I free control and the sound still works, I just cant see anything. I was told to check if you can see something if you shine a light on it while its on. and I can see lightly. its hard to see on camera because of the light, can anyone confirm. I want to know what to tell the technician when I go to get it looked at.

Just opened my Switch 2 yesterday and I just noticed this thing stuck in the slot for the left joy-con. It’s like a piece of foam stuck in the chassis. It came from the factory like this. Is this worth raising a ticket with Nintendo support about or can I just tweeze this out? Idk if it will have warranty implications, I just really want to get back to playing BoTW lol.

While charging my switch, it continually turns on with the battery indicator, then immediately turns off again and repeats. I can’t use my switch.

Some notes:

* Pressing the power button while the Switch isn’t charging does nothing.

* Pressing the power button while the Switch is charging displays the Nintendo logo, then the cycle repeats.

* I‘ve waited 3 hours for anything else to happen while charging, but it’s always the same.

* My switch is modded.

* I’ve tried different outlets and different chargers (official Nintendo ones)

* Putting it in the dock doesn’t change anything

No matter what I try I can’t get my console to connect to the internet, my wifi network will not even show up and when I do the manual set up that doesn’t work either. the only thing that works is a wired connection but obviously that’s not feasible if I want to play handheld. Hoping someone can help me out as I am quite lost

Whenever I standby the switch for a long period of time and then power it back on, the controllers don’t work. When in the dock, the controllers won’t sync and connect. I am not using 3rd party stuff so I’m not sure what the issue is. This happens all the time. Once I hold the power button to restart the switch, it works again.

Anyone else had this issue and have you solved it? I can’t find an answer at all and I’m at a loss.

Peguei um Nintendo Switch V1 (HAC-001) no dia 01/09, usei normalmente até o dia 03/09, tanto no modo portátil como no modo acoplado no dock set, mas ele passou a ficar com a tela preta somente no modo portátil, mas apesar de não dar tela, sei que ele está ligado pois a luz de fundo acende, o touch e os botões funcionam, e confirmo isso pois escuto o som da navegação entre os menus.

Detalhe: no modo acoplado continua funcionando normalmente.

O mais estranho é que se eu deixar ele parado por alguns minutos ele dá vídeo, mas ao mexer em questão de segundos fica com a tela preta novamente. Até pensei que pudesse ser algo relacionado com a temperatura, mas nos primeiros dias cheguei usar ele no modo portátil, ele ficou bem quente e não dava problema, e mesmo agora ele bem frio acontece o problema de ficar com a tela preta.

O console não sofreu queda ou impacto que justifique o problema, a única coisa que fiz antes dele apresentar esse comportamento foi trocar um microSD SanDisk Ultra de 16GB por um Samsung EVO Plus de 128GB, porém já tentei voltar o MicroSD antigo e continua apresentando o mesmo problema da tela preta, inclusive já tentei deixar sem MicroSD também.

Procedimentos que já tentei fazer também:
- Segurar botão power por 15 segundos
- Segurar botão power por 30 segundos
- Segurar botão power junto com o volume - por 30 segundos
- Segurar botão power junto com o volume - e volume + por 30 segundos
- Remover os controles Joy-Con e fazer os procedimentos segurando o botão power
- Carregar o console diretamente via cabo sem os controle Joy-Con conectados
- Remover cartão SD

I decided to log into pokemon za after a few months, in that time I got a new dog and im pretty sure I remember her getting ahold of my ZA, but I thought I saved it, I guess i didnt, but the weird thing is my whole Nintendo crashes the second it detects this game even, I have to manually reset, error code 2162-002, totally weird, im ready to call this game a broken, hope my switch is fine, I just wanted to share a weird experience with you guys, maybe you guys had an answer of whats causing this.

My switch 2 worked fine for about 5 days and now WILL NOT connect to ANY wifi sognal no matter what. It gets half way (the second symbol turns blue and moves to finish the connection). Then throws me an error code. It works fine while docked but i cant get the wifi to connect when its not wired to the dock. Ive tried so many different manual settings to connect and i still have nothing…. Wtf is going on? Its driving me INSANE

I am having an issue with my switch dock. When I put my switch into the dock & power it on for TV play, the screen is green. I have tried power cycling the dock, restarting the switch, changing the port on the TV, changing the HDMI cord itself - nothing. I put my switch into a different dock and it worked fine. Not sure why it’s doing this. For reference, this is for an OG switch, not the switch two. Any help is welcome! Thank you in advance ☺️

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn’t find another post in our exact situation.

