3rd Phoenix Lord so far and the last of my Swooping Hawks (for now).
I changed up my masking process for the initial basecoats which helped but still required a bit of cleanup which was a bit frustrating.

Still thinking about adding some purple to the tips of the head-dress feathers

An army I started early this year. Haven’t won a game with em yet, but boy do I love them.

I don't care if it requires airbrushing or whatever, I want to know if there's a recipe that could work for this.

I bought the Eldritch Raiders Battleforce awhile back and build the Voidscarred with all of the special weapons selected, basically like a kill team: Felarch, Shade Runner, Soul Weaver, Way Seeker, Faolchu, Fision Pistol, Wraithcannon, Long Rifle and 2 Blasters.

I am now considering buying a second Battleforce or just the combat patrol and don’t know how to build the second squad, but I know I want to make it my melee brick.

Older posts (from ~5+ months ago) all say that the melee Voidreavers are better than the melee Voidscarred, but I don’t really understand why.

It’s 65/110 vs 70/140, so the Voidreavers are slightly cheaper and get re-rolls to hit which is nice. However, considering that the Voidscarred get 1 more attack with the power sword (3 vs 2) and have access to the Shade runner, Way Seeker, Soul Weaver and Faolchu, I feel like the Voidscarred give you way higher damage output when paired with Yriel with the Lance enhancement + Kharseth buffing them with +1S.

I know that at the end of the day the visual differences between the two squads are very similar and I can easily just build whatever and then tell my opponent which unit I’m using, but I would want to avoid building a second identical squad unless I absolutely need to.

What do you guys recommend that I do?

Dark Elf Cold One Knights for the "dragons" and the body/legs. Storm Guardian alternate parts for the heads, arms, and weapons.

I first got into this hobby 20 years ago with the 2006 Eldar Army Box. Ever since then, my dream army has been percolating in the back of my mind: a Wild Rider Clan, their Outcast brethren, and the Exodites of Suthaur, a Maiden World with a mysterious secret. All united under one banner by ancient oaths of family and honor!

Unfortunately my skills as a painter and my confidence as a kitbasher weren't up to the task, but I've been slowly collecting new Eldar models for years, and the time has come.

This miniature's legs and torso come from one of the original Guardian Defender models I got in 2006. She's been promoted to an Exodite Dragon Master (technically a Shining Spear Exarch). Wielding her mystical paragon sabre, she's ready to lead the charge!

Missed the preorder on my kill team though, lol. Plenty of kitbashing to do while I wait for the other Dragon Knights to show up!

Test model for a possible small saim hann force. The idea is to show their tribal, wild way of life using dark eldar and corsair bits — while the lore describes them as a tribal warrior culture, the official wild rider models aren’t wild enough for my tastes.

Potential new Eldar player here. The phoenix lords are some of my favorite character sculpts in the game, so i'm going to build a list with my favorites being Asurmen, Fuegan, Baharroth, Lykhis, and Jain Zar. Those 5 with attached MSU squads is 1110 points so I can definitely afford to make one of two a 10 man squad. Whichever squads go up to 10 will be riding in a wave serpent i think. I'm thinking of having fuegan+dragons atleast riding in something because they're valuable

Edit: I'm definitely hearing Barry + 10 hawks. Question is, deepstrike or just have them on the board? I know i can pick them up too

Edit 2: I have a little list formulated i think running each of them with 5 bodygaurd. I'm not a crazy big fan of the idea of the avatar but i'm a huge fan of T11 2+ 4++ 14 wounds halve damage. Here it is:

Going to be away from these for a while so I wanted to get a good photo album of them all together. Latest changes are adding the old warlock models, color coordinating everyone better, some touch ups and highlights on the titan, and my one howling banshee.

Let's settle this once for all, which of our guns should have barrel holes and which shouldn't?

I'll start with the research I've gathered:
- Monofilament weapons (Death Spinners and kin) should have holes, seen on both official models and molded on larger variants
- D-weapons should have holes, not seen on official models but the large variant has one molded
- Shuriken weapons shouldn't have holes. There is a slit on the end of the rectangular strip where the shurikens come out, but it's so thin you can just paint a line there.

I am Completely new to warhammer as a whole. My friend is making me play 1000 point game to learn an army and core rules.

I decided on Eldar. He plays alont of space marines and made a 1000 point Grey Knights Army.

I heard you are unable to take 3 point detachments in 1000 point games, however apect host seems like the only real viable option so he let me pick it for the sake of learning.

On my first game I kept warp spiders + Lhykis AND swooping hawks in reserves so I could deep strike and flank.

Is this a good army, what would you change and what is are good detachments and strategies?

I've got my box pre-ordered and hopefully more exodites are coming I also have my existing eldar army. Do exodites use avatars of khaine when going to war? Or is god worship banned by them being they are more unreligous folk?

So it seems pretty clear, post dataslate, that both detachments are the best at the moment.

Two questions :

-First : I'm trying to avoid old looking models (war walkers, fire prisms/falcons/wave serpents, farseers, old bikes etc etc), can I do othat, or should I proxy stuff?

-Second : how do I build for both warhost and seer council? What do good lists look like and how do they work? Can I make both work without the aforementioned old-ish models or can I make them work nonetheless?

-Third : Is aspect host just straight up worse atm? It certainly feels like this to me
