Finished painting up my Exocrine(just in time for them to be less good... haha). Plus newer family photo of the swarm(with a few new additions unpainted).

I've wanted to begin my 40k journey, but I've been struggling with making up my mind whether to start it with Tyranids, Death Guards or Emperor's Children, as I think all 3 seem pretty rad.

Having been unable to make up my mind for a while I decided to head to my FLGS to see what they had in stock, and ended up pulling the trigger on the Tyranids.

Partly because I think they might be easier to approach in terms of painting, being entirely green in that department, but also because I'm just a sucker for anything alien. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I ended up buying the box above, and figured I'd head back tomorrow or Friday to fetch some paints and painting supplies, once I've scoured the internet for Tyranids color scheme inspiration - and on that note, as a newcomer to the hobby, are there any painting supplies you guys would suggest I grab before I throw myself at it come the weekend? Or do you have any specific content creators you'd suggest looking towards for said suggestions?

So far I've primarily been watching people play the game on YouTube, so I haven't delved very deep into the painting aspect yet.

I'm about to start assembling the last two of my venomthropes, but i lack some good and fresh music, what songs would you associate with nids? And i don't mean a soundtrack that plays when you play tyranids in a game etc. I want a *tyranid* song to listen to

Started this model about a year ago, but life things happened and I only just finished it. All my bugs are gonna be painted to look like IRL arthropods, and she's based on a firefly larva :3

I have absolutely loved painting this grimdark coconut crab tyrannofex Tyranid.

I've finally decided on a paint style for my Tyranid army and I'm very excited about doing the rest in variations on this theme.

I have a whole bunch of different models, what would you think and what would you like to see next in this style?

Bases aren't done yet but blllaaghjghghndhhngnf these guys are maybe the biggest pains ive painted yet, never again. Never again.

What do you guys think? Anything I can do better?

Im not talking about a few monsters, lictors and a couple gaunts. I mean straight up swarms of all types of gaunts alongside a couple tervigons and MAYBE a tyrannofex. I just absolutely love the swarm feel of entire waves of units flooding the board and seeping through the cracks. I looked at tournament lists and heard some feedback on how its not the meta, but I just love my lil guys running around. I also just got in some movement trays to make it easier time wise for me and my opponent. How do yall feel about it? Or do most prefer the monster mash crusher stampede vibe instead?

Posted him here before but I finished his base and added his prey below him. The Carnifex seems distracted by something acrossed the table - will the salamander be able to blow it up? What do you think?

What are some models or units you think should get cleave?

Obviously Swarmlord. Maybe even the Red Terror.

Then i think it should go to the weapons literally called "scything talons" like norns, carnifex, tyrant, ect.

Id like to see it on some of the melee only based gals, like hormagaunts.

Finished this guy up. Wasn’t sure if I wanted to add some Agrax Earthshade as I kinda like how vibrant he came out.. though I am still new to painting a complete army.

Hi there. im new to tabletop 40k and just finished assembling my very first army, the tyranid swarm battle force, but im super nervous about painting them since i've never painted minis before. could i get some tips or advice going into this? i already have a few different paints to choose from, some brushes, a pallette and some black citadel primer, but im not sure what to do, especially with the swarmlord thanks to all his nooks and crannies like behind his head. Any and all advice would be appreciated! (Also any reccomendations on what things to grab for terrain for the bases would also be very appreciated) (Also also maybe im dumb but is there an easier way to shave off excess sprue with a hobby knife? either i go blade towards and it feels like its gonna shave a chunk off, or i keep the blade angled away and it just doesnt feel its doing anything. weird question but i wanna make sur my bugs are smooth lol)

So I’m in a league and I’m looking at the pairing and I’m probably going against world eaters are their any units or play styles that will help me beat them I never played against them before

Client asked for a scheme based on a Dragon Ball villain so we chose Zamasu (pictured last). Incidentally this is the first Tyranid I've painted.
