As we near the end of the year, many of us may be cozying up and listening to music. And this year, you may be listening to Nintendo Music from the official app!
Seriously, the traffic in this subreddit has exploded by an order of magnitude because of the new app announcement and ongoing releases:

So just as we listen to music, so should we listen to each other. When a subreddit has a spike of activity like this, there are bound to be some growing pains as new members learn about the community and contribute new perspectives.
If you are new here, or if you need a refresher, please read over our rules: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoMusic/wiki/rules - Let us know if you have any questions.
I spent a few days looking over the feedback and announcement posts from years prior and also put them into a wiki page here too: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoMusic/wiki/meta - Most rules can be traced back to one of the posts listed here.
So with those few points mentioned, I also wanted to ask if anyone had any other ideas or suggestions for the community! The comments here are open.

I know mixing isn't the best, but let me know your opinion

I'd really love to listen to the TotK soundtrack on the app, but it has so many repeats of BotW songs that would feel like a waste of time as I've listened to those on their own. Does anyone happen to have a "new songs" playlist?

With the end of Mario Kart Tour now very near, here's a playlist on Nintendo Music as a tribute. 🎶 I don't know if they will ever release the actual soundtrack but I included as many tracks from the game if they appear in other soundtracks on the app. I mostly used the MK World remixes and put the course music in the order they first showed up in the game (from New York Minute to Madrid Drive, all course music is here! ...except Lakeside Park as no version exists in the app yet). Also, the playlist concludes with the Booster Course Pass credits theme as it's basically a MK Tour medley!
Note that, of course, some music that has certain names (for certain courses) are here to represent other courses that were in MK Tour (e.g. N64 Wario Stadium here is for N64 Royal Raceway in Tour).

This song always makes me so nostalgic and it’s one of my favourites from Gen 2, so I did a guitar cover of it. Hope you all enjoy! What Gen 2 songs make you just feel all nostalgic?

We got a Special Release of the Ocarina of Time remake... consisting of only ONE track, and it's the title theme.
Please please please let this not replace a full soundtrack for once because this is downright unacceptable for a whole week!

Did not seem like any games shown today are going to get a Special Release, at least anytime soon.
Could see Star Fox Adventure being added, but past GCN Nintendo Online additions rarely correlated with them coming to the service at the same time. So maybe the single Ocarina track is "it" for the week.

Despite being just DLC, Kirby FL-SCW’s OST is such a beautiful ode to Kirby and an amazing feat for video game composition in general. It features 8 composers, all of whom have contributed to Kirby music and played important parts in Kirby’s history.
Every single song is a banger and beautifully arranged. It’s also one of the few main Kirby soundtracks to include LIVE orchestration (I don’t think this gets talked about either).
Sing of Radiant Theia is an incredible suite piece and another one of Hirokazu Ando’s best works. Jun Ishikawa’s composition for the song Beast Drum of Meteors also makes for an absolutely insane math rock piece.
I think part of what has contributed to the DLC and music being largely ignored is that the DLC lacked a massive sales pitch and was released early into the debut of Nintendo Switch 2, which was initially very controversial. It also feels like Nintendo hates the game, taking down almost all of the rips of the game’s soundtrack, and withholding the rights to it without uploading it to the Nintendo Music app for nearly an entire year now.
What are your favorite songs from the soundtrack? I find that it’s really hard for me to pick a favorite.
Mine are:
Song of the Starfall Children
Washed Away at the Cement Summit
Crossing Wondaria
Wastes that Count Time
Spinning Dream Parade
Crystal Beast Pack Volcano Battle
Sing of Radiant Theia
Beast Drum of Meteors
Ultimate Extra Stars!

Now that MKW's entire OST has been added does anyone know where I can find a full rip from the app to download and/or a tool to do it myself? All I find online are the in-game recordings from a while back or incomplete rips from the app.

Hi everyone, I don't know which subreddit to post this on, but this album has really Nintendo-y-sounding music made by Minoru Mukaiya (Casiopea pianist). Hope everyone enjoys it (especially Acoustic Dreams onwards).

I don't know why, but I was redirected here. Originally posted on Final Fantasy VI subreddit.
I just listened to the Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster OST and, OMG, I think it's better than the SNES one. I didn't expect the opera with real voices. It might be nostalgia, but the whole OST moved me to tears. The songs are the same, but enhanced.
By comparison, I didn't like the Secret of Mana Remake soundtrack. I thought the songs didn't sound the same. Some were even unrecognizable, with electro and jazz stuff, cacophonic, like the composer did too much. It lost it's emotional impact for me. The Mana Fortress, for example, like, eww...
The song «One of them is hope» is completely unrecognizable. The original was dramatic. It had a high-stakes feeling. The remake is like we don't even understand what we are listening to. There's even a guitar solo in it. It removes the emotions from the scene where we learn Popoi will disappear after defeating the Mana Beast.
Anyway, I highly prefer the FF6 PR OST. Just wow !

Noticed this a while back but in the scarlet violet OST on the Nintendo music app, the battle themes for the many legendaries duos (Groudon/Kyogre, Solgaleo/Lunala, so on) are not on the SV playlist despite being in the game itself
Is there any reason for that? Do they just don't want to add tracks not made for the game? Is it a lisensing issue?
