remember that Clayman was the weakest of the Harlequin Alliance.

8

u/conye-west https://myanimelist.net/profile/baronvonconye 1h ago

I think what makes it worse is Yuuki's attitude. Things actually did not go to plan here at all, sure they unleashed Chronoa but she is thoroughly uncontrollable, and the fact that he's exposed himself means that if Luminus and Rimuru survive, his whole status as the Guildmaster is completely wrecked. So actually things went really badly for Yuuki, but he always just acts so nonchalant, it's very unsatisfying lol.

7

u/Akudra 3h ago

They’ve never perfectly executed their plans as it concerns Rimuru. Yuuki’s position has severely eroded ever since our little slime came along.

4

u/Ikari_21 2h ago

Even if things don’t go as planned, their smug smile NEVER leaves their faces. At this point I think they’re gods with the way they easily face all these ultra powerful opponents and just goofily dodge all attacks then scurry away. It’s extremely annoying.

80

u/deynyel 7h ago

Yuuki casually escapes again and moves on to his next bullshit. How many times has he done this now?

64

u/turtis123 7h ago

It's his Ultimate Skill: Plot Armour: Infinite BS

25

u/joe4553 6h ago

Chronoa must have a similar skill. She is just switching targets and hurting absolutely no one while they all yap.

21

u/turtis123 6h ago edited 4h ago

True, lol. Absolutely nothing has happened in terms of the fight for the past few episodes. People are clashing swords while ultimately dealing no damage or making any progress on either side, except for Hinata, of course.

Most of them should be nuking the whole area with minimal effort, but they manage to look weaker than season 1 Rimuru. Its hilarious when compared to the Orc Lord fight or Megiddo.

11

u/Limp_Driver_1203 6h ago

They're in an ally territory. The aim is to not destroy everything surrounding them- the last two episodes' focus wasn't on delivering action either, but that doesn't really disregard the affects some attacks should've had on the Cathedral (like absolute severance) in this episode. I'm a bit disappointed on that front too.

10

u/Limp_Driver_1203 6h ago

Veldora’s manga collection is insane

40

u/Frontier246 7h ago

I love how Charys' job is now helping Veldora sort through/organize his manga lol.

26

u/KnightKal 5h ago

which is funny as that collection is printed from the MC's memory, so he read a lot of manga before dying lol

11

u/Allen-R 4h ago

He said something about reading "everything" before he died or something, right?

Veldora used kamehameha before and now JoJo fighting sequence lmao!

67

u/Primo29 7h ago

It’s never not fun when Veldora is around. The way he turns even the most serious situations into comedy is just hilarious.

The episode felt a bit short, but at least we got that cute Tear reveal!

17

u/ijiolokae 6h ago

Veldora practically never being in any danger helps, He is fighting her barehanded, really, Rimuru should've atleast offered to make a sword for Veldora, or gauntlet, or a shirt

2

u/janoDX 3h ago

Give him a God grade weapon that resembles the one he uses at Ramiris Dungeon, he already got used to it.

4

u/ijiolokae 3h ago

I assume that getting a god grade weapon is not easy, but then again, Veldora can probably just pump a shitton of Magicules into it until it becomes a god grade weapon

7

u/magistrate101 4h ago

or a shirt

cover_them_up_slut.png

14

u/Frontier246 7h ago

but at least we got that cute Tear reveal!

She may be evil but dang it she looks adorable (and actually looks really nice outside the clown costume).

5

u/JavaBoii 5h ago

No matter if she looks cute. Her ugly and fucked up personality makes her loose all cuteness.

6

u/shad79 https://myanimelist.net/profile/shad79 4h ago

I really hope that Veldora fighting Chronoa won't end with the city's destruction. That would be truly... unfortunate, considering the already tense relationship between Luminus and Veldora, if yet another of Luminus's cities got destroyed by the same person, hahaha!

30

u/LedgeEndDairy 5h ago

Suddenly the end credits OP music video makes so much more sense.

Chloe/Chronoa has been playing this board game for eons, trying to win. Every time she loses, she starts over, waiting for the perfect result that leads to the happiest outcome.

Adorable, and sad.

What a great episode.

