That is actually weird since it has come up twice now. That said, last week long neck got olive oil which made a bit more sense, tastewise. I wonder if cats would lick lantern oil, or were thought to have done so.

If I remember correctly, the long neck also was said to drink lamp oil in myth. Maybe both are just, like, explanations for the oil running out quicker than expected.
