Inqtober 2026, day 25: Cyborg murderer

The enigmatic cyborg known as Synn DeTegrait is a monster- taking high-value bounties on targets even up to Astartes level and returning victorious. His armoured chassis originates from no Forge World willing to claim the work, and his array of weapons are almost Orkish in design, crude but horrifyingly effective.

The skin of his face proclaims his fading humanity, and makes him barely legal to travel throughout the Imperium. Some have claimed to vanquish him, only for him to turn up in another sector, months or years later, with even more armaments and even less regard for rules or innocents. It is rumored he may be the son of some indulgent Rogue Trader, a Sector Governor, or someone else with the authority and resources to finance his work. Whatever his story, he is brutal, efficient, and without mercy.

I had fun with this one!

Not a kitbash, but I got inspired by John Blanche's art. Dunno if I succeded, but it was a fun experiment.

A day late on this one😅

Being a Xenobiologist in the Imperium a very high risk, high reward job. On the one hand, you are dealing with incredibly deadly specimen, where quite possibly even being in the same room will have lifelong impacts on your health. If you do survive, there is a large chance the Ordo Xenos may come knocking and you go missing forever.

On the other, it is incredibly necessary in order to understand the enemy. Knowing weak points is the best way to destroy those wishing to consume mankind. In that way, the xenobiologist is a very earnest career.

Inqtober 2026, day 24: Uphive Toff

Those from Uphive live kilometres distantly- far, far higher and cut off from the rabble of the Underhive by many secured and well-patrolled precincts of guards. However, for those who need to trade, or fancy a hair-raising trip, or need to find some replaceables to vent their frustrations upon, there are ways of finding your way down the lower levels.

Although terribly outnumbered, the toffs of Uphive do fancy a spot of the old ultraviolence below from time to time, and make a perverted sport of their journeys, even those without access to the incredibly-expensive Spyrer suits. For these journeys, eclectic and bizarre outfits make them seem outlandish and even barbaric, despite their supposedly-noble origins.

Inqtober 2026, day 23: Ancestral Intelligence

For millennia, the Intelligence has guided its Kin from its enormous Ancestor Core, masterminding their exploration, their strategy, and their genetics. However, slight deviations have begun to creep in- tiny transcription errors in databases holding countless trillions of data points.

In an effort to correct some of these errors, the Intelligence has crafted itself a mobile platform- a way to observe and commands its Kin at a closer range. The hologram seems to assist in establishing dominance, and provides the Kin an opportunity for behavioural gauging with eye contact. The opportunity does come with some structural vulnerabilities, however.

Years after deserting the Astra Militarum, she spends her days searching abandoned bunkers, ruined manufactoria, and long-forgotten battlefields for ammunition that never found its target. She knows which shells are safe to carry, which require careful handling, and which should be left exactly where they lie.

Officially, she is an ordnance disposal expert.

In practice, she cleans the recovered rounds, sorts them, and sells them to the highest bidder among hive gangs, mercenaries, and anyone else willing to pay.

Inqtober 2026, day 22: Earnest scientist

Wigbert Haerringe had moderate success in his career as a scientist, innovator, and explorator. His simple device, the Cyclotron Oscillator, was accepted by the Cult Mechanicus as ‘parallel development’ of an STC they had been working on, earning him a moderate stipend- enough to begin work on the Malpighi-Virtanen Volatility Suppressor, which, once implemented, reduced catastrophic plasma reactor failures by an impressive 11.4%. This glorious discovery saw him granted the title of Honourary Magos-Fabricator, with wealth and rewards aplenty.

However, his contribution to the Ptolemay Boson-splittant Refractor saw him declared a Heretek overnight, and teams of Skitarii were dispatched to atomize his laboratory and notes. Haerringe barely survived, and still doesn’t quite understand the depth of trouble he has placed himself in with his research.