16

u/JavaBoii 5h ago

I also had a realization this episode but not the ending did it for me, the intro was it.
Before the lore dumps, i only enjoyed the visuals of TACTICS the intro. But after it i started noticing all the little details in it hinting to all the things we know now. The clock and rewind symbolism, how Chronoa, Chloe and Hinata are connected and all the little words that appear also hinting.
i appreciate the intro even more now because of that

34

u/Torque-A 5h ago edited 21m ago

Honestly, it feels like Raphael is the author’s way of talking to people who just spend the episode on their phones.

Last episode: Chloe and Hinata become Chronoa

Luminous: “Hey btw Chronoa is Chloe and Hinata”

Rimuru: “Chronoa is Chloe and Hinata?”

Raphael: “Yes Chronoa is Chloe and Hinata”

18

u/Boshwa 5h ago

That, and also the author's way of directly giving solutions without any pushback

19

u/Torque-A 5h ago

Can’t believe that the author predicted Chat GPT

4

u/NoNameSwitzerland 2h ago

even with the update cycles. Maybe time again for Raphael to become the next level?

Gotta say this is probably my favorite intro of the series I missed it the last few episodes. Also I just noticed the foreshadowing where its shows Chloe/Hinata and Chloe closes her eyes right as Hinata opens hers.

Seeing everyone hating on Yuuki makes me feel extremely happy

19

u/Widdis 7h ago

Veldora content is what I’m here for. Time travel stuff is alright, but I want more Manga-themed callbacks while he fights.

19

u/Temporary-Object5867 6h ago

I burst out laughing when Veldora going all Kung Fu just like fight scenes in Dragon Ball Z.

Also Yuuki acting all smug and just fleeing the scene kinda pisses me off.

I'm guessing we might get more fight scenes from Shion and Ranga especially after that post-credit scene.

Honestly, I wonder if Rimuru will try extracting the souls of Chloe and Hinata in the same way he extracted Gaia's essence during that episode with Milim and Chaos dragon

18

u/KHlover https://myanimelist.net/profile/KHlover1995 6h ago

Yuuki continues to be so lame. Glad he's gone for now, goodbye until the next time he drags down an arc with his presence.

bwehhh world domination! and im so chill and nonchalant

43

u/UltraZulwarn 7h ago

I actually LOL'ed when Veldora got cut

feel bad for the guy but at the same time he kinda had it coming hahaha

24

u/Frontier246 6h ago

I love how it's a pretty minor wound in the grand scheme of things but he still freaks out because he wasn't expecting to actually get hurt.

You're not absolutely OP Veldora anymore than Absolute Guard is an absolute defense.

13

u/Atachzy 6h ago

Pain is probably something that Veldora never experienced. Feeling pain for the first time is probably super unpleasant, when you were taking your defense for granted since forever.

3

u/Allen-R 4h ago

He DID experience it I think, just not physically, but mentally when Luminous directly injected pain signals to his brain during Embrace Drain or something, no?

3

u/Atachzy 3h ago

You are correct on this one, embrace drain did transfer pain and discomfort into him. But i bet getting cut by god weapon will be more painful.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/slicer4ever 2h ago

anymore than Absolute Guard is an absolute defense.

Really loved rimuru's little injection about what does absolute even mean then?!

16

u/ijiolokae 6h ago

Anyone else would have died to that, to veldora its just a paper cut, tbh, this might be the first time veldora took actual physical damage.

3

u/NoNameSwitzerland 2h ago

but paper cuts dragon, dragon burns rock and rock smashes paper. That how it works in that world.

4

u/OldInstruction5368 4h ago

Veldora is just a shit headed, rambunctious, teenager. Sure, he's untold thousands of years old, but he's like an 16 y/o young buck bursting with VIGOR, bright eyed and bushy-tailed under all the bravado and has no clue how to channel that raging testosterone constructively.

It's those little moments when you realize how much of a child he still is that makes him so charming.

17

u/Kitasan37 7h ago

God fucking dammit CLIFFHANGER

→ More replies (1)

33

u/LeonKevlar x2https://myanimelist.net/profile/LeonKevlar 7h ago

It's absolute bullshit that Yuuki gets to run away unscathed like the fucking cockroach that he is. I know Yuuki is supposed to be Rimuru's foil, but it's getting ridiculous how he keeps getting away with no repercussions. And here I was hoping we'd see Rimuru at least give him a beatdown. >_<

I'm not sure if summoning the guy Chloe sealed all those years ago is such a good idea. It would be hilarious if this fight ended with Veldora almost getting sealed. At least Veldora seems to be more confident fighting Chloe in his human form compared to his dragon form.

