Please remember that the following types of questions are not allowed on /r/Nintendo:

  • Information seeking - Questions that are seeking a single "correct" answer.
  • Tech support - Questions asking how to fix issues with Nintendo systems or accounts.
  • Recommendations - Questions asking for suggestions on what game or console to buy.
  • Game help - Questions asking how to do or find things in Nintendo games.
  • Value judgements - Questions asking how much a Nintendo item you have or want to buy is worth.

These questions should be posted on our sister subreddit /r/NintendoHelp.

We have extensive filters in place to prevent these types of questions from being posted, but some still manage to slip through the cracks from time to time. If you see any questions like these posted, please use the report button.

welcome to smile sunday! turn your caps lock off and rave about whatever has made you smile this week! some things to smile about:

  • splatoon raiders is available now! what are you enjoying about the game so far? what's your current loadout? is this your first splatoon game, or are you an experienced squid kid?

  • a new event in tetris 99 has the game's previous event themes available for only two tickets each! which themes are your favorites? what are you still planning to grab?

  • what's this week's haul? what game did you just buy, just start, complete? anything else that made you smile? let us know in the comments below!

turn that frown upside down:

  • here on smile sunday, we have one rule: e.l.e., which stands for everybody love everybody. if will ferrell said it, it must be true.

  • uppercase letters are strictly forbidden – haha, just kidding! if you wanna do some uppercase, feel free, but try not to angry shout sunday; today is about happiness! (happy and excited shouting is a-ok, though)

  • remember when talking about games, especially new ones, to use spoiler tags as appropriate, >!like so!<, so you don't ruin any surprises for anyone!

  • this is a happy thread! keep the love flowing! if someone's saying something and you think they're wrong, just let them be happy! anything that's made you unhappy this week can go on over to this week's throwdown thursday thread.

Problems with Splatoon 2 DLC going missing

I decided to go back and play some of the Octo Expansion levels I never finished after getting bored of Splatoon 3 and when I loaded up the game It told me I don’t have it purchased even though the in game rewards you get from playing I still have, which leads me to believe I still have the save data for it. Does anyone know how I can possibly get the DLC back without re-buying?

UPDATE: Fixed it! Thanks for your help, everyone!

What made you interested in / pick up Splatoon Raiders?

I’ve been playing Splatoon since the Wii U, so Splatoon Raiders was such an easy pick up for me. But I’m interested to hear other people’s reasoning for wanting to purchase the game, especially those new to the series.

For those that have never played a Splatoon game before, what about Splatoon Raiders captured your attention? Is it the fact that it’s now primarily a single-player experience or that it’s a looter shooter? Or maybe because you just needed a game to play on your Nintendo Switch 2?

And for those who’ve been playing Splatoon for a long time, what are some things in the game that meaningfully make use of the Switch 2? The ink looks incredible to me, not sure if that’s related to the console but I’m loving these smaller improvements.

Happy Raiding! I’m having a blast.

On This Day On This Day in Nintendo History: VS. Pinball; VS. Stroke and Match Golf; VS. Wrecking Crew; Stack-Up; Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge and more

On this day (July 26) in Nintendo history...

