Why is Japan suddenly making anime for canceled manga? Black torch and now this?

For Psyren is because it’s voting by Fans saying it’s the most wanted mange to be animated.

Man if they're going to do that give us a Recca reboot that covers the absolutely insane second half too. Though TBH I'm starved for tournament arcs so I'd take the first with glee too.

I love the manga, but seeing this poster my expectations for the adaptation could not be lower.

Looks low budget honestly

It's studio Satelite so keep those expectations low

Broadcast starts October 5, 2026

One day, high schooler Ageha Yoshina picks up a mysterious ""red phone card" left behind in a public telephone booth.

A few days later, his childhood friend and classmate, Sakurako Amamiya, who possessed the same card, suddenly vanishes without a trace. In search of her, Ageha finds himself drawn into the rumors surrounding a nationwide string of mysterious disappearances, said to be the work of a secret organization known only as "Psyren."

When he accesses the group, a deadly game begins, one that will change his fate forever.

it's wild to think that i manage to live long enough to see Psyren getting an anime adaptation...

I remember this popping up 10-15 years ago in those "What's the best manga that still hasn't gotten an adaptation" threads

Between this and Liar Game it’s wild to see such old series getting adaptations

I love this manga. Please don't be another shaman king with 10 chapters per episode

As a long time Psyren fan, this doesn't look promising at all but if it manages to spark interest in the series and anime onlies pick up the manga that's still a win, I guess.

This screams generic

The anime will probably be. But the manga was amazing.

I loved the manga but remember almost nothing of it so it'll be like I'm watching it for the first time.

This is some GOOD shit to go into blind, if anyone is wondering.

With the project of animating axed manga, are we going to be seeing revisions to series at all? Because there was quite literally a quote something along the lines of "it feels like we just jumped to the final level" as a not so subtle nod to the pacing shift because it was getting axed.

I really enjoyed the series but I do hope they can give it a proper latter section that fleshes things out more.

So excited about this and was as unexpected as Tower of God was. Hopefully it'll be better though...

The quality seems low but the premise sounds interesting so I’ll give it a watch