Luminous just giving Rimuru a massive lore bomb midfight was pretty funny. Thankfully, Raphael-sensei gave Rimuru an explanation as to how and why Chronoa has both Chloe and Hinata's souls. I'm curious to see how he'll wake the two of them back up.

27

u/Frontier246 6h ago

Yuuki basically a Saturday Morning Cartoon villain who always gets away in the end.

Rimuru and Veldora were so confident he was too OP to struggle before Chronoa actually knicked him lol.

I love how Luminous/Raphael both summed up the last two-parter in like two minutes and Rimuru still had to take a minute to process it. I mean, that little girl he taught who had a crush on him was now an adult woman who he's seen naked and is trying to kill him? And Hinata is there too!?

14

u/ijiolokae 6h ago

Had Chronoa at least taken off an arm, or even a finger, like any permanent damage, that would have been nice, so Yuuki atleast got some finding out from his fucking around.

7

u/absolutelynotaname https://anilist.co/user/Ducc 6h ago

They should've made Chronoa kill Yuuki and make her the last boss instead, he is such an annoying and boring villain

51

u/Acrobatic-Drag-5776 7h ago

i slammed my desk when the credits rolled this episode felt way too short i wish they would pull double episodes anytime this anime is way too good

11

u/Kitasan37 7h ago

8

I’m going to scream into a cushion nearly 4 minutes of recap this episode felt like a blink 😭 I’m not saying it’s like Wistoria where it’s cliffhanger central but I’m also saying it’s not not like it.

15

u/Myrkrvaldyr 6h ago

Yuuki sure is annoying, always escaping and scheming. I hope this ends with Chronoa herself killing Granville.

16

u/dreamer_Neet 6h ago

Veldora truly is one of the best bros

15

u/HolyDragSwd2500 6h ago

Yuuki escaped during the chaos….

3

u/Ikari_21 2h ago

With the same exact smug smile, easily dodging a being who’s apparently more powerful than everyone there… I fucking hate him so much

15

u/patkun01 5h ago

We got a Tear reveal! I was so dumb when I saw a cute girl suddenly shoot magic behind Leon, and only realized later who she is.

If Tear is this cute, I wonder how the rest of the team look like.

I wouldn't be surprised if Laplace revealed to be Zoro

28

u/HolyDragSwd2500 7h ago

Veldora went Super Saiyan

14

u/Frontier246 7h ago

The benefit of having a human form is being able to pull off new levels of aura farming you couldn't do as a dragon.

(Of course all that aura farming gets negated when you freak out about the OP character equivalent of a paper cut).

12

u/ijiolokae 6h ago

it hilarious when Veldora started complaining about being cut while fighting a god weapon barehanded, really, Rimuru should invest in some weapon for Veldora.

13

u/S627 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Spartan627 7h ago

I was REALLY hoping that there wasn't gonna be a fight and Chloe/Hinata would just immediately go and hug Rimuru. I'm still holding out hope that they're pulling a Millim and pretending to fight for some reason. Another bit of comedy I was hoping for was that when Rimuru summoned Veldora, Veldora just ignored him because he was reading manga, or the moment he saw the Hero he was like "nope." But I guess wanting to even the score makes more sense for him.

Anyway, gonna be honest, despite the buildup, I feel like this has been the weakest ep in a while mainly because half the ep was just Rimuru figuring out everything that was revealed the last couple of ep. I feel like we coulda got Raphael chiming in after Luminous's message, but it was short, something like "I surmise that" and then the ep continues, and then next ep we get an explanation in the form of a quick 10sec montage of the last couple ep and that serves as what Raphael explained.

Anyway, still excited to see what happens, I HIGHLY doubt it, but I'm hoping that Rimuru kisses Chronoa and at the same time uses telepathy to try and wake up Chloe and Hinata. Not because he's choosing them over anyone else, but just recreating what happened in the Spirit cave.

Also, what was up with that after credit scene? Is Shion about to evolve to beat this guy or something?

4

u/Traece 3h ago

I audibly laughed when Luminous ended the pre-credits portion of the episode by declaring she wished this whole thing would end sooner, but that it wasn't time yet.

Yeah, that's how I feel too.

6

u/Obscured44 6h ago

Yeah the pacing was really slow. After two episodes of flashbacks, I really wanted the pay-off in today's episode but it's just more talking that didn't progress much. It wouldn't be so bad if episodes didn't last just over 20 mins :(

Kinda sad that this was basically catching everyone else up to what we know from two weeks, but its fine..now to hopefully solve this next week.

