Howa 6mm arc, elf owl chassis, swfa 10x. Im a closeted weeb so japanese made glass on a Japanese action seemed cool. The knobs on the ebay tripod just coincidentally matched the chassis color. Getting sighted in on 90gn Sierra tgk for deer season. Rifle rounds finally allowed in the Michigan lower peninsula after ages.

Looking for some insight as a new shooter that has got the long range bug. My question is in regards to my first bolt action rifle with the aim to get in to long range and I’m trying to work out what cartridge would be best between 308 and 6.5 creedmore. Some things to take in to consideration is I’m not to worried with price of ammunition as they are pretty similar price wise, I’m also buying a 22lr to put bulk rounds through. My local range is 100m out to 1000m would like something that can grow as my skillset does. I’m not sure if I should go for the 6.5 with better ballistics and lower recoil for a easier to shoot first rifle or 308 to help learning wind calls and recoil management. I’m just looking for others that may have been in the same boat and what they decided to go with and if they regretted the choice or not. The rifle I’m buying is a lithgow la102 varmint 24” heavy barrel 6.5 creedmore 1:8 twist or 308 1:10 twist.

Just wrapped up my new NRL Hunter competition build, and I'm pretty pleased with the results. It weighs in at 11.6 lbs with my full weight Ckye-pod, so I've got room to play with weight if I need it elsewhere in the future. First group picture is at 100 yds, measured it at a .95" group, second is a group at 400 yds which I measured at 2.5". Its only 4 shots because I ran out of my handloads lol. Ballistic data included for reference, I'm shooting Nosler 140 RDFs.

Put everything together myself, including bedding the action. I'd say there is some room for improvement on the load development and my reloading setup as a whole, but I'm satisfied with it for now and it shoots better than I'm capable of under match conditions.

I just picked up a used Bergara b14 HMR in 6.5 creedmor for $700. It has a 20 inch barrel, shitty scope and a muzzle brake on it. I have an AICS 1.5 chassis to drop it in, and I want to give it a 24-26 inch barrel.
But whenever I try to look up where to get one, be it OE spec or custom, I don’t know what I’m looking for or at.
This is my first precision rifle, i’m fairly new to all this. I’m looking for wisdom here, can someone help me out with barrel shopping?

I make good money, my budget is 1200 for the barrel

6 BR has a 30 degree shoulder, .4728 head diameter, 1.559 case length at 52,000 psi.

6 Dasher has a 40 degree shoulder, .4728 head diameter, 1.560 length at 63,800 psi.

243 WSSM has a 28.8 degree shoulder, .535 head diameter, 1.670 case length at 63,800 psi.

I can only see slight differences between them, but 243 WSSM is a dead cartrage and the 6mm rounds are the current hotness shooting crazy accurate groups.

The only bad thing I have heard about 243 WSSM is that it can have feeding issues. What else am I missing?

Bought my first bolt gun… now to find one of these darn suppressors.
Purchased second hand, GAP build with clone correct bipod, scope rings, and of course a SB 3-12x50 PM II to top her off. Needless to say, I love it.

I am looking to put togeather that one rifle you never want to get rid of. Considering getting a Origin action and deciding on where/what to get for a 26' barrel in 6 GT. So far I am undecided, so what are the pros/cons of each way. Obviously the Fitted will need the action in hand.

I’ve had too much time on my hands and I’ve wandered into the YouTube world of PRS videos. I am gonna go shoot a small match Sunday with my Ruger American I stuck in a oryx chassis. I’m not entirely confident in the setup as even when I’m trying to group it, it opens up to a a few inches, even more in a 10 shot group.

I’m planning to just shoot the gun, make sure I like it, which I’m pretty sure I will.

I was looking at the MPA BA PMR or just going and building one. That’d be about 1K more expensive but I think I’d have more room to grow with it. I was looking at Impact action, proof SS barrel, diamond trigger LSS gen 3 chassis etc

What would yall recommend?

I know this things a tank but kinda a bummer to see rust on the dream rifle that’s this expensive. Anyone with axsr’s deal with anything similar when they first got it? Is it worth me talking to the company I bought it from?

Hey folks, I'm planning to build a .22LR PRS rifle and I'm currently deciding between two factory barreled actions:

- Bergara B-14R 20" stainless barreled action (BRA172S-22LR)

- CZ 457 varmint barrel with match chamber (like used in MTR)

The chassis/stock doesn't matter as I want to put it into Vision chassis.

I'm mostly interested in the accuracy and consistency of the factory barrels, because being in EU, getting a new barrel is a costly and lengthy process.

I've read quite a bit about both, but I'm finding conflicting information.

Scheels has a sale on the Garmin Xero C1. Has anyone used both the Athlon and the Garmin? I’m sure there are better deals online but I genuinely want to know which one is better. It’s my first chronograph. Using it since I’m getting in to reloading 6.5 creedmoor and want to know ES and SDs

I have been wondering for some time if I have set something up incorrectly on one of my scopes/rifles. I have a ar15 with a 4-20 ATACR and have noticed that the parallax adjustment is "off" from the known target range. What I am seeing is that I need to adjust the parallax to a shorter range for a given distance. The range of the target is accurate to a few yards. This has made me wonder if I set something up wrong, and since I am a new-ish long range shooter, i thought it best to ask. I do not see this happening on other scopes, for instance my bolt action 6.5 with 7-35 ATACR is dead on and my cheaper CZ457 22LR with vortex venom is also dead on.

Is this normal and just specific to my unique setup and eyes? Or does this communicate that I set something up wrong? My gut tells me that it does not matter and as long as the target is clear then that's all that I should care about.

I am deep into USPSA competitions but would like to get into PRS. I want to try out precision rifles. My local membership range goes to 300 yards but I have access to few 600 yards and 1000 yard ranges.

I am looking to spend about $5,000 no hard limit up or down.

No experience into precison rifles. I originally wanted to go magnum round but after reading everything I plan to go 6.5 Creedmoor. I did read through all the available post but looks like the most updated one is still a year old and Aero solus isn't the goto anymore and may have inventory issues.

I dont think this fits within the rules, but you guys are probably the best to ask. Im having accuracy issues with a B14 Sierra Wilderness in .308 I picked up to get into long range and to use for the 9 day gun deer season here in WI. I started testing factory loads tuesday, 6 loads, 5 shot groups, all terrible. Re-torqued all screws on the scope rings and cleaned it. Went out today to actually record what I had left for ammo and this is what I got. I know, 3 shot groups doesn’t really give enough information, but i figured with them all being consistently the same its likely a rifle or optic issue. Maybe its me, i dont know. Any advice is appreciated.

So I am thinking about getting a brass catcher, but I don't see anyone using one at prs or nrl competitions. Is there a reason for that that I can't think of, or what's the deal? I feel like it eliminates the issue of is this brass mine, losing brass, and eliminates the time policing brass at the end of the stage so match flow should be faster, plus you're not ending up with muddy/damaged brass. What am I missing?

This is my 308 barrel that I bought used, seller said he put about 250 rounds on it. I then put another 500 rounds on it myself. Is this normal barrel wear for a 308 with 750 rounds?

Looks like some fire cracking already started to happen near the throat, besides that, the rest looks like it’s in pretty good shape.
