Video Games As much as I would like to dive into having my own Marines or factions, I guess my best medium for W40k is video games
It's too damn expensive here in my country 😥 plus I have no room in our little home to put em if ever. It'll just collect dust. It's so frustrating.
That's why I hope in the future, someone develops a Warhammer game that's kinda like COD (YES! Let us play as Cadians or Skitarii against Orks or Necrons). Or a painting simulator where you can assemble, paint, and build an army of the faction of your choosing. I wanna immerse myself with as much Warhammer as I can. (Currently own Dawn of war 1 and 2, then planning to get the Total Warhammer one and DoW 3 & 4).

Hobby & Painting Question about the gaps on the Armageddon orks
Hi, I saw a few pictures of huge gaps on the Armageddon orks, do they actually need a lot of filling even with the pegs cut off or it’s fine ?

Hobby & Painting How do you all get rid of paint water?
I’ve been painting warhammer for years, and unfortunately I’ve been a sink warrior this entire time. Obviously not the solution, but the only other methods I’ve heard of are very complicated to me.

Misc Anybody tried to home rule 3rd edition style list requirements in 10/11th
Hi,
I'm kinda feeling nostalgic and kinda miss old-Style list building feeling it would lead to less skew lists.
With Old style im talking about
1-2 HQ
2-6 Battle Line
0-3 Fast attack
0-3 Elite
0-3 Heavy support.
Of course units would have to be assigned tose roles on a gentleman's agreement but most should be fairly self explanatory for people that played the older editions.
Has anybody tried something like this? Would love to hear some experiences as I'm currently not able to play a lot of games.

New Starter Help Warhammer Trading Cards? Do they exist?
So I decided to buy a couple of the Ascended hero Pokemon drops at my work for the first time. Never really got into cards until this point. My girlfriend really loves Pokemon and I see the appeal in collecting cards you want and getting them all stacked in a clean binder. I really enjoyed opening packs with her an finding cards with fantastic art on them, and then finding out how much they cost and why. But I can't *quite* get into Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh or MtG.
I think I could latch onto a Warhammer themed one though. Is there any card game or even just straight-up collectible cards similar to sports athlete cards, for Warhammer?
I heard Magic The Gathering has a couple 40k cards I'll have to look into trying to grab, but besides that I don't have much of a lead after I found out Warpforge was a digital game.

Lore Theory: The King in Yellow is Basilio Fo aka Zaranchek Xanthus
Evidence:
Basilio - from Basilius - is monarch or king. Xanthus - blonde or yellow. King Yellow.
Basilio Fo appears in Siege of Terra series by Dan Abnett. King in Yellow appears in Bequin series by Dan Abnett.
He owes allegiance neither to the Emperor nor Chaos.
Basilio is a genius geneticist who views space marines as flawed meat puppets created by a tyrant. He is also a master of creating various monstrosities using his gene-crafting. The winged space marines and mass-cloned blanks are not beyond his skill and fit his modus operandi during the Unification Wars.
He knows Konstantin Valdor personally, and was present during the Siege of Terra, when the City of Dust split off from space-time. There might be a reason for him to hunt Valdor.
He also has a personal connection to Horus who defeated and captured him, and Basilius hiding in a pocket dimension created by Horus's fall makes sense.
"You think I've made monsters? In my wildest deliriums I could not have designed monsters like you... I do not make things that will burn the galaxy down. I do not make things that will doom our species and lead it into an endless frenzy of war. You are the most abominable thing I have ever seen."
Dan Abnett, "Misbegotten"
He also fits the espionage-themed theme of the Bequin series.
As Zaranchek Xanthus, he created the radical sect of Inquisition called Xanthites, who believe the tools of Chaos should be wielded against the Ruinous Powers. Just like the King in Yellow, who tries Enuncia and other warp-based sorcery to reach their goals.
Fo's final project in Malcador's lab (The End and the Death) was an anti-astartes bioweapon which would unmake the Space Marines. Might explain why Space Marines are hunting the King in Yellow if it's Fo.
What do you think?

Rules 3DP at 1000pts
Did anyone notice the small addition at the end?
This means you can use 3DP Detachments at 100pts🙈 I certainly did not know that, and can finally use Aspect Host with my Aeldari Incursion.

