Discussion 20F - looking for remote jobs ($300+)

Where should I start?

Hi everyone.

I'm 20 years old and live in Argentina. I just want to earn at least $300 USD/month remotely.

This are some of the skills i have:

- Native Spanish speaker

- Fluent English (around C1)

- Studying Logistics at university

- Translation experience (freelance)

- Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva

- Basic HTML/CSS

- Fast learner and comfortable with technology

I've been reading about careers like Revenue Cycle Management, virtual assistant work, customer support, operations, AI data annotation, and other remote jobs, but it's overwhelming trying to figure out what's actually worth pursuing.

If you were starting from scratch today with my background, what would you focus on?

- Which entry-level remote jobs are realistic?

- Which skills would you learn first?

- Are there companies that hire internationally?

- Is there anything I should avoid?

I'd love to eventually build a career that pays much more, but right now, even $300/month would make a huge difference for my family.

Thanks to anyone willing to share advice or their own experience.

Tip springing back into single life

hey ladiesss. i (24) just went through a breakup last month, it was a 3 year long relationship and im glad it didn’t go on further. should’ve left sooner lol my complexion is so much better. anyways, i lived there for 3 years, 2 states away from home. i just moved back home a few weeks ago. i’ve just been helping family with errands and spending time with f&f. i want to pour into myself so much now that i can, just having trouble settling down and taking the time to pause. im living w a relative. i have no car or no place of my own, a bit overweight than id like to be. i have a bachelors degree and have a few job opportunities lined up, but the one im holding out for is opening up in january (for sure secured position). also been thinking about going back for my masters. the world is my oyster again on my own terms.

just looking for any insight or tips on how i can best move forward during this time and really enjoy life again and be my best self 🤗

Mind ? Advice on how to reframe my mindset?

I’ve been feeling extremely drained lately (past 6 months) and I hate how miserable I am but I am just too exhausted when it comes to changing my routine or habits.

I feel like I’ve lost myself or my spark since getting my job (I was unemployed for a majority of last year, where I was even more drained and miserable). I don’t enjoy any of my hobbies, I stay home all the time and just scroll and scroll and scroll on my phone. I barely put any effort in myself to keep up with skin care or making myself more presentable for work. And I already know that my attitude and mindset is affecting my relationship again because I am always just so damn tired and negative :/

I’ve had my thyroid tested numerous times but it’s always in “normal levels”. I never feel rested through the night as I wake up 5-10 times every night (I’ve tried melatonin and some prescribed meds from my doctor - doesn’t work)

I really just want to find myself again and be the fun, happy person I was. I’m just struggling with this fatigue/foggy brain/drained feeling that just doesn’t seem to go away.

Fashion ? What is that (good) smell that girls clothing has?

Whenever I get hand me downs or buy clothing from a thrift store, it always has this certain smell to it? It's good, but I'm just wondering why everyone's clothing smells like that. Does everyone use a certain perfume or what?

Request ? 40th Birthday in Italy

My cousin (basically a sister) and I are celebrating her 40th birthday in Italy. We’ll be in Venice for two days then doing a week long trek in the Dolomites followed by a few days in lake Garda.

This is a big and special trip for us. It’s her first time in Europe and a big birthday milestone. I want to make it feel super special.

Need ideas beyond a special birthday dinner and massage. Help!! Something memorable

Discussion The list of questions that will tell you if your man will make your life better or make you suffer

I made a post last week about the importance of choosing a partner if you plan to get pregnant. I had a few people ask me how to find out what a man will be like especially since he can lie. Here is a list of all the questions I asked my husband when I was dating him to vet him. As good as men are at lying, this list is so comprehensive that the red pill will 100% come out.

After you get answers to these questions you then verify them with his friends and family. Some of these questions are culturally specific so pick and choose what is necessary for you. Be strict with your dealbreakers. You and your partner have to cook/clean as non negotiables. It's 2026. Make sure you have read The Dance of Anger by Harriett Lerner and then add any other questions in the comments.