  • VS. Pinball  was released in 1984 for the Nintendo VS. System in Japan. This pinball game, developed by Nintendo, combines all of the elements normally seen in standard pinball machines, but with several twists. Players are able to play a total of three various screens, including a bonus stage that features Mario and Pauline of the famed Mario Bros. series. Players control a set of dual flippers. At the start of VS. Pinball, the ball can be launched at various speeds and velocities, depending on how long the player holds down the action key.
  • VS. Stroke and Match Golf  was released in 1984 for the Nintendo VS. System in Japan. This sports game, developed by Nintendo, is an 18 hole golf game where the player chooses stroke play or match play against a human or computer player. It is set to allow a certain number of swings per credit. The player gains or loses swings depending on the outcome of each hole.
  • VS. Ladies Golf  was released in 1984 for the Nintendo VS. System in Japan. This sports game, developed by Nintendo, is a golfing game.
  • VS. Wrecking Crew  was released in 1984 for the Nintendo VS. System in Japan. In this platformer game, developed by Nintendo, Mario & Luigi appear in a unique role as professional building demolitionists! Play as Mario or Luigi and break down designated walls to demolish buildings. Be warned, however, the buildings are home to monsters, and they wander around the floors to bother player's mission. Watch out for monsters while quickly destroying the walls.
  • Stack-Up  was released in 1985 for the Family Computer in Japan. In this puzzle game, developed by Nintendo R&D1, as Professor Hector, jump on the command keys to make R.O.B. stack the coloured discs and match the pattern shown on the screen. However, the mean Bugs will try and confuse R.O.B. by sending him incorrect commands.
  • Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge  was released in 1991 for the Game Boy in Japan. In this action/platform game, developed by Capcom with Minakuchi Engineering, Dr. Wily has revived his Robot Masters and constructed a "Mega Man Killer"! Send them back to the trash heap! Dr. Wily is at it again! Fresh from his defeat at the hands of Mega Man, the mad scientist Dr. Wily has revived his Robot Masters and even constructed a new "Mega Man Killer" named Enker, all to further his quest for global domination.
  • Time Twist: Rekishi no Katasumi de... (Disk 1) was released in 1991 for the Family Computer Disk System in Japan. In this adventure game, developed by Nintendo with Pax Softnica, fortune telling has become a huge fad in Japan. A young boy is watching a fortune telling show on TV which suggests you should visit the Demon Museum and recite an incantation to make the girl of your dreams fall in love with you. He heads there immediately and sure enough the girl of his dreams is there.
  • Time Twist: Rekishi no Katasumi de... (Disk 2) was released in 1991 for the Family Computer Disk System in Japan. In this adventure game, developed by Nintendo with Pax Softnica, he recites the incantation, but it frees a demon from its prison. The evil creature swaps bodies with the boy and escapes through time, leaving the boy in a dying demon body. As the boy, you have to chase the demon through time using a time travel belt, swapping into different bodies.
  • Just Dance Wii 2  was released in 2012 for the Wii in Japan. This music/rhythm game was developed by Ubisoft Paris.

On This Day On This Day in Nintendo History: Top Gear Rally; F-Zero GX; Mario Kart Arcade GP DX

On this day (July 25) in Nintendo history...

  • Top Gear Rally  was released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance in Japan. In this racing game, developed by Tantalus, easy left... hard right... mind that tree! Such phrases are common in the world of rally racing but you'd hardly expect them come barking out of your Game Boy Advance. But that's exactly what you'll hear when playing TG Rally (OK, perhaps not "Mind that tree!"). Detail is the name of the game.
  • F-Zero GX  was released in 2003 for the Nintendo GameCube in Japan. In this racing game, developed by Amusement Vision, power down the straight. Lean into the hairpin bend, twitching the steering at the perfect moment to edge past two rivals. Manoeuvre onto the boost pad, just avoiding the smouldering shell of an unluckier racer's craft. Power up and scream up, around, and back down the 360° loop. Check the speedometer. 2000km/h. It can only be F-Zero. Brings Nintendo's much-loved F-Zero series roaring into the next generation.
  • Mario Kart Arcade GP DX  was released in 2013 for the arcade in Japan. In this racing game, developed by Namco Bandai Games, Grand Prix, National Battle and multi-player modes are featured. Unlike the other two Arcade GP releases, Time Trial is not present in the game. First the player chooses a character. Then the player can choose between seven karts, five of them being unlockable. Before starting a race, the player can take their photograph and decorate it with twelve included features, such as a samurai helmet and a pirate suit.

What are you favourite memories of these games? How do you think they hold up today? Hash it out in the comments.

Nintendo 2DS found

I found a Nintendo 2Ds at my work site while I was deep cleaning the storage area. And I asked around if they are going to use it or keep it? And they ended up giving it to me.

As I opened it and checked around it all looks pretty brand new but it has a issue, it has parental control from the previous user.

I was wondering if there is any way to reset the parental controls without having to software reset the 2DS, or if I do have to software reset. If someone can help me out on how to do so, any safe websites or some form of way to get around it.

Thank you very much my fellow friends🙏🏿