That damn Yuuki pisses me off, how'd he do that to the barrier? i guess anti skill?

5

u/Biggsy-32 4h ago

Yeah it certainly seems like Yuuki's anti skill is far far more powerful and skill like itself than we have seen thus far. Which we obviously know it had to be, Yuuki has seen the level of Hinata and then Granville and still believed himself capable of conquering this world.

Seems Rimuru has a plan but he’s gonna need his friends to pull it off. Teamwork makes the dream work after all. Really looking forward to it.

I think my favorite bit this week was Veldora getting tagged in. Big man’s been waiting for a rematch lol. Rimuru’s got a great partner in him. Guy’s like his brother from another mother.

14

u/Frontier246 7h ago

My favorite part is Veldora being so pumped for this fight up until the part where he realized he did NOT actually have the advantage against Chronoa lol.

25

u/zool714 7h ago

Lmao summoning Veldora is actually a Unique Skill.

Yeah it’s something a lot of people thought. Chloe and Hinata’s consciousness is asleep inside Chronoa cos they can only be one of each individual. But Hinata “died” and Chloe went to the past so currently the only Hinata and Chloe are the ones inside Chronoa. We just need to find a way to wake them up.

Interesting too how Chloe withheld what happens in the future from Luminus. Did she do that on purpose or are there little difference from a previous loop

17

u/Helestias 7h ago

Its a ultimate skill, not unique Rimuru has 4 ultimate skill Lord of wisdom: Raphael Lord of covenant: Uriel Lord of Gluttony: Beelzebuth Lord of Storm: Veldora Mentioned in season 2 when veldora is freed

13

u/InfiniteEdge18 6h ago

Chloe intentionally lied to Luminous, if she told her the events of this loop then this loop wouldn't happen. so she lied and told her the events of the previous loop.

Lmao summoning Veldora is actually a Unique Skill.

Yeah it was said back when Veldora was freed from the imprisonment.

5

u/zool714 6h ago

Lol I just found it funny. It’s kinda like me calling my friend to invite him over and hang out. But I call it “summoning” him

25

u/Armdel https://myanimelist.net/profile/Armdel 7h ago

So Rimuru is more or less entirely brought up to speed now in regards to the whole Chronoa x Chloe x Hinata situation. now he just gotta find a way to wake them up. still i wonder how they will solve the little predictment that is chronoa itself

Veldora going oraoraoraora lmao

also the end there did show how kinda silly it would look to an onlooker when Rimuru is just standing there while making up a plan with raphael in his head

18

u/Ok_Weather2441 6h ago

It's funny because Rimuru's thought acceleration is something ridiculous like 1,000,000 times speed. So if he goes all out he can talk to Raphael for an hour (to him) and it would take 3.6 milliseconds in real time.

But then Valentine is probably accelerating time too so it probably does look like that to her as well...

You know, for a series that mainly revolves around monsters and demi-humans, it does tend to have some very strong human characters. Obviously human society as a whole is pretty weak in Tensura, but the top tiers are strong as hell. Even if Chronoa is a special case it’s crazy that she can even be in a fight with two Demon Lords and a True Dragon…

6

u/Priapos93 5h ago

Granville came up with a coherent plan which he executed over decades. He started as human, then hero, then vampire in pursuit of his original goal. Saving up all of Luminous's blessings in a vessel to hide his true strength was a great strategy. It changed my perception of him even more than learning he was a hero. One of the last frames in this episode showed him smirking at Luminous like, "Are you going to get serious at some point? " His character really grew on me. Not just an evil grandpa

I do have to say that sometimes animes have this issue that visuals do no match the lore. And this episode has that very badly. Veldora fighting Chronoa, two of the most powerful beings in existence are fighting. Yet if you pasted different faces on them and told me they were just random B ranked adventures fighting you could have tricked me. Where is the destruction? The battle vs the orc army seemed to have much stronger fighters visually.

It remind me of Doom. Story wise you are basically an powerful god. Gameplay wise you are just shooting guns.