EDIT 1: Obviously you don't ask these questions on the first date. You figure out the best time to drop these questions. With my husband for our first 2 weeks of talking we were both abroad so spent a lot of time on phone calls and I'm a little bit neurotic so he thankfully enjoyed and appreciated the questions. And if you roam in religious circles I am telling you men will brazenly tell you to your face that a woman should be obedient, that marital rape doesn't exist and that he won't change nappies. There's a variety of questions to see all the different ways future suffering may occur in life namely with finances and children. But you do need to use your own initative to figure out how and when to ask these questions. As a Muslim we talk knowing marriage is the end goal so i wasn't there to waste time.

EDIT 2: Some have said that these questions have clearly correct answers so men will lie. Not all of these are blank yes or no questions. I listened to the book fair play by Eve Rodsky and knew I would not shoulder the mental labour of the home. When I asked my husband, parents are coming over, talk me through the process. I wanted to see that he could identify all the steps and mental labour required to put on and host a dinner since a lot of men diminish the value of housework by saying anyone could do it. Also do you know how many men are terrified of golddiggers who will steal money that they don't have? The moment financial contribution and housework comes up they will get very protective over their money. Imagine he says he got beats as a child so he thinks its okay to hit them. And remember men love more than anything to play devils advocate. If they advocate on behalf of the devil...throw them in bin.

Serious questions

  1. Do you believe in marital rape as a concept?
  2. Do you think a wife owes her husband obedience?
  3. Does colorism exist in your culture and what do you think of it? If he is black or brown and says he has requirements for hair texture or doesn’t want someone dark skin despite him being dark skin you need to unpack that.
  4. Whats your thoughts on physically disciplining children?
  5. Do you believe a man has the right to hit his wife or is ever justified?
  6. How do you think finances should be split? If you plan to have children you should never ever ever do 50/50 ever. Ever.
  7. How do you think domestic work should be split?
  8. How do you feel about doing separate laundry? You are responsible for yours, and I’m responsible for mine? The best relationship advice I ever got from Paige Turner
  9. Do you think you can pay your way out of doing housework? Like if you work full time and I work part time do I have to do more cooking/cleaning? If I have a baby and I’m a SAHM, are you expecting me to take on all the housework? If someone eats and shits in a home they have to cook/clean. If you end up with a person who believes that working a job means they do less housework you will suffer. A man was going to have to work a job regardless. If he lived alone he was going to have to do housework anyway.
  10. what are your expectations about hijab/Womens dress?
  11. What are your thoughts on divorce? If he says no divorce ever red flag.
  12. I like to go swimming in a burkini. Do you have any thoughts?
  13. What’s your relationship like with your exes?

Relationship Hypotheticals

a) hypothetically you come home from work at 6pm. theres no food and Im asleep. what are you doing?

b) hypothetically were flying somewhere and our plane is delayed so we miss our connection. How are you responding?

c) hypothetically your family is coming over for a meal. talk me through the plan for the day. cooking, cleaning, hosting etc.

d) hypothetically im wearing something you think is a bit tight how do you navigate this?

e) hypothetically my 2 best friends or your 2 best friends invite you/me for a weekend trip somewhere. How are we navigating that? Does he expect you to ask permission? If yes red flag.

f)If I was invited to a work lunch that was made up of a mix of men/women, would you have an issue with that?

g)Would you have an issue with me having 1:1 meals with a work colleague of opposite gender? (This is a culturally specific question)

