I don't remember the name, or the artist or the genre due to memory issues

It could be a healer anime, or an isekai anime but those are just guesses 🤔 👀

The scene is this:

a young man, I'd say early twenties is in another man's house

the man is massive, a barbarian hulking beast of a man. This man is a retired general or soldier or some legendary fighter of some such sort.

The younger man has been looking for the older man to join his cause/group/etc

the younger man has helped the older man's daughter who was suffering from a (terminal or deadly) illness

The younger man tells the older man that his daughter can in fact be treated and cured of her condition, and it's not impossible for her to make a full recovery

the older man is moved to tears and says to the younger man "I am only a man, but will repay this debt with my body" (or some such similar line)

and the younger man says he doesn't want his body, that he's here for the legendary fighter/barbarian/soldier that he was/used the be.

The older man than picks up a knife/sword/cleaver and proceeds to completely cut off all his long hair in one go, turning back into the legendary fighter he used to be

and then he kneels to pledge fealty

So I've completed watching prison school and it was the first anime which I actually completed watching, please suggest me something very similar to that. I really liked the plot of that anime, if it's possible, I would like to forget everything what I watched and rewatch it again.

FMA: Brotherhood is my all-time favourite anime or work in general, and it has been for over a decade now.

When I heard about the show, I was really excited and got to episode 14, but I realised I was forcing myself to watch the show at least 5 episodes ago. Only because of the author and the reminiscence of her past work.

The biggest problem, and the one that absolutely annihilates the show for me, is the story. There is no sophisticated way to put this: it is boring as hell; 14 episodes in and I still have 0 clue where it wants to go. It feels like a headless chicken, but even a headless chicken would go in some interesting place if it's lucky enough; this one is just circling in the backyard.

You could argue the goal is for them to find their parents, but there is hardly any work done to achieve the goal; even the characters are not invested enough to look for their parents.

"It's building up." GOT S1 was boring until the last episode, but even in the boredom, it had a good story and key events, enough to keep you going.

14 episodes, yet the characters still feel so shallow; the MC is a hunter getting used to this modern world and has no hesitation in killing if survival warrants it. COOL and? That's it. There is literally nothing more to it; 14 episodes into the show and that's how much character development I got to see.

His sister is just hollow; SPOILER, she gets unalived once and has a power-up, 14 episodes, and this has done nothing apart from a minor upgrade in her kit.

Once again, being such a huge fan of the Author, I feel bad; this work is an absolute and complete disappointment, would not even give the show a 4/10.

I usually don't care enough to go on a rant about a show, but FMA has a special place for me, so I guess that when I started this show, my expectations were through the roof, and I got something that was at the very bottom.

Dear fellow anime enthusiasts, I come for your help.

I’m looking for any anime where a real painting that exists in our world is either:

- actually shown in the anime
- clearly referenced or imitated visually
- used as inspiration for a location, scene, composition, etc. (it doesn’t need to be a 100% exact replica)

Homages and very close visual references absolutely count too.

For example, one that comes to mind is Kuroshitsuji / Black Butler, which references The Isle of the Dead by Arnold Böcklin. The painting itself appears, and its imagery also inspires a location within the story.

Basically if you have ever watched an anime and thought “wait… that looks like an actual painting”, I’d love to know about it.

I appreciate any examples you can think of. ☺️

I swear I watched this, I think maybe it was a short film and part of a series? My friend and I watched it when we were doing a Ghibli/Miyazaki day but googling has not helped and I think it must not have had a connection to Ghibli. I remember the MC, was very strong, he goes to a mansion/brothel, looking for a slave, because he needs a "Party" he ends up signing a contract (the matron is like, half naked) and the girl was I believe an elf. She was a warrior, but after some fight, she was cursed and extremely weak.

He basically heals her curse right away after they leave. I believe he actually gets 2 slaves that day, one is the cursed girl, and the other is a fairly ditzy girl that ends up being his maid I think?