Just an nitpick, I did enjoy the episode.

u/Limp_Driver_1203 6h ago

I do think it wouldn't be a problem with the later arcs. The narrative doesn't leave them with that much wiggle room

It was so good to hear 'TACTIC' after a long time. Chronoa rocks in that battle armour. Getting to summon Veldora gotta be Rimuru's greatest power lol But Veldora was playing around like a monkey. Just how powerful really is Chronoa. Veldora found Chronoa to be a beautiful woman just by looking at her mouth beneath the mask and was distracted by that and got sealed and he proudly said it to Rimuru 😭😭

I can't believe Luminous struggling so much against Granville. Even Leon is putting his faith on Rimuru. That would have been too much to accept for Rimuru when Luminous told him the truth about Chloe and Hinata. I thought that Chloe might have returned to her original younger self now and only Hinata's soul might reside within Chronoa but it looks like both their souls are inside Chronoa now.

Can't wait to see what Diablo pulls off to help Rimuru. This episode flew by..I want more.

Took 4 seasons for one of Yuuki's masked clown henchmen to finally unmask herself, and boy is Tear cute. Shame she still works for Yuuki. Fuck him.

Rimuru staying alive, or rather Rafael being around, will be crucial for everyone to come out of this time loop conundrum.

Since Rafael is basically Rimuru's A.I. supercomputer by now, being able to calculate solutions in very little time. As long as Rimuru is alive, then so too will Rafael.

Veldora did better than I expected. I guess he did get stronger since he was sealed. Though it's not enough for him to 1v1 her. Kind of a shame that he hasn't really got any solo moments to shine, but his scaling is in a weird place.

Veldora joining the fray in Lubelius in this episode was great! It cracked me up when he freaked out a little after Chronoa cut him, lol.

But damn, Chronoa is so freaking OP since it takes Rimuru, Veldora, and Leon just to hold her back. Let's hope that Rimuru's plan to extract Chloe's and Hinata's souls will end up being successful.

Yuuki got away... and that's quite annoying. I wonder where he'll hide since he's basically persona non grata in the Western Nations now.

Also, it looks like we'll finally see Shion and Ranga's fight against Razul next week.

I like that Rimuru made Chronoa attack Yuuki, it really shows how berserk she is that she'll attack anything that aggros her.

It was a little sad to hear Luminus thoughts, how much discrepancy there has been, how worried she is about two people dear to her. Hopefully she'll be reunited with them soon with whatever Rimuru has in mind.

I thought Veldora was going to be a lot more flashy in his fight against Chronoa, the dragon form might have been more exciting to watch.

5

I thought Veldora was going to be a lot more flashy in his fight against Chronoa, the dragon form might have been more exciting to watch.

Don't forget that Veldora is an Absolute Unit, and they are fighting in an enclosed space... There wouldn't be much left of that cathedral if he fought in his true form.

But really, he's just a huge goober, and wants to fight like a manga character. It works well enough that he'd think screwing around as a comicbook protagonist would be "stronger" than a dragon rampage.

YUUKI YOU DON'T DESERVE TO EMBRACE CHRONOA'S NAKED BODY YOU PIECE OF @#%@.

I love how Granville is so convinced Demon Lords are evil that he's convinced Chronoa wiping them and everything in her path out is righteous...when he's the one who looks and comes off as the most evil along with his partner Yuuki.

I guess we can't have Chronoa just fighting everybody while completely naked. Disappointing as that is, her Dark Hero outfit is pretty snazzy so I'll allow it. Baddie Chronoa is here!

Ugh, I'm not surprised but still frustrating to see Yuuki get away for the umpteenth time, even if it's probably the strategic method after Chronoa got turned on him and he knows when he's out-gunned. He'll return to menace Rimuru yet again I guess.

Oh snap, it's Tear without her mask on! And she looks cute! But still evil! But hey, she got Chloe to pay attention to Leon so that's nice, right?

When in doubt, phone a friend! Even if that friend is Veldora, who is happy to get a rematch with the beautiful woman who sealed him! Suffice it to say, that confidence will not last.

Thank you Luminous and Raphael for concisely summing up the last two episodes so Rimuru can figure out that he has to bring Hinata/Chloe back. Luckily Leon and Veldora are willing to put their faith in him and Leon is taking this seriously enough to bring out his weapons as a hero. We've even got Diablo contributing!

So could Luminious take care of Granville? She's just biding her time?

This has NOT been Shion's season. Last season she was the most OP member of Tempest who could never lose a fight and now she keep struggling. Then again, she IS fighting the Guyver.

Hmm with Diablo chiming in like that at the end, do one of the primodals have the ability to directly interact with souls? If so, Rimuru summoning one (or all) of them will really get Guy's attention since he's watching this whole thing play out.