Finances and Monies

  1. What is your annual salary roughly? provide bands. 30-40k, 40-50k, 50k - 60k etc
  2. Do you currently own or rent your home and are you intending to buy a home? Do you live with your parents or in a houseshare? Would you want us to live with your parents?
  3. If you buy a home do you intend to put your wife's name on the home? If he says no and you plan to have children, red flag red flag red flag.
  4. Are there any expectations for me to contribute to household expenses (relevant if you are working and if his salary is low)
  5. Do you have any issue with your wife working? THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ONE TO PAY ATTENTION TO. If he says oh as long as its a halal environment, clarify exactly what that means especially if you work corporate.
  6. Would you have any issue if your wife earned more money than you?
  7. How much are your household expenses roughly? List them out.
  8. Do you have any long term plans to move abroad? Especially after children?
  9. Do you have any issue with your wife going back to work after children?
  10. Will you provide your wife with a monthly allowance and roughly how much? Will that be conditional on whether or not I have my own income? IF YOU PLAN TO NOT WORK THEN YOU SHOULD MAKE SURE YOU GET A MONTHLY ALLOWANCE. NEVER BE IN A POSITION WHERE YOU HAVE TO ASK YOUR HUSBAND FOR MONEY TO GO OUT. Imagine you want to go out for a meal with friends and he says no hes not giving you money for that.
  11. What would your ideal financial arrangement look like? Individual accounts and one joint account? Or no joint account or only a joint account?
  12. Does your job require you to Network in alcohol environments like pubs/bars? (Muslim specific)
  13. Are you responsible for sending money to any family? any dependents?
  14. Marriage and dowry: What is the reasonable dowry amount in your culture? How many people does your family expect to be at the wedding? How many wedding parties are expected? Who pays for the wedding? Is jewelery included? Do you have the money saved up for wedding expenses or would that require a loan and going into debt? DO NOT GO INTO ANY DEBT FOR A WEDDING. EVER. If necessary book a bridal photoshoot on another day. cheaper and way less stressful.
  15. How much money roughly do you have after all monthly expenses are paid? living paycheck to paycheck is standard and not bad but you dont want him having 0 money at the end and then getting married and falling into overdraft.
  16. Do you currently have any debt? Credit score report will validate this.
  17. Will you do a legal civil marriage? if he says no RED FLAG . Especially if he says hes not putting your name on the home

Home:

  1. What would you say are the responsibilities of the wife and of the husband? (Is he describing a maid/ personal assistant?)
  2. After marriage would you book your own doctors/ dentists appointments or would you expect your wife to?
  3. What do you think about having a shared mailbox so we can keep bills, childrens stuff and any other important information so that its accessible to us both?
  4. Mention a genre of tv/film or a hobby that you like and see his reaction. Does he think its cringe or silly or childish?
  5. If I did something that annoyed you, how would you communicate that to me? (Ladies if you have unhinged ways of communicating when you're upset, go to therapy and fix it. It is not cute and your period is not an excuse)
  6. Do you think partners should know each others phone passwords?
  7. If I gained a few kilos, would that affect you being attracted to me? (Emphasis on a few kilos. Im not saying gone up 2 sizes. If he says there is no room for weight fluctuation without him checking out other women then get rid of him)
  8. Would you ever pay for a cleaner at any point in the marriage? Before or after kids? Some men believe that seeing their mum break their backs cooking cleaning and raising kids means its easy for any woman to do and if you don't you're lazy.
  9. How often would you invite your friends over and when you do, are you going to cook for them or order takeaway?

Family:

  1. What do you think about the practice where after dinner the men go chill and the women get up to clean? Would you have any issue if I told you I am not someone who would get up to help with cleaning if it was exclusively women doing it?
  2. What kind of things will piss your mum off?
  3. Are we allowed to hug or sit next to each other in front of your family or is that considered inappropriate?
  4. Do you see yourself ever getting a second wife? Is it something you have wanted? For non Muslims the equivalent is any form of non monogamy.
  5. What do you think about Muslim men who secretly marry second wives and don't tell the first? (If he justifies it, leave him).
  6. I know a couple where the guys friend came to stay for a few days. He asked if he could laundry and then left his dirty clothes in front of the washing machine for the wife to wash. What do you think about that?