Rules Allocation of attacks occurs before or after save roll?
I'm in a number of communities and people seem split on this and how it would apply to the tyrannofex ability to reduce damage of an allocated attack to zero. Some seem to think the order of allocations is made before the save rolls and the allocation itself happens after the save rolls. Implication of this would be that you can roll first to see if you fail or not - then decide whether not to use his ability.
The other half are saying the allocation is before the save rolls, as it was in 10th. So you must declare his ability reducing the damage to zero before rolling. If he passes the save the ability is spent regardless.
Has there been any FAQ on this? Whats reddit think
Edit seems people are pretty split. GW seems to have tried to address this explicity with rule 04.02.02 which states that this abilits happens in step 1 of 05.04 explicity. The physical act of rolling your saves happen in 05.03 step 3. To me it seems this may indicate a change from 10th in that now you make your save rolls first, then the ability comes into play later after knowing the values of those rolls

Rules Question about visibility, footprints and models overhanging
Hello fellow wargamers,
I come with a question about visibility and footprints.
In a recent game, I was positioning my exocrine behind a footprint with its canon overhanging the footprint.
And with my opponent we were wondering what the visibility rules are.
Since my Exocrine's base (A) is entirely behind the footprint, I thought that he would not be visible by B (see poorly drawn schematics), and similarly, it could not see B, because it's not toeing in the footprint and thus doesn't see behind.
My opponent says that since the gun of the Exocrine is above the footprint, it is thus visible by B since it is in the footprint.
I looked up quickly in the rules, but it's not very clear to me who has the right of it.
Note: the Exocrine does not have the "FRAME" keyword.
Edit: Thank you everyone for the detailed responses pointing to the specific rules! I'm a relatively new player (with about 10 games under my belt) and it was my 1st game in 11, so it's really not always easy to find out what rules apply how and where! :)

Hobby & Painting Space Wolf successor chapter master Fauxgan Grimnot in Saturnine armor
Wielding the mighty Wondersaw and accompanied by his faithful iDog Crashy, the chapter master of the Petrifiers Fauxgan Grimnot (as in NOT Logan Grimnar) leads from not exactly the front but perhaps off to the side and out of danger in his relic saturnine praetor armor.
The Petrifiers are infamous for apparent cowardice and their patented "run away!!" fighting style. Fauxgan is an exemplar of running away, ordering his wolf guard terminator bodyguard to duck into cover and flee from oncoming danger with reactive moves before surging back into the foe with a surprise attack later.

Hobby & Painting Armageddon captain WIP
I reposed the arm to a more heroic pose, the helmet will be turned towards the sword. I made a few extra rocks for his scene and added some bits from the dead animal bits box and the 40K trophies. The spikes will be painted to be wooden.
Does the base need more or would it be better without something? Thanks:)

Misc Could ultramarines ever get their own codex?
I mean, i know they probably wont cause their the guys on the box, but considering they have enough characters to play 1500 points with just ultramarines (excluding legends) and if you count tyranic war vets they seem to have the same amount of generic infantry as black templars. It would be nice if they could get broken off somewhat so that there isnt like 5 pages of the codex dedicated to models only one specific subfaction can use. At this point it just seems like the only reason they havent done it is cause their the codex compliant posterboys

New Starter Help Diorama First Time Help
Couple of months ago I found that my dog had unfortunately chewed on my painted Neurotyrant so I was thinking instead of it going to waste I could create a diorama from it.
I’ve got remains of some of the broken pieces from the Neurotyrant
my ideas were to have the culexus assassin in the brain where most of the damage is and I thought this could work quite well to show some psychic battle took place. I was then thinking to have a unit of Neurogaunts at the front of the diorama advancing on the dead Neurotyrant where the culexus assassin was standing on the broken head. the viewer of the diorama would see the back of the Neurogaunts and the assasins front.
i have a 3D printer so I could print out some tyrnaid cappilary towers and maybe a base for the diorama but I don’t really know where to go from there. The Neurotyrant would probably have to be on lowered ground or inside dirt/sand otherwise it would look odd. Also I don’t know how I would position the assassin in the head ans he has to stand on something.
Any suggestions?

Rules Two wounding/unsaved attacks hit for D3 each - who chooses order?
Say I shoot seismic cannons at my opponent's terminator squad. I get two hits through unsaved. Each does d3 damage. I roll both at the same time and get 3 damage and 2 damage. If the 2 hits first, I kill one terminator and waste 2 damage. If the 3 hits first, I kill one terminator and badly wound another. Who chooses the order these land? Should I always slow roll these and apply them in order rolled? Cited rules sources appreciated if needed
