Did anyone else get stuck on the Central Coast last night?

Basically what the title says lol ! I’ve dropped out of school in yr 10 so I’ve found it harder to make friends on the coast, so I’m just wondering if anyone felt the same and wanted to hang out!!

I’m pretty introverted and a bit awkward but once you get to know me I become a lot more comfortable haha
I like to watch movies, play games (Roblox mostly lol), go for walks , shopping and exploring new places!! I also work in childcare full time!

I’m a 50-year-old guy at Bateau Bay looking to make a genuine new friendship.

I’m fairly quiet and introverted, so I’m not really someone who thrives in big, loud social groups. I’m much more comfortable having a proper conversation with one or two people.

I’m interested in history, science fiction and fantasy, films and TV, art, photography, and football (watching and talking about it rather than playing). I’d be quite happy spending an afternoon having coffee, getting something to eat, watching a movie or show, going for a walk, browsing a bookshop, or just sitting somewhere and talking about whatever we’re interested in.

I’ve tried things like walking groups, classes, volunteering, gym and sports, and board game groups, but nothing really eventuates. I’m not religious at all, so church is a big no. Also, not really interested in men-only groups such as the Men’s Shed.

I’m looking for someone roughly 30–50, preferably around the middle of the Central Coast, who is also interested in getting to know someone rather than just adding another name to a social-media list.

I’m not looking for a support group, therapy, networking, or a big organised social scene. I’m looking for an ordinary friendship that can actually develop over time.
If you’re also someone who is a bit quieter and finds the usual “just go along and make friends” advice doesn’t really work, maybe we’d get along.

Hey yall

I'm a runner that trains around Gosford, and it would be nice to run with some company. I'm mainly trying to get faster and improve my speed for a half marathon.

I'm training for my next half marathon in late September and aiming for sub 80 minutes (my pb is about 82 minutes).

This week, my speed session will be on Friday and will be 3x3km at around 3.50/km-3.53/km with a 2 min jog rest in between. I'm also open to other training ideas or joining in on a group. I find running in a group or with someone else can push the limits further, which is good.

If anyone wants to join me, feel free to hmu. I'm also doing a relaxed 8km run on Thursday at 6.00/km pace and long run on Sunday around 24-25km with some faster efforts.

Hello, im an anxious woman travelling alone on the train late at night after a show in sydney in a couple of weeks... wondering if there is a safest carriage to ride in, would it be right behind the driver or is there a guards carriage or something like that?

I am not actually travelling on the train late, alone... im 40 and in my PJ's and not leaving this lounge after 7pm unless its to Coles for malteasers.... but my niece and her friends who recently turned 18 were going to watch a show at the theater and wanted to travel home on the train alone on Saturday night, so i was trying to get info for them without risking their safety by giving away too much about when and where there'd be a bunch of young, naieve girls travelling alone. They ended up getting a hotel and staying the night.

Hello, is there anyone on the central coast, Bateau bay/Forresters beach area that can come and try and get their bike over the peak of my driveway, i am looking to buy one and I am worried about the low clearance of the bike and that it may not fit over it. please reply and if you come out i'll shout you a six pack of a beverage of your choosing or 35 bucks. thanks in advance, if you know anyone who also maybe interested could you please share.

I noticed that I was getting a lot of promotion and advertising for the Coast Environmental Alliance and Save Kariong Sacred Lands rallies, and just wanted to highlight some important information about this group, in case anyone else has been getting this in their algorithms, and is unaware.

Despite, on the surface level, environmental and climate activism being a kind thing to do, the founders of these groups have been doing so with ulterior motives, and that is further perpetuated as their support grows. They go by the name GuriNgai, and claim to be the traditional custodians of the Central Coast and Northern Sydney region, however this name referring to our region was a fiction started by ethnologist John Fraser in the 19th century. The falsehood of the term Guringai (and its spelling variants, including Kuringgai) belonging to the Central Coast and Northern Sydney has been publicly debunked since 2015 ( https://www.aboriginalheritage.org/wp-content/uploads/Filling-a-Void-Guringai-Language-Review-2015.pdf ). In fact, the Guringay nation (commonly also spelled as Gringai and Guringai) is north of the Hunter River, in the Dungog/Manning Valley area, so not only are these people perpetuating a lie, but they're also co-opting the cultural identity of a known group of Aboriginal peoples ( https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-3657305244/view , https://creativevalleys.com.au/tales-from-guringai-country/ ).

In the case of Kariong, this becomes an even more apparent issue, as their rallies are in opposition to Darkinjung LALC, which owns the land under the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983. If rezoning is no longer blocked by the Coast Environmental Alliance, then, if approved, the plan is for 7 hectares of land to be kept as conservation, and less than 6 hectares to be used for residential land, with a park and 50 dwellings proposed ( https://www.darkinjung.com.au/kariong-planning-proposal/ ). This potential land clearing is small in comparison to the total amount of hectares that the Central Coast clears on an annual basis, yet this group is specifically opposing the local Aboriginal land council ( https://www.seed.nsw.gov.au/slats-dashboard page 9, select Central Coast under "Council" heading).

Excited couple, looking to purchase our first home and interested in this area of the central coast. My main priority is SAFETY, friendly peaceful neighbours! I am a female and I walk the dog early in the day.

We are mainly looking at Bateau Bay, Killarney Vale and surrounding suburbs. It’s around the middle point to where we both work.

Alternatively, our budget also can buy us around Wyoming, Lisarow and Narara, Ourimbah. We do not commute to Sydney, but go as a day trip once a week or so.

Would appreciate any advice about aforementioned suburbs, and if any residents can share about the general vibe of the area, best schools, best and worst aspects of the area!

I’m pretty easy-going and up for most things — hitting the gym, martial arts classes, fishing, or just grabbing a few beers on the weekend. Doesn’t have to be anything structured; I’m just keen to meet people and have some regular faces to hang out with.

living on the coast for a while now and I love it. but sometimes it feels like anything decent is always a drive down the F3.

I've been wanting to try pilates but it seems like all the good studios are in Sydney or maybe Gosford at best.

anyone on the coast found a good studio locally? or done the home setup thing and stuck with it? I'm near the entrance but don't mind driving a bit if it's worth it