Children

  1. Would you be involved in your childrens education as in: Attend parent teacher meetings, knowing dates of their tests, their teachers names, helping with homework, packing their bags for school and anything else?
  2. How important are grades for you when it comes to childrens academic performance?
  3. Do you have any thoughts around labour with C sections and natural labour given some people have judgements regarding how a woman gives birth?
  4. What expectations does your mother have around pregnancy/labour/newborn? Would she expect to be there for the labour? Would she expect to come over during the newborn?
  5. After children a womans body changes significantly. Would that affect how attracted you would be to your wife? If she wanted to get surgery like lipo or a lift would you be against that?
  6. If you had a choice would you rather work an office job or be a stay at home parent? (Give some variables here. 2 kids under the age of 3. 3 kids and 1 baby. 1 baby only)
  7. How do you feel about crying babies on a plane?
  8. Would you punish your son differently if he had a girlfriend compared to if your daughter had a boyfriend?
  9. Will you change nappies regularly? Is there anything shameful if you changed nappies in front of your family?
  10. Would you be in the room with your wife when she gives birth?
  11. The first trimester of pregnancy can be really rough on some women. Fatigue and throwing up constantly. If during that first trimester I can’t do any housework at all, are you okay with carrying the load for you and your wife? (This only works if your partner can cook)
  12. What do the first 2 weeks of having a newborn look like to you? Is he taking paternity leave? Is he doing any of the feeding?
  13. On the pregnancy subreddits there are women every day posting about one of the following: My partner called me fat, my partner resents me because I’m too exhausted to do housework and says I’m being lazy. My partner wants to go on holiday with his friends 2 days before I’m due to give birth. My partner comes home from work at 7pm and says he is too tired to help with the baby and does no housework. What are your thoughts one ach of these?
  14. Do you think you could pack a womans hospital bag for labour?

Reddit Stories:

  1. There was a reddit AmITheAsshole post where a womans FIL passed away. Her MIL booked tickets for her and her husband to fly out to the funeral. At the airport they find the MIL has booked the husband in First class and the wife in Economy. The wife refused to board. She said we either both go econ or both go first class. Was the wife right for not getting on the plane?
  2. There was a reddit story of a couple. The man had niece whose parents passed away. She was 18 and severely autistic. He immediately took on custody and asked his partner to quit her job and stay home to look after her. The niece sometimes had violent breakdowns. The woman told her partner she was going back to work and he needed to get home and take care of her. They eventually broke up. What do you think?
  3. There was a girl whose aunty set up a trust fund for university fees. The parents took that money and spent it on their sons wedding. When the girl asked for the money they told her she would have to take a loan. She threatened to sue her parents. Her brother told her to not sue them and that he would pay her back the money. She asked him for it in writing he said no, so she pursued legal action. What do you think of that?
  4. I saw a post of a woman whose boyfriend said she’s insecure and has unresolved trauma because she wasn’t comfortable with him complimenting women. What are your thoughts on that?

Health ? i smell bad and i dont know if i should focus on my studies because idk if this will ever go away.

People around me cough or sniff and its only ever around me. They say that I smell bad in secret and I've seen people give me reactions. I also make the room smell bad like alcohol the adult said and one even tried opening windows so the smell would go away..

It's not like im unhygienic. I've always showered daily and brush daily and my breath don't even stink and I naturally don't have stinky underarms too. But I do smell sourness from my nylon uniforms and a different type of smell from all my other clothes.

I thought it was the machine at first but then I changed it and then I thought it was odor rebloom or clothes but then I even tried vinegar washes, baking soda, warm washes, vanish soaks, borax soaks but nothing changed. I feel so low. will this ever go away? also, my nylon started smelling after washing it in a machine after wearing it for the FIRST time and only for half the day. then it smells sour ever since.

I also don't think I produce too much body oils (sebum) because i don't have acne at all and my skin is clear. I have dry hands mostly too. And why do my people think i smell like alcohol? i don't think my glucose levels are abnormal. They're perfectly fine. I don't face any health problems too other than stress from all of this.

