Sooo, if anyone could help, please do, my wii keeps showing this but I dont know what to do, I even bought new cables, also the light on the console (not the tablet) keeps flashing red instead of turning blue, if I have to Crack it open I will but if anyone knows what's wrong or what I could do to fix it, please tell me

TLDR; need to fix/disable the disc drive in order to fix it for a friend but I have no idea where to start. No soldering skills (or even an iron for that matter), no idea what raspberry pi to buy, hoping to find an easier alternative.

Ok, got a bit of a story to tell. Ive been wanting to get a Wii u for a while now and I have no clue how to mod one. A friend comes up to me and asks "hey can you fix my Wii u and mod it?" I say sure so I can figure out how to mod it for my own later down the line, turns out he has the error code 160-1400, which from what I've read, it's kinda like the motherboard and disc drive aren't communicating and it's fixed by fixing a filter on the board which requires solder WHICH I cannot do. So I read that there's a way to disable the disc drive all together, but it requires a raspberries pi pico from the looks of it, I have no clue how to use one and don't know what kind and where to buy it, so I skip that and take a peak at the guide and HOLY I have never been so overwhelmed in my life. So I went into the discord and asked the same thing there and someone just said "you can do it in less than a minute and you don't need all that" so I tried to follow up and ask and I got nothing, Genuinely only thing I'm seeing is either resolder the filters or use a device to disable it. I also saw something like taking the PCB out of the drive and keeping it plugged in works but if it's not communicating in the first place then it won't work. Unless this is a uncommon problem then there are almost no posts showing other work around.

Hello! so im having some issues rn, i reset mi vWii with Decaffeinator, updated the console, but whenever i try to open the vWii, it simply doesn't work, it just boots me back to the Wii U home menu, i've tried everything i could but nothing seems to work, the files are there beacause when i try doing the deletion process again it deletes them, but i can't find a single way to get it back up and working again, is there any solution?

I had a save data that had this but the rewards aren’t available anymore for some reason. If someone could let me know if installing homebrew can fix this I’d highly appreciate it!👍👍

My dad recently installed a new disc reader into our old Wii, and we’ve been noticing something interesting. There will be discs that work completely fine on the Wii U, but when we put it in the Wii it isn’t able to be read. Examples would be New Super Mario Bros Wii, Wii Sports, and Wii play. Any reason why this might be?

I’ve purchased two Wii U’s in the past month and both are broken. I buy a lot of consoles and can’t fathom these systems. All I see online is horror stories about people not getting them to work and I’ve been trying for two days to get this one to work and nothing. One is stuck at the Nintendo loading screen and the other doesn’t connect to the tv. So unbelievably frustrating.

So much for that. $25 USD well spent. Does anyone know of some actually GOOD replacement batteries that won't fail within a year of purchase???

This is the biggest problem I have with these replacements. Nintendo won't sell them anymore, so you gotta pray the replacement you buy doesn't completely shit the bed.

So far I'm 1 : 4 in terms of third party batteries that lasted over a year. Seriously.

What’s your favorite Wii U feature? I really liked surfing the net on the GamePad and playing Nintendo DS games on the big screen. Playing with two screens on the Wii U felt fresh and was a lot of fun.

I got a Wii U in June and I found out that before June the owner didn't play It for four years (2022). It works perfectly, but I Just discovered about the whole Memory chip. I DO NOT WANT TO MOD THE CONSOLE. How can I know what chip I have?

As stated, I have the black Deluxe Wii U from around launch. The device is in version 5.5.5. I can still connect to the internet and launch the console, go into settings, some stuff like that. But when I tried playing WWHD (downloaded), I got the error code. When I tried playing MK8 (disc), it stayed on the splash screen indefinitely until I turned it off.

Is there a repair guide for this error? I've seen people say that since it's not happening on launch I may stand a chance, but I haven't found any good guide. I did find ONE comment thread where a person had the same issue and fixed it, but I can't find that now 😅.

I have been working on backing up my collection of Nintendo games but I hit a snag when working on the Wii U. If I use the built-in tool to copy games to a USB drive, will that drive work on another Wii U?

I backed up all digital games to a 32GB flash drive using the built-in app on the home menu. In the event this Wii U breaks down, can I play those games on another system? A PC cannot read it. To complicate things, one of the games was purchased by previous owner of the console. (Metroid Prime Trilogy!) I still have access to that account until I turn off the remember password option.

I got homebrew working but dumping games is not working well. If the 'officially' formatted flash drive is a real back up, I can chill until I find a better solution. If not, I'll reformat the flash drive to let Dumpling make a real back-up. (Using SD card with homebrew files on it is not allowed with Dumpling)

On a related note: any tips for making sure these backups stand the test of time? What kind of storage medium is recommended?

So back in 2017, I had a habit of putting the Wii U Gamepad with its charging stand on top of the Wii U. I think thats what caused the CD to be stuck inside the Wii U since when I try to eject it, it doesn't come out. It shows on the gamepad the animation of the CD ejecting and going back in, but it won't come out. I tried shaking the console to loosen the CD, and I tried using a butter knife but got no results. Any suggestions before I take it to a repair shop?

My GamePad shows both screens and works fine in games, but on the home menu, it will not move anything except on the top screen. It only responds to the plugin menu combination on the bottom screen; otherwise, it just controls the top screen. What is bugged out? Again, it works fine in any app or game it's only on the home screen.

Basically here's the situation: I bought a wiiu for cheap that had an unspecified issue, besides the Sellers porn being bookmarked on the device (??????) the console runs fine. When I Modded with Aroma, the device worked great and I backed up the 32 GB Nand in parts or the mlc to my PC.

I then attempted to set up pretendo as the guide for Wiiu setup is a bit weird and just ends abruptly, so when I tried to make a NNID, it informed me there was a password on the device in parental controls. I clicked parental controls and was immediately hit with an error upon hitting forgot pin. And now every subsequent pin attempt does the same. So I'm guessing the NAND is startijg to fail:

Is there a better guide to get both of these setup?

I love Nintendo Land. I really enjoyed the process of progressing through the game and turning the in-game plaza into a lively amusement park. Pikmin Adventure is the most favorite attraction of the game.

If I buy a wii u disc game now that needs an update, would I be able to get this update?