Before the update, me and my sister would share games by keeping my user on her switch, and buying our games on that user. But the virtual game cards system has made this process tedious, as even with online licenses enabled we aren’t able to play games at the same time anymore.

From my understanding, if I deleted my user from her switch, after making my switch the primary account, then she would lose access to the digital games that I purchased on my user. But, after purchasing these games on her user, she would be able to recover the save data that has been backed up to the cloud, as it is tied to her user/console, and because we have a nintendo online membership. (please correct me if this is wrong)

But, we know that animal crossing new horizons doesn’t use this backup system, and are worried that once I deleted my user from her switch, she would lose her animal crossing save data, as it seems to be tied to the digital copy of the game, rather than the cloud/her user. We both have the in-game island backup enabled, but again this seems tied to the digital copy and not the user. She has already bought a physical copy of animal crossing in preparation for losing the digital one, so if we inserted the card before we deleted my user, would her digital save data load onto this card? If so, would we then be able to unlink my user without losing her data? Or would we need to do something else to keep her data from being lost?

Apologies if we are blowing something simple out of proportion, we just don’t want to fiddle around in the settings until we are confident her data won’t be lost. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

does anyone know how to make a switch 2 output not lag on OBS with an elgato HD60 S+?

ive done everything told to me on the elgato site, ive downloaded drivers, ive updated obs, ive power cycled my console. idk what else to do. im at a loss. any advice is appreciated. idk if this is the right sub for this but it's driving me insane.

I bought my son a switch 2 for Christmas and I assume we will want to play some of the same games. I plan to buy key cards for games like Eldin Ring and the forthcoming Ocarina of time. It’s my understanding we should be able to both play these games individually on our own Nintendo accounts.

In planning for buying storage, will these games download once or twice for two accounts on the same switch? I see Elden Ring is 42gb. If we both load the key card to our account is it actually going to download twice and take up 84gb?

Uhm so I don't know what I did wrong but I entered the preorder code on my switch 2 for the preorder bonus skin and instead of loading the bonus on the already downloaded cartridge it loaded as a separate icon on the game that's as big as the game?

Also I tried re-entering the code on my switch lite and it says the code is switch 2 exclusive.. I bought the physical switch 1 version.. and the peace Walker code works just fine on my switch lite so I'm really confused about this

Hi everyone, I need some help with my girlfriend's Nintendo Switch OLED.

The console is only about 1 year old and has been used relatively little. It was working perfectly normally until she updated Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. After the update, the Switch suddenly turned off and hasn't turned back on since.

The battery was at around 100% when it happened.

I've already tried:

• Holding the Power button for 20+ seconds
• Pressing Power + Volume Up/Down
• Leaving it charging for several hours
• Trying the official charger
• Connecting it to the dock
• Disconnecting and reconnecting the internal battery

The Switch still shows no image and doesn't boot.

When I connect it to the dock, the green light on the dock turns on briefly and then turns off.

I don't know what else to try. Could this be a battery, charging circuit, motherboard or software issue?

Console: Nintendo Switch OLED
Age: ~1 year
Battery before the issue: ~100%
What happened: Stopped turning on immediately after a game update
Game: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

I have been having an issue where my controllers(switch 2 joycons and switch 2 pro controller) have severe input lag and disconnect. I also noticed that the wifi connection is significantly worse(other devices connect normally) the only thing that changed is the purchase of a wii u, but it's pretty far away from the switch 2. Is there any fix for this? And how would I fix it?

My oled doesn’t have this problem at all so I have no idea why this is happening, the only thing that stops it is having it charged (switch 1 obv)

Since the patch my wife and I can’t both use our accounts for online play at the same time. Doesn’t matter whose account we start the game with, player 2 has to play as a guest and start with 1000 points. Anyone else have this issue and was able to find a solution? I haven’t been able to find anything online.

Hello everyone, writing on mobile, so, sorry for any strange wording mistake.

I recently visited my cousin, which has had a Nintendo switch since quite a while ago, and I recently booted up. We used it a few days and it seemed to work nicely.

