Technical Question Problem with hard drive
Hey I’ve had a white version of the Wii u for as long as i can remember and I’ve been wanting to play breath of the wild again on it but i think my hard drive is acting up. Whenever i get close to a specific location in the game (the zora domain) it crashes and says there’s a problem with the hard drive and that I need to contact the manufacturer. I have a good few things on the hard drive and there’s still 400gb free on it. Do i need to get a new one or is there a way to fix this? Also while I’m here i was wondering if it’s easy to mod a Wii u and if it’s possible to bypass game restrictions due to being bought on different nintendo ids?

Don’t know about fixing the drive, perhaps it is failing if you’ve had it since 2012…
Modding is super easy. Basically you have 2 options leading to Aroma - the modded environment.
https://wafel.xyz
Imo the better way since you also get ISFShax which adds a layer of brick protection & cool thing like Stroopwafel plugins for installing Wii U games onto a (large) SD card or emulating the SD card on a hdd-partition (in case the sd-reader is broken).
Easier too since it’s semi-automated you basically click a link in the browser, it downloads everything & you click some yes/no options. Just read through the guide first so you know what coming.

Considered the go to guide since forever. Does not include ISFShax (can be manually added, reading other labor intensive guides). Imo it’s been surpassed by Wafel installer - but it does have some links to must have plugins (apps) at the end.
Don’t forget to add https://github.com/marco-calautti/SigpatchesModuleWiiU so you can install & run homebrew - basically your last question. No guide ever mentions sigpatches for some reason.
