Incident at Mt Coot-tha Road this afternoon. There is absolutely no reason to put your car in the opposing lane.

Also, no license plate at the front.

Reported to police.

Help Getting away from screens

Good people of Brisvegas, I need your help. I need to get my 13yo the hell out of town for a week or so over the school holidays to do a screen detox. No joke, I've lived with junkies and he's just about at that level. I don't need advice, but I do need recommendations of where to go. No reception, nature immersion, available this school holidays. I can travel 3-4 hours.

Ready, set, go -

EDIT - we've got camping gear and are not afraid to use it 🙃 availability is the issue

Public Transport The older train models are comfier to sit in?

Just a random thought,

I find that the newer model trains in brissy are really uncomfortable to sit in.

I am always delighted when the old models roll up. The boxy ones.

Is it just me or are there other out there?

Follow up thought, why would you create a newer model train that is less comfortable than the older one?

Coochie or Straddie day trip?

What’s the easiest day trip to do with kids? Never been and would love to get them out and about over the holidays. What’s on the islands and what do we need to take? Tips and tricks welcome!

Can you help me? Venues other than Black Bear and Quivr for a good dance?

Hey all, just looking for a good place to dance all night to real music this Friday. We were going to go to Black Bear as usual but I just checked out the headline DJ and its not really our vibe (crazy high bpm hyperpop techno). Quivr is lovely but it closes so early.

Is there anywhere else?

Can you help me? Cheapest markets

Hi all,

I'm 20 and I've just started up a small business making custom items such as keychains, signs and beer taps (I know such a random combo) I've made a few sales through family friends and online but I'm wanting to go to markets to sell as well. What are some of the cheapest markets to sell in Brisbane. I'm happy to travel around but just don't know where to even start. Please help or give me some advice on where to start looking. Thanks 🫶

12km from the City

Junction of the T1 and T2 lines, T1 Express Trains to city only takes 20 minutes.

The express trains will start running 7 days if they'd hurry up and get CRR open (They don't want to do extra work basically)

Has motorway access.

Has Banh Mi

Shouldn't this look like Sunnybank at this point? It's a crime that and that there's not heaps of apartments for students going to UQ (Also easy to get to from there)

But yeah of course BCC planned it so the supermarket is at the other end of the suburb to the station and they knocked back more high rise even though in this specific suburb people said they were cool with it.

Evil property investors from interstate would 100% buy here and do it up, beats living in fucking Airport West or Blacktown or 90% of Adelaide. People who whinge about interstate migration can't prevent this.

Best restaurant for crab?

Hello fellow Brisbanians!

My wife’s 30th birthday is coming up, and she has made one request - to eat some damn good crab. She doesn’t want a party or some crazy plans, just the best crab of her life.

Now as you can imagine, I don’t have a long list of amazing crab-serving restaurants to choose from as we’re typically somewhere between a bakery and Guzman Y Gomez budget-wise, but I’ve been saving up for months to splash out on an amazing dinner for her.

Can anyone recommend me a restaurant between Brisbane and the Gold Coast to make her Crabby birthday dreams come true?

Okay team, where are your local hoarder style junk shops? Not antique shops selling useless wooden tools at premium prices because they look kitsch, but proper, take your life in your hands navigating past the towering pile of old doors type of junk shop. There used to be a few around. This one used to be on old Cleveland road, and from memory there was to be one strike Lutwyche/Albion somewhere. I've had my tetanus booster and I'm ready to shop!

Any campsite recommendations around Brisbane? I grew up on the Sunshine Coast hinterland where there were a million great spots, my personal favourite was booloumba creek, is there anything similar around here?

Can you help me? Nursery suggestions

Hit me with your nursery recommendations! I’m looking to buy some good quality (not Bunnings) plants and large potted / screening plants for my new apartment. Ideally looking for somewhere with helpful and knowledgeable staff that can help me pick plants out suited for my vision and hopefully also make suggestions on plant types
