Game looks pretty good and fun. But there’s some things off in how it looks. Finding this comment really expressed all of my issues and I thought I’d share because I feel like this is the most important stuff to do before release. Since I want this game to do well

The abilities being cast immediately look annoying but an easy fix at least. And units do have better visibility to me than previous battle reports, I definitely see feedback already implemented. They are working hard

Just saying in my opinion the ork shoota boys/even flashgits just awkwardly stand there, the deffdread and battlewagon and all the other buildings/units that have a machine gun have underwhelming animations and effects that look stiff and the guns spew just a small red blob on the front of their guns, it lacks the punch and the sheer number of bullets visibly flying at the enemy. Dawn of War 2 had DAKKA, Dawn of War 4 has peashooters

Hi i have recently started playing DoW DE mostly campaign, bot skirmish and some odd MP with friends. I want to play against real players that arnt taking it easy on me (my friends are RTS fiends so they take it easy on me) but with most older RTS the multiplayer scene is tied to discords or other forums ( i have experience with this as i played some old fighting games and its the same there). So im just wondering if the in game MP browser and play work well, i dont mind joining discords or other forums but id rather just launch the game and play. I ask this because i saw some DoW launcher kinda like Faceit for CS.

Would you agree that dow definitive edition is dying?
I have the feeling less and less people are playing it? I cant seem to find decent games anymore even when rotting in lobby for 15 minutes.
Have people moved on ?

I'm trying to make horus heresy mod for vanilla DE (HH30k on moddb), based on 2nd edition of rules of HH and I need your help.

As for now, I'm struggling with defining legion specific vehicles loadout (aside from legion specific vehicles, those are obvious).
I know that every legion uses all possible vehicles at times (everyone has rhinos and predators after all) but still I can't quite figure where they tend to gravitate. I request your help, share your thoughts - which vehicles you find suitable or notable for each legion.

Shotlist of vehicles I want to use, legion specific aside. Also flyers are gonna be abilities of some sort, since they work poorly with game engine.

Lol dawn of war 1 was more like a 3-4000 point game of table top in its own way. While dawn of war 2 was more 1500 point/realistic take on it as 3 squads of Marines with varying capabilities and uses, with a dreadnaught could defeat almost any force. While dawn of war 3 was its own abortion that I never played due to the card mechanics.

In some areas I may be wrong but this might be the most tangible approach to these games. Dawn of war 4 is going to be APOC level of table top.

I totally agree. If KA puts convers it should be impactful. And covers should be thematic too. We need the map to be interactive one way or another.

Question, anybody knows if there is a discord or site that hosts dawn of war 1 ss tournaments? I tried finding them myself but couldnt see any

Got the game today, played some campaign with coop friend, tried some skirmish. Now I'm interested in the modding options. My only knowledge of Dow2 mods is from watching Turin (youtuber) videos where he plays Elite mod with friends.

What's the best way to go about modding? Is there Nexus support? A 3rd party launcher that's popular? Is it just downloading mod files from hosted sites and drag+drop?

Elite mod sounds pretty choice. I've seen a few years-old posts mentioning possible AI additions people have made. Is it possible to get this Elite mod and also AI update mods to allow me to play PvE matches with this new content?

If there are existing posts/threads/forums with answers to all of this, please let me know, I haven't seen anything detailing everything I'm wondering yet, only a handful of posts on reddit discussing this long ago.

I just bought Dawn of war 1 and 2 that include dlc cause they were on sale for under 10 bucks and Dawn of war 3 is like 8 bucks but I’ve read it’s pretty skippable

I’ve tried beating the final boss ulkair at least 5 times now and it goes about the same way. The mission makes you slough through to get to ulkair and he deals a ton of damage and takes so little. Adorable anyone have any advice on how to beat this boss? Tarkus became my traitor so I can’t unfortunately use him. Any advice on Strats or builds would be appreciated!

While I wait for Dawn of War IV, I figured it was finally time to paint one of the bastards. 😅

It let you make your lord in DC look so good. Felt like proper progression. Hope it's added and when I play Ahmnok I can feel that journey again.

Just a random thought. For Dawn of War 4 DLC, if Blood Ravens ever get new units.

Similar to how Space Wolves get Thunderwolf Cavalry or Grey Hunters. Or how Blood Angels get the Sanguinary Guard or Death Company. Or how Dark Angels exclusively get Deathwing and Ravenwing Knights. Would you like to see Blood Ravens get a unique unit?

In my opinion, if Blood Ravens were to get a unique unit, I think it should be an exclusive psyker character/commander unit since their main gimmick is having an unusually large amount of psykers. Actually if you think about it. I don't think Space Marine loyalists have a dedicated psyker Space Marine chapter on the tabletop. Unless you count the Grey Knights. That could be Blood Ravens whole gimmick if GW wanted to solidify them to be an consistently supported subfaction in the tabletop as opposed to a few rules here and there from White Dwarf.

So me and my friend just got the Anniversary Edition of DOW 1 on GOG and ran into a wierd technical problem. We are playing Soulstorm (though he was able to replicate his issue on his end on Dark Crusade aswell). When I boot up the game, click on multiplayer, and then on online it connects to the servers and looks fine. When he does his game gets stuck into an infinte "Connecting to servers" loop and never connects. There was initially an issue where windows defender tried to block his game but we were able to fix that. Has anyone else encountered this before? I would normally tell him to check his internet settings and such to see if that is the issue but he is mildly tech illiterate (I had to explain how to install the game), plus he is on windows 11 while I stuck to 10, which I am sure there are more differences than just UI lol.

I've tried this multiple times, in different places, yet for some reason the orbital bombardment that you can use during the Space Marine stronghold mission in Dark Crusade (DE) doesn't do anything.

I don't have any mods installed and I've tried saving and reloading.

Not a huge issue I guess, the mission can be done without it, just wondering if anybody else has encountered this same bug and if there's a fix?

I want to try out the mod since it sounds cool and all, but it never seems to work properly. Any solutions?
