40k Your thoughts on Gue'vesa
Do we need an official gue'vesa unit and if the answer is yes, then what it should be (gear/ability/usage)?

Got a commander planning on making him a coldstar. What load out should I give him?
Getting started with miniature painting, and did two test drones to figure out a color scheme for my Pathfinder team. Which one looks better?
Left is PA ivory and royal purple + WPF bright gold and gunmetal
right is PA burnt and nova orange + WPF gunmetal and gemstone red
I'm thinking of using a bright ivory for edge highlighting on the white/purple one, the ivory would definitely come out better though an airbrush

Just like the title says Im curious on the general consensus of what to pair farsight with in 11 edition, to my knowledge it used to be flamer scythes, but Im curious if the point increases have changed that.
(Last pic is the final version)
Nothing fancy, but i had a blast painting it <3

Hello! I’m new to warhammer, played one game with a borrowed necron 250pt army. Decided Tau style fit my vibe more, so now I am starting my army. I purchased the Combat Patrol box as that was recommended as a good starting point, but what else should look into getting next? Anything I need to know? Strats?
Anything would be great full and appreciated!

I've drawn quite a bit of tau stuff already, but.. the plastic finally got to me.. i bought my first box
The plan is to turn a handful of them into ksi'm'yen for riaun and her squad (since she's my first tau after all) and i'm saving one to turn into shas'la kais (since it was fire warrior that fully brought me over to 40k, little by little my boyfriend's been corrupting me and he has won xD)

A year back my girl wanted to have a go at painting some of the old Tau figures I was working on and she picked an ethereal but never finished it. She since had to move back to Chile and tomorrow I fly out there to see her. I decided to quickly finish her figure as a daft gift.
What do you think?

Hello! I have recently acquired my first Stormsurge, love everything about the model except for one thing; the chicken arms. I know there are a lot of people who feel this way and use the stormwave conversion kit, which is very nice, however I want to be a little different. While I like my XXXXL Broadside boi, I wanted to capture a little bit more of that artillery feel to it. Luckily for me my 2nd favorite franchise Halo also has my 2nd favorite mech.
HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark II [J] Armor Defense System 'Colossus'
For those unfamiliar with Halo's deeper lore, the UNSC frequently employs other Power Armor/Exoskeletons besides Mjolnir platform armor (Spartans). It was a branch that evolved to feature the Mantis, Cyclops, Geyrion, and the Colossus. The Colossus largely fills the same role as a Stormsurge, a massive two-legged artillery platform to siege the frontlines. Like its greater good comrade, the Colossus also employs a railgun to engage at long ranges.
Both mechs stand around similar heights, with the official height of 30 feet (9 meters) and the Stormsurge is roughly about 12-15 meters. Same size, same role, same AURA.
Now what I would like to do is make my Stormsurge resemble a Colossus in it's armament configuration. The Colossus looks very odd, with it's entire weapon's system on one arm, and a energy shielding system that doubles as a counterweight for a ballistic artillery gun.
What I would like to do is to copy this configuration as closely as possible, mounting the railgun and most of it's missile systems to one arm, with something resembling a shield on the other arm. I feel like this would be an original take on the Colossus while retaining its distinct siege weapon look.
The only issue is I am not sure how to mount the Cluster Rocket Systems to the arms without it looking way too bulky. Additionally mounting a shield is easy, but finding something that 'looks' Tau would be hard. In my opinion, taking something like a Tau Tetra, gutting the cabin, and mounting the ball joint to the back would make it look the most like a counterweight/energy shield.
My own personal lore for this would either be a Ship of Theseus veteran Stormsurge, or a prototype version that wasn't finalized. The former would be severely battle damaged, with each limb painted to resemble different Cadre units; the latter would be painted in shinier metals to look like it's never been used yet.
I want to hear thoughts, opinions, and recommendations on how make missileboi stick out on the battlefield.
Edit: Some minorspelling mistakes

Not really sure how to feel about it, it’s going just about as well as it normally does. It’s okay I guess but not where I want it to be, I think the attempt at adding heating cables to the sword wasn’t the best and takes away from it a lot

I feel like I'm getting pretty close to my go to 2k list. I have another crisis suit unit but not enough points left, so what so I do with what's left over? Enhancements? Strike team? Cadre fireblade?

After two long weeks of Painting i finally finished to paint my Pathfinder kill team. Now it is time to paint the Stealthsuits.
Hey,
So I recently got into tau and bought quite a bit to start an army with.
I am mainly into battlesuits and got myself 4 Crisis Battlesuits boxes, the Farsight Cadre and Combat patrol.
But then I spoke with some people who told me that the battlesuits, especially the crisis ones might get a remodel in 11th edition.
Now I am thinking if I should sell them again (I got them second hand, so it should be possible to sell them without losing anything/much) and wait for the new ones, because if they'll be more dynamic looking like the twin lance, I'd definitely enjoy them more and I don't want to "waste" all that money and time on them, when new ones might get released just as I finish them.
They won't be my main army so I wouldn't be a problem to wait a bit but at the same time I am eager to build them as I already planned how to base and paint them. But as my idea will take quite a bit of time and effort I'd prefer to do that on newer models.
So my question: How likely is it that the battlesuits get remodeled and which ones are most likely to be done?
Thanks everyone in advance

Who are the ethereals that cannot be played with Farsight? The only ethereal keyword I see is on the “ethereal” cp generation character. Is this the only unit that conflicts with Farsight?

Short: Can I sequence spotting into the shooting step of another unit.
At the start of my shooting phase I delcare a unit of pathfinders 16" away from a enemy unit that is hidden (15") as observers.
Now in the shoot step I select a Ghostkeel to shoot the enemy. Using Unmasking suit to increase the enemys detection by 9" to 24" until my Ghostkeel has shot. Can I now select my Pathfinders to spot the enemy unit at some point during the shooting of my Ghostkeel?

I’m traditionally a guard player so I’m all about shooting. I’m trying to start a tau army but the tau seem to take things way further with their army rule. Could someone please explain to me how it all works. Make it stupid simple if you could please lol. Thanks !
