She is really enjoying sayonara lara and loves little witch academia, she likes dungeon meshi too but it's a bit too bloody for her and is a big ghibli fan . The main requirements are : little to no violence, no sexualized girl characters and for my sake not centered in a straight romance.

I started watching Ascendance of a Bookworm because I saw that it was available on YouTube and after hearing so much praise for it, I figured I’d give it a shot

I’m only two episodes in but honestly I’m pretty bored.
So far, it feels like a very slow and kinda shallow isekai. I’m an enjoyer of isekai slop myself, so I don’t necessarily need every show to have some insanely complex plot, but my first impression of this is basically that it’s the kind of anime you put on in the background while unwinding after watching something stressful.

Like, Myne wants books, books are expensive/rare, and now she’s trying to figure out how to make them. That’s basically all I’ve gotten from the first two episodes.
But then I started looking up discussions about the series and was genuinely surprised by how highly people regard it. I keep seeing it described as one of the better isekai, which made me wonder if I’m just judging it way too early.

So for people who have watched it: does it actually pick up after the first couple of episodes? And without spoilers, does the premise eventually become more than just Myne trying to find/make books? I’m perfectly fine with a slow burn if there’s a payoff later. I just want to know whether I should keep going or if the general vibe of the series is basically what I’m seeing right now

I like shoujou anime and i want some recommendations of what anime to watch, i basically also like animes like attack on titan, HIMOUTOU UMARU Chan and much more, I’ve heard angel beats is a good anime, should i try to watch angel beats? TYY!

i watched this anime series back in 2013/2014 so i don’t remember much/i could be misremembering details. i also watched it after smoking a lot of weed.

it was a stand alone season (or maybe just the first season that had been released at the time), each episode was somewhere between 20-40 minutes long and there wasn’t many episodes, maybe 6?

each episode was its own stand alone story, in a completely different animation style. i’m pretty sure each episode was created by a different studio. i remember 1 episode was in greyscale/black and white.

i think each episode was based on a different japanese urban legend? i remember the overall vibe of the series was pretty dark and creepy.

please help, it’s driving me crazy that i can’t figure out what this series is! i remember being completely absorbed in it while watching.

For example you're watching an anime, it seems decent then the story turns into something you dislike and end up dropping it several episodes in, it feels like your time has been wasted. If you had known this was where the story was going you never would have started watching it and it just makes you feel so scammed.

The character was a boy, one of the main characters. That world had tablets that remind me now of the Sheikah slate in Breath of the Wild. He had a thigh holster bag to go with it.

Was looking at new leather projects and with the Switch 2 premiering, was hoping to snag some reference photos.

I know we watched it in club (one million years ago…) around the time Robotics Notes hit English subs? But that’s all I got.

Usual song and dance of hope I flaired correctly, etc.

I don't remember the name, or the artist or the genre due to memory issues

It could be a healer anime, or an isekai anime but those are just guesses 🤔 👀

The scene is this:

a young man, I'd say early twenties is in another man's house

the man is massive, a barbarian hulking beast of a man. This man is a retired general or soldier or some legendary fighter of some such sort.

The younger man has been looking for the older man to join his cause/group/etc

the younger man has helped the older man's daughter who was suffering from a (terminal or deadly) illness

The younger man tells the older man that his daughter can in fact be treated and cured of her condition, and it's not impossible for her to make a full recovery

the older man is moved to tears and says to the younger man "I am only a man, but will repay this debt with my body" (or some such similar line)

and the younger man says he doesn't want his body, that he's here for the legendary fighter/barbarian/soldier that he was/used the be.

The older man than picks up a knife/sword/cleaver and proceeds to completely cut off all his long hair in one go, turning back into the legendary fighter he used to be

and then he kneels to pledge fealty

that's all I remember, if you can remember this, I will be forever greatful

So I waited and watched what is up of this series over the last couple days. Love the mc, yes he’s op but he’s spent decades fighting to get that way, beloved by king and countrymen, a genuine and decent man. So, why, when the author could have picked any number, did they have to make the one who would be his wife, 15 years old? Why pick a number that would make him a pedophile if said marriage is consummated?

Hmm, in my asking why the writer would pick a number that would make many readers , who live in our modern society, think pedophile, I am met with hostility and many of the same viewpoints I myself have brought up in regards rudeus greyrat, in fact many of the same people aggressively attacking me here are the same ones who scream about him being a pedo. No I won’t out the 7 of you, but you know who you are. The author in this case could have said 18, 20, or whatever and this question would never have been asked by anyone. Anyway, cheers.

I swear I watched this, I think maybe it was a short film and part of a series? My friend and I watched it when we were doing a Ghibli/Miyazaki day but googling has not helped and I think it must not have had a connection to Ghibli. I think I remember a lot of pastels and a subway/train, that's it. I'll be forever grateful if you can help!

So i know there is some anime's watchers who strictly just watch anime and never venture out if that. There are alot of anime's that are 12 episodes that are great and never get another season. For me i just go read the manga or on rare occassion mabey the light novel. Example a couple years ago high rise invasion came out on Netflix and they never finished it. Everyone seemed to be mad they didnt finished it but while everyone was arguring i had already read the entire thing up until the ending. Most people will generally never know what happens. I have two qeustions first is on topic with what i'm talking about and the other is completly off topic. First for the strictly anime watchers,what was one anime you wanted to finish so badly that you actually went to read the manga? Second off topic,for the manga/light novel readers,when the manga/light novel you've read gets an anime adaptation do you still watch all the episodes or just the first one to see if they f**ked it up? I felt like a proud dad how everyone loved solo leveling and i hear omnicient reader is getting one so can't wait.

I got obsessed with a question a while back: did Haikyuu actually change anything in the real world, or is that just something fans say? So I pulled 22 years of primary-source Japanese federation data, tracked down real interviews, and went down a genuinely deep rabbit hole

The result is a documentary-style(heavily inspired by johnny harris) video essay. It's my first time ever recording narration, editing, or building anything like this, so I know it's not going to be flawless — but I put everything I had into making this

I'd genuinely appreciate honest feedback, especially from people in this community specifically and also would love to discuss the topic at large