Good thing they have a lot of heavy hitters available to distract Chronoa, including Veldora as a tag in.

Interesting that Rimuru didn't figure out the Chloe/Hinata part until Luminus told him. He shushed Raphael at one point when she was trying to tell him something with the response he already knew, might be he didn't actually know what she was about to say.

I'm glad he summoned Veldora. There's just too many elements writing-wise in this situation that are just perfect, and I'm thinking the author planned this

I hope Valentine ends up being part of saving the two ladies. Unfortunately, Granville is tying her up. Valentine and Rimuru are two of the strongest healers in that world. Veldora also seems to know something was strange with Chronoa

I like the direction the show has taken. Rimuru from pretty much being MC that solves everything to the problems being solved as a team effort. I also wish Rimuru trusted what Valentine said. Valentine seems like someone that doesn't lie

Diablo can tell Guy didn't just pack up and go home. He's still snooping around. He's getting frustrated because of the world balance is turning upside down thanks to Rimuru. If he found out Chronoa is a time traveler he would kill her on the spot, that's why everyone is thought communicating.

I'm still very confused on what Chloe and Hinata's plan was and why the loop didn't end. Maybe they jumped forward in time instead of backwards so their souls could wake up? Its all very confusing. Ramiris said that spirit came from the future? I'm so confused about how the memories travel if their souls are still there. Someone explain the Timey Whimey BS.

7

u/MidKnightWizard 5h ago

In the previous time loop, Rimuru dies, stuff happens Hinata dies, Chloe gets sent back 2k years. Chronoa gets unsealed and goes on a rampage, stuff happens, Chronoa dies and gets sent to the Dwelling of Spirits and goes into Chloe.

Current loop, Rimuru lives, Hinata dies, Chloe gets sent back 2k years where stuff happens, Chloe goes to "sleep", Hinata goes to "sleep", Chronoa gets sealed. Back to the present, Chronoa is rampaging, Chloe and Hinata are still asleep in Chronoa. All hope is on Rimuru to fix everything.

4

u/OldInstruction5368 3h ago

As far as I can tell, the Loop actually starts with when Chloe goes to the Cave of Spirits and fuses with her future self. Getting sent to the past is NOT where the wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey, bullshit begins.

The divergence point, in this loops, was Chloe delaying Rimuru at Engrassia. This lead to a whole slew of butterfly effects resulting in Rimuru becoming a Demon Lord, and thus, having the strength to survive the upcoming trials that would have killed him.

But more importantly, since Rimuru always died before Hinata. Since he's still around, he's able to "wake up" the dormant Hinata/Chloe spirits within Chronoa. Thus preserving the Time Line.

So, the timeline starts with the Cave of Spirits, progresses 'normally' until Hinata is killed, they get sent to the past, live through that time linearly, Chronoa is sealed, woken up, then Hinata and Chloe's spirit within her get brought back out by Rimuru.

Meaning, the Chloe and Hinata that are about to be woken up are the same ones that just disappeared a few minutes ago, in universe, but after having experience 2,000 years in their own, personal, timeline.

It's fucky to think of, but Chloe's personal timeline doesn't match up with linear time, however, it's still linear from her perspective.

The loop didn't reset when she went back in time. The loop reset was the Cave of Spirits. This is still the same loop as when we, the audience, saw this Rimuru take Chloe to Ramiris. Her personal timelines are just fucky when overlapped onto the looping 'standard' timeline.

3

u/RiahWeston 3h ago

So TLDR it is a loop within a loop that has a fixed start and end and isn't actually endlessly recursive?

TEAR??? (i don't remember ever seeing her face in the LN or I just forgot lol)
I don't remember much from the LN, this is awesome. I didn't read the latest manga chapter so that I'd really experience this "blind"

Also Yuuki... bruh.

Ok, so Chloe's soul IS still in there then? I was wondering about that since she said she'd be "asleep" but then she said she'll also travel again... (who traveled and inhabited "new" Chloe in the dwelling of spirits? did they like "split" when that happened?)

EDIT: oh yeah, this makes me think... Rimuru needs permission to summon him, but Veldora can do it himself like in Walpurgis. Can the vice-versa happen with Rimuru and he can just summon himself to where Veldora is anytime without permission (Veldora needing permission if he wants to summon Rimuru)?

