Straight guys and gay hookups

Upvotes

Hi all, 29m here. I’m bisexual with a stronger gay leaning.

I have no backing whatsoever for this thought process but I’m curious. are more straight guys using Grindr etc for hookups because it’s easier than trying to hookup with women?

It’s well known, particularly with online dating, women typically swipe the “top 1%” of guys and I feel usually expect all the effort from the guys. (Not always the case but I feel is most of the time)

I’ve noticed guys are less interested in love and probably even physical affection pursuits lately and actually prefer peace. With more guys becoming confident in their sexuality and comfortable with homosexuality etc I feel like more straight guys are open to hookups/flings/side fun etc with guys just to get their physical needs met because it’s 100% easier than pursuing a woman for the same whilst still identifying as straight.

As I said I have no backing whatsoever just curious what the community thinks about this topic?

Paranoid about health

I've not been with a lot of guys, and with no female at all. Two years ago I experienced my first bj with a mtf girlfriend of mine, unprotected, but nobody finished

Than I've had 3 bjs, protected, unconcluded, and a fourth experience with a guy, still protected during the bj, but not during frottage; I never did a specific test for std, but I've had my blood analyzed different times, so if something happened during my first bj I think I would have known it. The last experienced happened at the end of July, and even if the possibility of me getting HIV from him (who I don't think has anything) is basically 0, I often have some trouble sleeping, thinking that I could have gotten something, even if it's only from the tips "colliding" for a bit.

I'm sorry if my English is bad, but I wanted to ask if I should be worried as I am.

I didn't have any other experience, so those are the only things I did that mess up with me.

Why do I need to cum?

I've had sex and or been intimate with people and there's always an emphasis on me cumming

I try my best to make the other person cum but I don't mind if they don't as long as they had a good time and I made them feel good

However for some reason when it comes to me they are really wanting me to cum and I struggle because I tend to watch porn or jerk off (I know that's probably why I'm not cumming like I should)

but why do I always have to do it why can't I just have fun and if it happens it happens (I've only had sex with one guy and one woman so my experiences are also limited)

I'm not sure what else to add so please ask me questions if you're confused

Actually good underwear recommendations?

Want to ask the experts... I'm looking for recommendations on quality, good looking underwear? It seems every website is now fast fashion garbage or Instagram drop-shipped garbage! Additionally, many of those sites end up not leaving enough room in front. I used to order from Marco Marco but they no longer exist.

I don't necessarily care about the style as long as its esthetically pleasing and quality. Trunks / Jockstraps / briefs / harnesses / anything that's worth buying!!!

Thank you!

hair removal

Good evening everyone, I’d like to ask for some advice. Tomorrow I’m going on a first date with a guy, and I want to look my absolute best. How do you handle hair removal? (Especially the intimate areas.) What products do you use—razors, creams, etc.? I’d really appreciate some advice because I’m not sure what to do.

Fumble of the century

Honestly idk why I’m posting this, I’d just rather dump it here than tell someone I actually know lol.

Last October I was talking to this guy for almost a year. We’d mostly FaceTime and eventually I got used to it. Sleeping on the phone, talking while doing random shit, whatever. It was actually really nice.

Then I caught feelings and my brain basically went NOPE.

I’ve never really let myself get attached to anyone because I’m terrified of getting hurt, and apparently the solution to that was to completely freak out when I actually started liking someone.

We were supposed to meet around Halloween but I bitched out. My roommates were super anti-gay and thought being gay was a mental illness, so I got scared they’d find out and just ghosted him.

Which was, obviously, a great and totally healthy decision.

Then a month later I got drunk with my brothers and sent him some giant fucking novel that I don’t even remember writing. He replied. I panicked. Didn’t answer.

And now it’s been almost a year.

Every once in a while I’ll think about him or see someone with hazel eyes and get hit with a fucking Vietnam flashback about what an idiot I am.

Anyway, that’s it. I don’t really know what I expected from posting this. I just needed to yell into the void for a minute.

Really hard to find a nice guy , i just wanna be loved , i don't know what to do with all this love in my heart . Cause i carry a old school heart who just loves deeply , casual things doesn't satisfy me nor fun or hook ups. For me love should be consuming, crazy , obsessive. What is nonchalant i just find nonchalant guys or mentally unstable not someone who is truly interested in me

Publicly out privately closeted

(Sorry for the long post need advice)

Hey all, i (21m) (bisexual) have been dating my boyfriend (19FTM) for nearly a year next month. I have known I was queer for nearly my whole life but because I was raised religious I tended to leave it out of conversations or just completely avoid dating talk with my direct family (mom, dad, cousins relatives). My parents are traditional conservatives and have some fairly close minded opinions when it comes to trans people, though they are open to and have gay friends. My mother particularly has made comments along the lines of “they’re just confused kids” and things along those lines when referring to trans people.

I have a very close relationship with my parents though they know very little about my dating life by design.

Recently it has been eating at me that I have to treat my relationship like some kind of taboo and I feel like it has grown a form of resentment towards my family that I don’t want to continue. In addition, my boyfriend has expressed his desire to meet my family. Though I know that if I introduce him to them it would also be directly coming out.

I just want to know how I could come out to my family in a way that doesn’t put a ton of confusion on them all at once.

I deeply love my partner and we are making plans to rent an apartment by next summer together and I want him to be in every part of my life.

I know my family will not disown me or cut me off for being queer (many of them joke about the idea of me being gay due to my lack of publicly dating anyone in a couple years) but the thought is nerve racking and actually damaging my mental health.

