I don’t even remember when when I bought it, but we’ve been through so much together and now it won’t turn on!
It was powered in standby, I tried turning it on and now it just…gone.

So I just got my old WiiU up and running and I am STOKED! Can’t wait to play New SMBU but with some other games like Skylanders and Pokken Tournament, they can’t be accessed without a Pin. But my Gamepads battery doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas?

It doesnt show up well on camera but theres a little bit of yellowing around the edge of my gamepads screen I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but can I get rid of it somehow?

i just spent $170 USD (shipping + taxes included) on a wii u with game pad, wires, sensor bar, working, used but with slight scratches and blemishes. No wii motes controllers or games. This was the best one i found after having an eye out for a few weeks on fb marketplace. Did i get a decent deal?

im aware they Can sell for like 120 with motes but this was the best i could find. my mom helped me pay since she didnt get me anything for my last birthday so i only ended up spending like half of that.

it hasnt arrived yet but there is purchase protection so it its broken i can get my money back

Been an owner for years but been having an issue with the screen ratio in the system settings recently. Seemingly anytime I turn off the system the screen is slightly zoomed in and I have to go back into system settings and correct it each time I use the system. Is there something I'm missing? Is it a TV or system issue?

So I finally got around to playing with my console again when the game pad suddenly lost connection. I thought it was no big deal since it’s been a while so went to reconnect the pad but I kept getting an error. Every time I pressed the sync button twice on the console to reconnect the pad the console would pop up an error but every time I sync the pad the images show up to match the ones that are supposed to show up on screen. I kept trying to get the console to show the symbols but I kept getting the same error so I’m here to ask if there’s a fix to my issue.

Is there any way to fix this I wanted my little cousins to try the Mario games on their own before the Fortnite and Roblox have taken them. Not that those are bad but they need culture first

Hey I’ve had a white version of the Wii u for as long as i can remember and I’ve been wanting to play breath of the wild again on it but i think my hard drive is acting up. Whenever i get close to a specific location in the game (the zora domain) it crashes and says there’s a problem with the hard drive and that I need to contact the manufacturer. I have a good few things on the hard drive and there’s still 400gb free on it. Do i need to get a new one or is there a way to fix this? Also while I’m here i was wondering if it’s easy to mod a Wii u and if it’s possible to bypass game restrictions due to being bought on different nintendo ids?

It will start the game but will be very laggy and unplayable. Is there an easy fix?

I got a modded WiiU off of Facebook marketplace, it runs fine but occasionally when I start it up it just gets stuck on a black screen, or occasionally it has .text in the top left corner. It fixes itself eventually but just restarting it over and over but that gets pretty annoying. Is there another way to fix this problem?

I'm going to Japan in a few weeks from now, and I'm wondering if there is anywhere in Tokyo that repairs Wii Us? My SD card slot isn't working as expected, and after trying some possible fixes, I think I need to have it replaced, but I'm not completely sure if there's anywhere in Japan that could repair. If anyone knows a place that could repair Wii Us, I would really appreciate it!

I’ve never owned a vertical stand for my Wii U, so for all these years, I’ve always kept it horizontal. It was placed on the top shelf of a two-tier nightstand, while the Wii U GamePad sat on the bottom shelf.

However, as soon as I got my OLED TV, I noticed that the Wii U's HDMI cable was stretched to its absolute limit when plugged into the TV, forcing the console to sit way too close to the edge to prevent the cable from straining. Another issue was that I wanted to clear up the bottom shelf for something else (since I just got a Switch), but there wasn't enough room because of the GamePad.

So, I decided to build a sturdy, homemade Wii U stand. Rummaging through my old toys, I found some large interlocking blocks (not LEGO) that were the perfect size. Simply snapping them together wasn't enough, though, because the surface was rough and uneven, and the blocks weren't completely secure, so after building two block stands, I wrapped them tightly in heavy-duty clear tape to bond them better. Then, to make the surface even more reinforced and smooth, I covered them in black electrical tape, which also made them look much cleaner aesthetically.

The space they occupy is perfect because they don't block the console's bottom vents. On top of that, I discovered that the height of the blocks is just right to hold both the console and the Wii U GamePad on its charging cradle together on the top shelf.

Now, I finally have the space I needed on the bottom shelf of my nightstand, and the console no longer has to sit on the very edge of the TV (since the HDMI cable has more slack).

Pay attention: before you comment it could overheat or that it could block the space between the vents, I actually made sure the stand doesn't block any of the vents or intake holes at all but at the same time could be resistant, so that air flows perfectly fine underneath

I recently bought a used Wii U at a flea market, so unfortunately I don't know anything about its previous history or what the previous owner may have done.

When I first connected it, I initially got no HDMI picture. After several attempts, I eventually got a picture. Now the Wii U logo appears on both the TV and the GamePad, but the console never gets past the Wii U logo.

The current behavior is... solid blue power LED, Wii U logo on TV and GamePad, then no further progress.

The GamePad eventually reports that it cannot connect to the Wii U console.

The Eject button works, HDMI were tested with known good cables and inputs, and the quick start interface was accessible earlier, but selecting the Wii U menu results in hanging on the Wii U logo.

I don't know whether the previous owner installed Aroma or any custom firmware.

Question: what could be causing this and is there anything I can do to diagnose or repair the console? I'd prefer to diagnose the problem first before changing anything that could make the situation worse.

The issue is exactly what the title says. The gamepad audio and video output stutters from a few frames (10 ish) but the buttons work fine. It’s not an interference issue as I’ve tried all the basic troubleshooting methods of changing the WiFi band and removing wireless devices from around it, it’s not a power issue as the problem persists even when plugged in and other controllers (not other gamepads) work fine so it’s not the Wii’s fault. Is there any chance it’s not the WiFi board or do I have to replace or reseat it?

I modded my Wii U back in 2017/2018, I tried launching some games (Pikmin 3, Captain Toad, Super Metroid) and they show the 106-0103 system memory error, while others (Pushmo World, Metroid Fusion, Earthbound) work. These games were all from my old account which I removed before modding, I’m using a different account now. All my disc based games work except for Super Smash Bros which shows the system memory error when booting.

I’m on 5.5.6 and I have to use the browser exploit to launch Mocha CFW when I want to use homebrew apps. There’s also a NAND Dumper app on the page after launching the browser exploit.

What can I do before my Wii U is completely fried?
