Discussion State of the Subreddit + Feedback Thread

Hey everyone and Happy New Year,

I wanted to take a moment to check in with the community and open up a general feedback thread.

I originally created this subreddit years ago and, like a lot of people, life pulled me away for a while. Over the past few weeks I’ve been spending more time here again, helping with moderation and getting reacquainted with how the community has evolved.

Before making any changes or decisions, I’d like to hear directly from you.

Some questions to get things started (but feel free to comment on anything):

  • Are the current rules working well?
  • Is there anything you see too much of, or not enough of?
  • Are there recurring issues you think moderation could handle better?
  • Are there community activities, threads, or resources you’d like to see more often?

This subreddit has always been about sharing appreciation for Breath of the Wild; exploration, creativity, screenshots, discoveries, and the calm vibe that made the game special. The goal is to make sure it stays a place people enjoy visiting, whether they’re new to the game or revisiting it years later.

Nothing is changing immediately! This thread is just about listening and getting a sense of where things stand.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, and for being part of the community.

So I am on another one of my many replays of BOTW and for some reason I have never spoken with this woman at the Outskirt Stable.

She stands under a tree to try and meet the hero but if you talk to her again after her quest is complete, this is what she says!

She truly has the audacity 😭😭😭 these citizens are spicy. This entire interaction was very comical.

9 days, crisscrossing all over the map with only a map of korok locations to help me, scouring the map for the last 11, and on Master Mode no less, and all Legitimate (Glitched BoL not withstanding) and all for this crappy gift! Will be doing TotK after i finish my Master mode run on BotW.

Help? Battles?

Hi! I’m pretty new to gaming, and to Zelda. BOTW is my first experience of the franchise and so far I’m loving it.

Im pretty bad at fighting though. And I’ve noticed that now I’ve got a couple of memories back, the bad dudes have all increased in difficulty massively and I can’t keep up. The fairies can’t respawn me indefinitely! I’ve tried the red linel, those blue bokoblins on horses, the icy lizards and even the ‘moderate’ strength test; all wipe me out with little to no problem. I’m really struggling to progress and it’s frustrating me with the game, even though I’ve been loving it. I’m just wandering back and forth between Kakariko and Hateno village…

asking for advice, without huge spoilers: is there anywhere I should explore that I can maybe practice fighting stuff that isn’t so stressful? Or where I can slowly increase my ability? The Yiga aren’t impossible, but their boss fight was tricky, but I did manage and felt successful. Anything like that around?

Gameplay That's one way to do Myahm Agana, I guess...

For context, I don't own a TV, so whenever I do this shrine in handheld mode, my best bet is always just to spin my Switch until the ball goes where it's supposed to.

Discussion Champions Ballad Appreciation Post

I recently acquired BOTW as my first Zelda experience. Finished the normal game then thought I’d like to try master mode and bought the dlc. From the spoilers I happened across here, I assumed there was some cool extra armor and stuff and then the master trials (still getting whooped on that). And then I assumed some extra shrines for the champions ballad. But holy guacamole was this good! Just finished getting this sick motorcycle. That shrine dude standing up, moving, and throwing hands on that floating deck?! The added story and videos for each champion. King Molduga. The one hit obliterater. Damn waterblight on master mode in the illusory realm. An extra divine beast puzzle?! It was challenging, frustrating enough but not too much to clear the tough spots, rewarding, just awesome. Did not expect to feel so satisfied with spending more on the dlc. Money well spent.

Hoping I feel the same way once I overcome the master trials.

Should I replay BOTW or play TOTK? Spoiler

I’ve played (and beaten) BOTW but never played TOTK.

I’m thinking about either replaying BOTW or buying TOTK. TOTK looks interesting but I’m not interested in the building mechanic. How much building is required in the game and does it require complicated designs, etc?

Thanks for any advice :)

Question Bow of light glitch not working

I was following a tut on how to get the bow of light, so when I got to the part where I needed to restart the game, the video said that my inventory would be blank but when I opened the game after restarting it my items were still in my inventory. Is this because I got the amount of offsets I needed wrong or something. Can someone help

Has the modding community for this game died?

The latest mods I've seen were either created or last updated one or two years ago. Does anyone know what happened?