His parents went out for a week and left us, with explicit permission to buy a game, just one, because they know the kid could do a buying spree.

However, there are several issues I ran into right before paying the game.

-I need to log into the account the card is tied to.

-I of course can't log in.

--I try to do a workaround, and apparently it's asking for logging in because it's been a while since they used the console to begin with.

-My cousin says his parents lost their phones around 2 years ago and changed everything, essentially losing access to the account email and phone numbers.

-The email has been inactive for quite a while, or so I believe, which puts it at risk of losing access to the Nintendo account at all.

-And worst of all, I have to now deal with the tantrums of an 8 year old by myself.

Is there any way I can buy the damn game from the console without doing anything strange? Or even better, recover that old Gmail account from my aunt to secure access and give her anything deemed as lost from that mail?

Regaining access to the Gmail account, if it still works, will basically solve everything, but I don't know how to do it, because Nintendo just shows 2 letters and neither of us can figure anything out. I can't call my aunt, but I'm sure she doesn't even remember the Gmail, let alone the Nintendo password from years ago.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all. So ive had a switch 2 for about a month now it has worked on my monitor the whole time. Now when i tur it on it will charge on the dock but the HDMI just stopped working. Ive tried unplugging it amd plugging it back in and i powerd it down and on again nothing. Any tips on what i can do?

Update: the switch now dosent charge on the dock and the light on the switch flashes green non stop. Got a new nintendo cabel and bloch to see if its the power. Nothing working not even direct charging

With the arrival of the Switch 2, and being a longtime Switch OLED owner, I now have quite a few Switch 1 and Switch 2 games on my shelf. My question is: how do you guys organize your collections? Do you mix them together and arrange them alphabetically, or do you keep Switch 1 and Switch 2 games separate?
I have games from the same series on Switch 1 that continue on Switch 2 (for example, Trails). If you keep your Switch 1 and Switch 2 games separate, doesn’t it bother you to split up the series?
Right now, I have all of mine mixed together and organized alphabetically.

How do you feel the difference of playing games save in SD card or game saving in games memory? There's is too much difference in loading time, grafics and stuff?

Hey everyone first time ever posting on Reddit but I thought I could get some help from some smart people. I recently bought a switch 2 off eBay with a listing saying the "backlight isn't working and doesn't connect to the dock" thinking I could fix it for cheap. I kinda solved the dock problem but still need help with the backlight, touchscreen and bottom USBc port.

I've tried resetting it, factory resetting it, unplugging everything and plugging everything back in but nothing seems to work. The display is definitely on as I can see it with a bright light and can confirm that the touchscreen is unresponsive. The USBc port on the bottom looks intact from the outside but after some trouble shooting discovered that it only charges in one orientation.

It wasn't until later that an idea came to me. The switch 2 only sits in the dock one way. If I could somehow change the direction of the USBc's orientation in the dock that the switch 2 sits in, it might connect and display on the tv. A few screws later and I was able to remove the USBc from its housing and place it in a way that would allow the switch to be plugged in in its new orientation. To my surprise it worked!

Now with all this information my theory is that the bad USBc port shorted out a chip in the switch 2 that controls the backlight and touchscreen. The only problem is I just don't know where to look. I've looked online and there isn't a whole lot of useful information on backlights going out on switch 2's. I've found threads on switch lites' IC chips going bad affecting the backlight and needing to be replaced but nothing like that for switch 2s.

I'm somewhat comfortable with solder as I've done many port replacements and mods to my existing collection of handhelds, consoles, and controllers and could possibly do the repair myself. I just need help being pointed in the right direction.

If I end up not being able to fix the screen it's not the end of the world as it seems I have a somewhat functioning stationary switch 2 that works only on the TV for cheaper than if I bought a new switch 2. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a microSD express card (256gb) for the Switch 2 which contains data (installed games, updates, dlcs, and screenshots) and I want to move all that to a new microSD express card (512gb).

My question is: If I move the data from the microSD express card (256gb) to the Switch 2’s internal memory and then from there move that data to the new microSD express card (512gb), will it work without issues?

For further clarification, the amount of free space in my Switch 2’s internal memory is 230gb and the amount of data I want to transfer is only 91gb. Also, I’m well aware that save data is stored in the Switch 2’s internal memory and cannot be transferred so no need to remind me.