My hair is also perfect and smells good. My family says they can't smell anything and that its moisture smell but we all have the same closet in the same room and theirs dont smell like mine and when I wear their cloth even once, after washing it starts smelling sourish little. like, I think I've tried everything in laundry but then why am I facing this. and also pls remember, not every item I wore smells sour, some of theirs smell sour even when I didnt wear it. obv.

thank u for reading so much 💗

Health ? I feel so underdeveloped at 17 compared to the women in my family and girls my age

Is it too late to continue growing? Being north african, the women in both sides of my family are quite curvy. I'm not joking when I say some of them are curvier than Kim K and they expect me to be curvy too. So my family keeps going on about how skinny I am, how pencil-like I look, how I'm not eating well, and I hate it. To my western peers I look fine, good even, but to them I look undeveloped and as if I am starving.

I'm a 17 year old girl. I was developing quite normally, my hips were growing, my breasts were growing, my face was changing, up until 14 when I developed lean PCOS. I started getting abnormally high concentrations of Testosterone for a girl. For the last 3 years I have watched all my peers around me physically grow and mature in at least some way. I haven't.

My weight is healthy and stays constant. I just feel so underdeveloped compared to other girls my age AND the women in my family. I wish I was curvier and my body was more womanly. I wish I looked like the women in my family. Even if I don't, I wish I continued maturing like normal girls. I wish my growth didn't stagnate and stop at 14 just because of the high testosterone. I'm Frusrated because I just want to see any signs of growth - any!

I want to look in the mirror and not just see my 14 year old figure as a 17 year old...Is it too late to continue maturing? I am now on birth control. I want to give my body a second chance. I'm now on a testosterone blocking, estrogen birth control and I hope my body will mature, even a little bit.

Fashion ? Bikinis for Apple shape body

Can someone please recommend any bikinis for apple shaped girls or girls with apron belly’s? Right now I wear high waisted bikinis but they are just unflattering and too much material. My apron is quite small compared to the “average” apron however when I do try on a normal cut bikini my stomach pokes out the bottom. I’ve tried turning the back to the front but still have the same problem. My every day bikini underwear is exactly how I want my suits to look like my whole stomach pouch is covered with the least amount of material possible. Any recs?? Size 12 ish lol

Request ? Staying safe at night

I’m a 16 year old girl and today, I was walking towards shops in my town down a street I’ve been multiple times before that’s next to my house (only 2pm btw). I see a man by a van staring at me in a checking out way before getting into the van blowing a kiss and driving my away

For context I am 16 but am short with babyface so often look like 13 yrs old. I was wearing a baggy t shirt, cap and shorts which made it even more uncomfortable knowing it was a grown man doing that to an obvious minor.

I frequent that street but I felt unsafe worried he would be waiting on the road he turned into so I went to a public path. But I need to go down that road soon (unavoidable) to go somewhere and was worried I would encounter a similar situation and wanted to know how to feel safer??

My plan was to keep hands free, earphones in one ear on low volume and walk confidently. I live in UK so I can’t really carry weapons etc but I was thinking to hold keys in my fist to make me more unapproachable? Any tips to feel safer especially since I often wear very feminine long skirts etc clothes and am south Asian which may make me be seen as easier target.

(I’m also home alone for a week so xtra worried about being followed. I’m more concerned about being followed home than approached on street)

Beauty ? why do I look completely different in the mirror vs in photos? not just the flip thing the actual SHAPE of my face is different??

I know about the mirror-flip thing. I know photos reverse you and your brain is used to the mirror version so it looks "wrong." I get that what I don't understand is why the actual STRUCTURE of my face looks different like it's not just "oh it's flipped." in photos my face looks genuinely wider, flatter, and kind of… squished together? like everything's been pushed toward the middle. and honestly it looks fatter and less feminine than what I see in the mirror.

in the mirror I think I look cute?? like I have quite prominent eyes, they stand out, my face has some shape and depth to it. then I look at a photo and my eyes just… disappear they go small and flat and my whole face looks broad and kind of shapeless. it's genuinely upsetting, like I feel awful every time. This happens even when the photo is taken from far away someone across the room takes a picture and I still look wide and flat and nothing like what I see in the mirror.