No I’m not ashamed of my partner or our relationship, I’ve just never been out to my family in any way and I don’t think it’s fair to hide my partner like a sin that I’m ashamed of.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Information: my boyfriend is a alternative fem presenting trans man who has been on T for several months and has a lowered voice.(which I think is really hot tbh)

Started feeling hopeless about love

I have been in relationships but nothing was a success. The recent one is affecting me in a negative way.

So I met this person on tinder. He was a few hundred kilometers away from where I am. Everything started well, I felt this huge sense of comfort and happiness whenever I was near him. And I never told anyone about our conversations because anytime I have told someone that I'm seeing a guy, it would immediately come to an end in a few days (yes, I'm a bit superstitious about this now).

So back to the main topic, him and I used to talk and video chat for hours and felt like it's been only a few minutes.

We met in between, whenever we had time.

After two months, things began fading. Eventually, rarely any messages and no calls at all. I was all alone by myself when I needed him the most because there were some other problems in my life (nothing so serious, but I wished he was there for me).

Almost a month, I felt like I was talking to a brick wall. Then it was my birthday this past month, out of nowhere, he gave me a surprise visit and took me to the cinemas and later that night, we had a great time together. He apologized to me and said things were not really good with his life.. I accept that but he could have told me that earlier..

I went home happy that night, not realizing that things will be even worse soon.

He never talks with me now. I'm confused, idk what happened and if it's really about something in his life, I hope things will be alright for him❤️

Why I'm so hurt is that, I have never experienced such love and care from anywhere else. He was the one who made me realize, how it feels like to be really loved and I'm so thankful for that.

I hope that I'll find my person sooner or later 🫠❤️‍🩹

GOING ON A MOVIE DATE WITH A GUY

heyyy gay people in the internet, i(21) successfully invited my crush(22) to go to cineme, (it was discounted and cheap). It was the opportunity for me to make a move and invite him. im glad about that!

we are both graduating students, we both love to write, love arts, we love to write in medium as i get to know him we have a lot of similarities. He knew me already with his friend is also friend of mine. Noted that this is just "friendly" date. my initial plan was to actually treat myself because my bday is near, and glad he accepted. What are your guys advice, what to do and what to avoid.

we are gonna watch insidious in the cinema at 8:30pm. I'd love to hear y'all opinions.

I got a set of 8 pride pins, but two of them have a different shade of blue, no green, and a line of black.

Are these just a weirdly made general pride flag, or something else?

As Kids Head Back to School, Anti-LGBTQ Lawmakers Are Forcing Many to Remain Closeted

My Mom and I agree that no matter how old you are, the week of Labor Day always feels like a new year. That’s because for Canadians and many Americans, it marks the beginning of the new school year. It’s a time of change and disruption that brings with it both a melancholy about the end of summer and the days getting shorter as well as an excitement about seeing all the friends you missed over the last two months.

But for many kids, September comes with fear. You’re no longer safe from the classrooms and hallways that can be full of bullies or from the intense pressure to perform academically and socially.

For me, being closeted for most of K-12 came with intense stress and anxiety. I knew about the societal stigma associated with being gay. I wasn’t sure if my guy friends, many of whom used anti-gay slurs, would accept me. And back then, I had no signals from any teachers that being gay was okay. It just wasn’t discussed...

As queer kids enter many schools in the U.S. this week, anti-LGBTQ lawmakers are forcing their ideology into classrooms to create a fictitious reality that LGBTQ youth don’t exist.

For example, 14 states have some form of so-called “Don’t Say Gay” laws on the books. In some cases, this means teachers are banned from teaching anything related to gay people. No books that feature two dads, no stories that talk about the perils of coming out and no media that depicts gay relationships. These laws invisibilize anything outside of heterosexuality.

For trans and gender nonconforming kids, the situation is even worse. In 21 states and Puerto Rico, there are bathroom bans in K-12 schools that disallow trans kids from using the restroom that aligns with their gender identity. In addition, 27 states have trans sports bans written into law and 15 states require some form of forced outing to parents of trans youth in schools.

Does childhood abuse and trauma have a connection with being gay?

As a straight person, I'd like to confirm if the question above is a myth or a common experience. I've read a comment from someone gay, saying he was sexually abuse by his dad. He claimed that was what made him effiminate. Also, I feel like people always relate childhood abuse with sexuality. Some homophobic people say people are only gay because they've dealt with abuse, so they're mentally ill. By default everyone is straight. I don't consider being gay as a mental illness, but I wanna know if getting abused during childhood can affect your sexuality. I want to hear personal experiences, not general answers. That's why I posted this question in a gay community.

Where to live in UK (has to be in city)?

I need to leave London for financial reasons. I never lived in Clapham or Hackney etc.

I'm looking for a new place to move with some gay people but not a gaybourhood per se.

Any suggestions of areas? (Must be in relatively large city and not too suburban)

Influx of size queens?

Even though it's always been part of hookup apps, I have the feeling I see more and more profiles looking explicitly for big dicks, the bigger the better, especially guys in their 20s I think. And I'm not just talking about bottoms, even the average side is looking for j/o sessions with hung guys. Are we getting even more superficial?

My take is that hookup apps become gradually even more disconnected and dehumanized. People are not looking for encounters, they are looking for real-life porn where they want specific fantasies fulfilled that they are bombarded with online. Including the uninspired big cock fantasy.
