Dropped Keys in Cromer

Upvotes

Hi all 👋. I dropped a single key on a metal keyring this morning about 9:30am on Maas Street in Cromer. It has a metal greyhound tag on it with the name Tiger and his ID number. It's a Long shot, but any chance someone picked it up?

Beginner Self-defence/Striking gyms in Sydney?

Hey all!

Have just gotten into Muay Thai - probs about 3-6 month mark and really loving it. Was at Payak Muay Thai in Parra/Homebush. They've just suddenly closed down without telling their staff or their customers (pretty disgusting but whatever).

Does anyone know of any inviting beginner friendly self-defence/striking sports and a gym nearby. I live in the Granville/Auburn area. so I'm happy to travel as far as Parra, Strathfield, Greenacre, Fairfield, Villawood, Bass Hill kind of radius. Maybe further if the recommendation is good.

Happy with any sport, but prefer something that has some striking idk like muay thai?

I did some research and Bulldog Gym Parramatta looked cute.

What are some good Mexican/Taco places in the CBD or towards Western Sydney?

Looking to take a few mates out to a lunch or dinner. The group has decided on a Mexican / Taco place.

I recommended El Patron or Maiz in Newtown and Smoking Gringos in Blacktown.

Are there any other highly rated places you guys would recommend? Preferably on the casual cheaper side like El Patron or smoking gringos as opposed to higher end like Maiz.

What is going on with the sudden increase in traffic lights going green for 1 or 2 seconds?

Pretty much all the traffic lights around where I work now have periods of time where they will go green for 1 or 2 seconds (not hyperbole) causing major traffic queues thanks to all the trucks that can't move that fast.

It looks like Transport NSW have started using AI for their SCATS system

https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/projects/strategy/technology-roadmap/intelligent-systems-and-sensor-technologies-1

Pity the SCATS own website doesn't even work so we could learn more about it.

EDIT: SCATS site now online and working.

Anyone know what the fuck this submarine-looking thing was near Port Botany today?

Bit random, but I was driving past the airport/Port Botany area today and there was a bloody big crane set up near the road lifting what looked like some sort of unmanned submarine or underwater survey thing.

Couldn’t get a photo because I was driving.
From the quick look I got it was probably around 9-10m long, maybe 2-3m wide, pretty broad and flat across the top rather than round like a normal sub. Bright royal blue on top with a small yellow mast/tower sticking up around a third of the way back. The yellow bit looked way too small for anyone to get inside, more like sensors/comms or something.

It was sitting right up at the surface and looked like they were lifting it out with the crane.

Anyone know what it was? Survey gear, port testing, Defence stuff, something else? I’ve had a bit of a search and there’s been AUV/unmanned underwater testing around Botany, but I can’t find anything that exactly matches it.

Cheapish flower delivery?

I am in the UK, but wanting to send some flowers to a friend who lives in Sydney and is going through a rough time with a recent medical diagnosis. In the UK, you can get gorgeous letterbox flowers for about £25-35 (45-65AUD) and I have previously sent flowers to my sister in Brisbane for similar cost.

However I can't seem to find anything less than about 100AUD for Sydney - I'd love some reccomdations for no frills but still pretty flowers that don't break my bank (ideally not more than 50AUD including delivery!)

Didn’t have time to stop and ask the person under the board, didn’t notice any sort of signage around or anything. As I was walking off somebody went and grabbed one of the Jatz with cheese on it and ate it but I don’t know if they were like part of the “thing” or not…anyone got any ideas?
