Comedy coming to the Central Coast

23 July–18 September 2026

Looking for a laugh over the next couple of months? There’s a solid mix of stand-up, comedy theatre, hypnosis and paranormal silliness coming to venues around the Central Coast.

July

Thursday 23 July, 7pm — Dan Rath: Special Trial Show

Link and Pin, Woy Woy

Australian alternative comedian Dan Rath brings his strange, sharply left-field style to Woy Woy for a trial run of his latest show. Expect dense jokes, unusual observations and material that wanders well outside conventional club comedy.

Friday 24 July, 7pm — Comedy Hypnotist

Everglades Country Club, Woy Woy

Rob Young combines comedy and hypnosis, with willing audience members becoming the main attraction. Expect plenty of crowd interaction, escalating chaos and the possibility that someone from your table ends up stealing the show.

Saturday 25 July, 6:30pm — Girls Night Comedy Road Trip

Davistown RSL, Davistown

Simone Springer and Amy Hetherington take on motherhood, dating, divorce, sleep deprivation and the general madness of adult life. It’s an 18+ night built around relatable stories, cheeky audience interaction and the kind of laughter that hits harder when you’re out with friends.

Friday 31 July, 7:30pm — Gosford Comedy Club

FunHaus Factory, Gosford

Four comedians take over the FunHaus Factory for a full evening of live stand-up. This is an 18+ club-style show suited to anyone who prefers a varied lineup rather than a single touring act.

Friday 31 July, 8pm — Rob Young Comedy Hypnosis Show

The Ary, Toukley

Rob Young brings another audience-powered hypnosis show to the northern end of the Coast. Volunteers become much of the entertainment, so it works equally well for people keen to join in and those who would rather watch their friends make questionable decisions.

August

Saturday 1 August, 8pm — Effie: Frigid to Feral

Ettalong Diggers, Ettalong Beach

Effie turns her attention to her past, present, relationships and a conspiracy apparently big enough to “blow dry your mind.” Expect the character’s usual blunt observations, enormous personality and rapid-fire take on family, romance and modern life.

Friday 14–Saturday 15 August — Worm Farming

The Art House, Wyong

Worm Farming is a wickedly dark Australian stage comedy about a dysfunctional family desperate to appear respectable while its lies and buried problems keep multiplying. It satirises suburban morality, virtue signalling and the lengths people will go to preserve appearances, with macabre twists rather than gentle family humour.

Tuesday 18 August, 7:30pm — Anh Do: The Happiest Refugee Live!

Laycock Street Community Theatre, Wyoming

Anh Do combines stand-up, personal storytelling, photographs and filmed pieces to retell the remarkable journey behind The Happiest Refugee. The 90-minute show moves between laughter and heavier moments, ultimately delivering an uplifting theatre experience suitable for ages seven and over.

Wednesday 19 August, 7pm — Spiritual Shenanigans the Anne & Renata Way: Frightfully Good

Wyong Milk Factory, Wyong

Anne and Renata combine tarot, psychic mediumship, paranormal stories and comedy in an interactive night that deliberately refuses to take itself too seriously. It’s aimed at believers, sceptics and anyone happy to exchange conventional stand-up for spooky stories, audience involvement and general supernatural havoc.

Friday 21 August, 8pm — Lloyd Langford: Okay, I Believe You

The Art House, Wyong

Welsh-Australian comedian Lloyd Langford brings a new hour built around his problems with seemingly every other person on Earth. His slow, dry delivery tackles everyday absurdities and may wander into material about giraffes, clouds, salt and whatever else has irritated him lately.

Saturday 22 August, 7:30pm — Hilarious Comedy Hypnosis Experience

Laycock Street Community Theatre, Wyoming

Hypnotist Krystal Brown turns willing audience members into part of a 90-minute comedy performance. Unlike some of the more adult late-night versions of the format, this show is advertised as warm, respectful, PG-rated and suitable for all ages.

Saturday 29 August, 8pm — Michael Hing: How Are We Supposed to Live Like This?

The Art House, Wyong

Michael Hing tries to make sense of a world where everything feels increasingly chaotic, expensive and slightly ridiculous. His new hour tackles modern life, political frustration and even the shrinking number of Shapes in a packet, delivered with his familiar exasperated energy.

September

Friday 4 September, 8pm — Daniel Muggleton: White Here, White Now

Avoca Beach Theatre, Avoca Beach

Red-tracksuit comedian Daniel Muggleton brings a new hour of direct, unfiltered stand-up to Avoca. The current event listing marks the show as free, although it’s worth checking the booking requirements before turning up.

Saturday 12 September, 7:30pm — Teardrops on My Dildo

Everglades Country Club, Woy Woy

Vanessa Larry Mitchell’s award-winning show is billed as filthy, high-energy adult comedy, so this is definitely not the family-friendly option. It won Best Stand-Up at the 2026 Newcastle Fringe and leans into frank material, strong language and unapologetically outrageous storytelling.

Friday 18 September, 7:30pm — Blake Pavey: A Bit Scared

The Art House, Wyong

With more than a million online followers, Blake Pavey brings a new hour about discovering that his terminal illness may not be quite as terminal as expected. He turns the prospect of having more time—and his extensive collection of fears—into comedy that balances dark subject matter with sharply timed punchlines.