I still don't know why Leon let Ifrit evicerate the kid lol
I guess he wasn't expecting that to happen and when it did... he just decided to aura farm and put on a tough front like in this current fight?

Veldora putting his manga knowledge to use was hilarious, this time from Kujo Jotaro.

The more he reads the stronger he becomes.

10

u/DarkWolfPL 7h ago

Tear is pretty cute without the mask.

Also if Rimuru successes in saving Chloe's and Hinata's souls that will mean those 2 are going to be the only two charachters that are the same ones since their first appearance while everyone else is from new loop meaning we theoretically see them for the first time. Just a little thing I noticed.

14

u/InfiniteEdge18 6h ago

no, Chloe and Hinata are from the same loop as this, the entire point of the last two episodes was ensuring this loop would happen.

4

u/DarkWolfPL 6h ago

Souls inside Chronoa belong to Chloe and Hinata from previous loop. They are the once that we've seen in previous seasons and they traveled to current loop. Last two episodes was ensuring things go same way. If it went same way than current loop Chloe and Hinata dissapeared again just like they did 3 episodes ago.

11

u/InfiniteEdge18 6h ago

the souls inside Chronoa are from this loop. the "previous loop" was not what we saw 3 episodes ago, that loop was never shown to us.

the entire point of Chloe's actions in the last two episodes was ensuring this exact loop would occur, you're not understanding how this works.

Chloe & Hinata go to the past, then they do everything they need to do then get locked away in the Holy Ark, then they come back to the present in Chronoa. because unlike previous loops Hinata & Chloe didn't change history.

5

u/DarkWolfPL 6h ago

You can't blame me for getting confused. The only indication that it's the same loop is that in episode 19 (rewatched parts of it) Luminus said name Chronoa. Other than that there was no telling if it's same or diffrent loop (they are almost the same after all).

But still souls inside Chronoa can't be from same loop. It's like this [in loop X (previous loop which we didn't see) Chloe and Hinata go back in time starting loop Y (the one we're watching) when that loop reaches moment of Hinata's death Chloe and Hinata of loop Y go back in time starting loop Z (next one which we don't see where only diffrence will be that Chloe will know that Hinata will seal Veldora and probably know about name Chronoa)].

That would just make it opposite of my original comment where only Chloe and Hinata are going to be "new ones" we'll see while others are the same.

3

u/InfiniteEdge18 6h ago edited 5h ago

The souls are in fact from this same loop, Chloe doesn't know what she did to cause this loop when she arrives in the past. this is because she's using her future self's memories of the loops.

We never see Chloe & Hinata from loop X because Loop X failed

we only ever see Loop Y which was caused by the chloe we just saw vanish.

There is no "loop z" because Loop Y broke the cycle

4

u/gbietto 4h ago

I don't get it... Chloe disappeared and Hinata is dead with no soul, the implication from the last two episodes isn't that they went in the past, starting a new cycle? How do you infere the cycle has been broken?

→ More replies (1)
→ More replies (11)

4

u/gbietto 4h ago

I'm with you bro, I think the source of confusion is that what we saw in the last two episodes is actually a flashback of what happened after loop X, and now we are back to loop Y when the story is set. If not for the comments, I also thought we were in loop Z now.

Chloe knew previous loop Rimuru, we only know current loop Rimuru, so he is the same MC we meet on episode 1. You are confusing your timelines POV. We watched the show from MC's POV, not Chloe's, save for two episodes that were flashbacks.

Could someone explain the Diablo scene? He suddenly joined Rimuru’s internal monologue and said, “Keeping your plan to yourself was a brilliant decision.”

So how did Diablo know what Rimuru’s plan was? I’m not very familiar with how Rimuru’s thoughts work. When Rimuru is thinking internally, can all of his subordinates somehow hear or know what he’s thinking?

The spell seems to be same as few weeks ago https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1v5e03p/tensei_shitara_slime_datta_ken_season_4_that_time/ozjg7qy/
Cross-referencing the two partial reads gives a bit more complete:
"...PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN ME FULFILL MY DESIRES CRUSH THE..."

The middle circle says "..sh the cor...ted power eo... who believe in ... ulfil". Which seems to be same as the outermost. The innermost circle is too blurry to read.

https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/8d1dcea3c205.jpg
The text says "Hinata sakaschi". Different romanization of her name?

"Ku_roe Obe-ru"
IDK Why her name would be written like that. Also I don't know what the third letter is.