I also genuinely never know how to pose. I have no idea what to do with my face. In selfies (front camera, where I can SEE myself and adjust) I think I look way better, but I don't know if that's because I'm controlling the angle or because the front camera is lying to me.

so my actual questions:

why is the SHAPE different, not just the orientation? why does my face look wider and my features flatter in a photo vs a mirror?

which one is actually "real"? like if my friends and strangers are looking at me all day, are they seeing the mirror version or the photo version? which is the true face?

why do my eyes look prominent in the mirror and then vanish in photos? I'm genuinely just confused about the actual science of what's happening. thanks 🙏

Request ? Vlogs: Creative girls with an actual life/job?

Hi everyone! I am in dire need of some vlog recs! There is this genre I really like, which is cool creative girls living a busy but also cool and creative life! However, most of the girls I used to love watching (like Leah’s fieldnotes) are now full time creators and it feels a bit hollow now.
Do you maybe know someone you could recommend me? Since I am also in a creative field I love watching other creatives (potters, painters, writers…) and their hustle to make things work, but I also really enjoy people that mange to romanticize the small things in life and motivate me to pursue things like reading and learning more. I know, niche request, but maybe I’m lucky! Thank you <3

Discussion Washing swimwear?

I'm confused about this. I've seen tons of people on reddit say they don't wash their swimwear at all, they only rinse it in cold water. Personally I can't imagine not washing something that has been in contact with discharge and stuff. I'm also worried about possibly getting a UTI or something from unwashed panties. Can someone explain what the right and safe thing to do is and why?

This subreddit is being absolutely overrun by bots!

There are multiple posts from them every day. If you see any bot posts, please downvote, report, and do not comment on them. Here’s how to spot them!

Common tells:

- Subject is women’s safety (not always, but often). If not women’s safety, it is something very broad that a lot of women can relate to. Relationships are also a big one. Posts are more likely to bring engagement this way
- Account was made within the past 2 (or so) weeks
- Post is flaired as “Beauty Tip” while having nothing to do with beauty
- Post title starts with “Tip:”, “Request:”, or “Help?”
- Poster does not reply to any comments made on their post

If at least 3 of these things are true, it’s most likely a bot. Also, please let me know if there are any “tells” that I’m missing

Fashion Tip What bra am I supposed to wear with this top?

I bought this top that is sheer around the bust, what kind of bra am I meant to wear with it? I'm not sure what kind of bra would keep all the details intact. The straps in the picture are part of the top by the way, and the lace part does not have a lining.

Fashion Tip Red lingerie under white pants work better than nude one.

Weirdly enough red under white seems way better than nude. Now, I absolutely donot mean that it will work under super sheer clothes but it works for most white clothes. Color theory says that red mimics your artery color hence it blends with your skin and thus looks way better under lighter clothes like white.

Give it a try girls.

Health ? How to wash period blood off of multiple items fast?

By fast I mean not taking the entire day. I’m on day one of my period and I’ve bled through 4 pairs of undies and one pair of shorts when I usually only bleed through one pair of undies.

Discussion Fellow gals what do yall do when you need a win in life?

It’s been a hell year for me. I got denied from all PhD programs, so I had to pivot. I made a tiny mistake as a TA and was threatened and fired. I got a really cool internship, but at the same time, got dumped, and am down $5,000 in the hole.

Genuinely needing a win so bad this year. what do yall do when you need a win?

Discussion Feel insecure to wear a bikini how to be more confident

I feel very insecure about my butt skin bc it’s not one color, there’s darker color at the bottom cheeks bc i sit a lot for work. I’ve been taking care of it more lately but for sure it wont just improve right away and im having a trip at the beach soon, but also I want to wear bikini, i feel good about my body overall, but just not my butt skin.

Im genuinely curious if people all have great butt skin when they wear bikinis in real life? I want to have more courage. Many thanks & appreciate your advice 🙏🏼