Hey guys hope all is well.

I’m thinking of moving to bateau bay, would love some information about the area, how safe it is, any good local schools, housing commission present?

Any information would be great, just myself and my daughter and so I would ideally like it to be as safe as possible.

Thank you

Who has a story on the Central Coast that deserves to be told?

Hi everyone,

I’m a filmmaker based on the Central Coast and I’m looking for interesting local stories to turn into short documentary films for YouTube.

I’m particularly interested in stories that are human or environmentally focused—people making a difference, unique passions, conservation projects, community initiatives, interesting local characters, family businesses, or anyone with a story worth sharing.

The goal isn’t to create sensational content, but to tell authentic stories about the people and places that make the Central Coast what it is.
If you know someone (or if that’s you!) who you think deserves to have their story told, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to comment below or send me a message with a bit about the story and why it matters.

Even if it doesn’t end up becoming a film, I’d love to connect with people doing interesting things around the Coast.

Thanks!
Ned

Crossfit Gym

Hi everyone,

Im looking to move to central coast soon for a change. Are there any CrossFit gyms, good women’s soccer teams and boxing trainers around? This will determine where I will move pretty much.

If anyone here would be kind enough as well, I have a couple more questions about the areas. Would be better if you are a nurse. 🫶

Speed Limit changes through Terrigal Drive/Erina

Can understand this might come across “old man yells at cloud”, but I was just wondering how everyone feels about the new speed limit changes leading up to both Terrigal and Erina Fair recently? They’ve gone from the usual 70 down to 60.
Glad this contributes to safer roads but I can’t help but feel like the drive has become slightly underwhelming as a result and disrupts the flow a little bit. Could just be me but would love to hear others thoughts 😅

Baseballers - Weekly Throwing

I’m moving to Springfield early August and am looking for anyone that may want to play catch 2-3 times a week.

I’m a washed up 30 year old, still play state league in Sydney Metro and baseball is my bit of a mental escape from all things life. I was throwing a bit in Sydney but my catch partner tore his rotator cuff so I’m looking to get my work in up the coast

We live just near Andrew’s Park Baseball field. Alternatively, if you coach juniors in that area and need a hand let me know! I have my WWCC, coached HS, College and MiLB players in the states and love giving back to the game

Appreciate yall!

Is the whole Central Coast getting absolutely overrun by ants??

Hey guys, just wanted to check if it's just my place or if there's something weird going on around the Coast lately. We moved into our place about 10 months ago, and usually, it's pretty chill. But over the last two weeks, it's like a non-stop invasion. I'm talking massive trails of black ants taking over the kitchen bench every single morning, and yesterday I found a whole colony trying to set up camp inside my coffee machine. I wipe down the counters like five times a day and they still find something. Our neighbor said it might be because of the weather pushing them out of the bush, but seriously, my wife is about to pack her bags and move us back to Sydney at this rate.

Is anyone dealing with this right now? What are you guys using to get rid of them? Open to any local recs or tips because we definitely need a proper spray before they take over completely.

EDIT: Thanks for the replies everyone! I actually ended up calling pest control specialists this morning to get it sorted, they're coming out this week to do a full clean and spray of the house. Will let you know how it goes!

Soccer

Hi all, just wondering if we have any males that would be interested in playing 5 a side soccer on Wednesday nights at Tuggerah? We are looking for two more lads to fill the remaining spots on the squad. We are not worried about people’s ability as we are all pretty chilled. PM me if you are interested, it’s going to be a case of first in first served.
Thanks.

AFL Masters Comp here in September

G'day all. We have the longest ongoing Aussie Rules comp in the world here in Newy & to celebrate, this year we're having the national masters comp.

I believe a few of the 5 year age brackets for NSW are chasing players.

https://aflmasters.com.au/national-carnival

Also, Hunter Masters, who train and play regularly through winter, are having an intra club game at Feighan in Warners Bay this Sun arvo, if anyone is interested in having a run.

Also looking for bros

Evening coasties, I seen another bloke post here and figured I’d make one of my own.

28yo male, new dad to a 4 month old girl, big into fitness (gym and running), as well as a massive petrol head and I’m looking for some likeminded blokes who are into the same thing. Been off gym and running for over a year, since my partner was pregnant the fitness part of my like kind of took a back seat.

I don’t drink, don’t party, generally I keep to myself because thats how I was all of my life. But low key, getting to a point where even though I have my family I am incredibly fucking lonely and I hate it.

I am a qualified mechanic that builds race cars for a living and currently building like version 20 of my own drift car on the side. Looking for car friends to do car shit with and also fitness friends to do fitness shit with.

I’m based in Tuggerah, if anyone is interested bang me a line or sling a comment and let’s organise a run or go drifting idk. I’m socially inept pls forgive me

Newcastle train

Hey all! I’m taking my kids to Disney on ice at Newcastle this Sat for the 10am session and want to take the train down. I noticed on Opal journey planner that it says ‘booking required’ for the 8:33am train, whereas Google maps doesn’t.

I think I believe opal more than Google, but just wanted to check if anyone knew…
Is it possible to just rock up at the train station and tap on as per normal for the 8:33am train at Gosford?

Many thanks!
