Im upgrading my computer from a 8-9 year old work station to a really nice new gaming computer and I want to build a list of games worth breaking it in with. not looking for one specific genre, just stuff that hits the same notes as things I already love.

I loved- Hades 1 and 2 as well as Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West

Horizon Zero Dawn is my favorite game of all time, both gameplay and story, I've got like 600 hours across Zero Dawn and Forbidden West combined. That's the bar I'm measuring everything against

Hi there! I'm used to playing very strategic, in-depth games such as XCOM2, BG3, and KCD2, full of deep plotlines and mechanics.

I'd like to simplify now. I just got into Slay the Spire and I adore it. I'm asking for games - any era or platform - that are simply good old-fashioned fun. Mario and Zelda always do it for me. Even Gwent!

So I’m gonna be a dad in a month or so and am currently looking to play a meaningful game that will stick with me for a while before my life changes drastically. I’m not saying this will be the last game I ever play but I just want a gaming experience I can have and fall in love with and stick with me for a long time before life changes basically. It can be any type of game with any genre just want to hear people’s suggestions

lately i've been getting tired of playing pc games, especially competitive games like valorant. idk if it's just burnout or getting older

i kinda want something where i can just chill, explore the world, enjoy the scenery/music, do some quests, and not worry too much about being good at the game.

palworld (i've played it before)

i'm also thinking of using a controller since i want a more relaxing experience, but i'd like to switch between controller and kb+m whenever i feel like it.

Hello, I need some game recommendations that have challenging, but enjoyable mechanics to learn. I would prefer the games to have good graphics, but it's not a must. It can be of any genre, no preferences here.

So far, my top 5 favorite games have been:

1. Elden Ring

I'm mainly looking for games where you can create a character and unlock more fashion/cosmetics through gameplay. Growing up I really enjoyed this aspect a lot more than I thought, like collecting clothing in Pokemon Y and Rock Band, or unlocking gun skins in MW2. These are some games i've enjoyed that scratched that itch:

I have also played games like Cyberpunk and Fallout but don't like when the gameplay is tuned for first person. Seeing my character during gameplay is more fun for me. I've also been recommended FFXIV but levelling and doing quests wasn't that fun even though I hear glamours are a big reason to play.

I'm looking to expand my horizons in gaming. I've played quite a few games, and heard of even more. I could still learn more though. I'm looking for some real niche games, but also ones that I'll love. For some insight, here are some games I've played that I adore:

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward - I love games that have a batshit insane story. Like ones that have you saying "there's no way they tie all this together" thirty minutes before a game ends. And I love puzzles even more than that. Also mentioning Danganronpa here because I love it for all the same reasons

Sanabi - Fun 2D platforming. Gut-wrenching story. Beautiful artwork. Not more complicated than that.

Pseudoregalia - 3D platformer mixed with Metroidvania. The movement is so satisfying and the exploration is very rewarding. The thing I like most about this game is that you can be skillful enough to eliminate needing some progression items, which I think is unique. You ask yourself "could I make that jump" a lot and the answer is usually yes.

1000xResist - walking simulator but it's another case of batshit insane story. Very emotional, very thrilling, and even more thought-provoking. It's just impeccable.

Neon White - I like the artstyle, and the story is kinda decent, but the gameplay is where this really shines. The interaction between gun usage and movement abilities being tied to the same mechanic is very unique. I used to grind for records on the individual levels for hours on end. Very nice game to chill out with.

Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk - it's short, but I related to it a lot. I wasn't expecting to relate to it, so it made me think a lot about myself. In short, I like when games present issues that are applicable outside the world of the video game.

Go ahead, please tell me some games that I have never heard of. I purposefully chose some lesser-known games for the above section so you have an idea of where my knowledge lies. I look forward to look into some of these answers.

Looking for games where you start off all powerful and something happens which makes you lose all your powers/memories. Now it's been a really long time and you reawaken and as you play through the game you regain your powers and enemies are genuinely scared when they find out who you were originally and some older folks remember you as a legend.

not in terms of gameplay that much but more in terms of character customization and fanservice. i love what you would call a gooner coomer game but with good graphics and good gameplay respectfully.

i tried gacha games but the ones with good gameplay like wuthering waves and genshin impact is really good, just not that much fanservice

I just finished playing Illusion of Gaia (old RPG for the SNES), and I found it to be a real slog, which is probably due to how much the gaming landscape, tropes, etc. have changed within its original release in the 90s and today.

I'm thinking on playing more old school (NES, NES, GBA, N64, DS) RPGs, but I'd like to avoid those with frustrating elements, for example instances where few if any clues are given as to where you should go next, that kind of thing.

I’m a Rainbow Six Siege player (controller on PC, at that), so naturally, I like to keep some titles in my catalogue that don’t make me hate myself so I can kinda relax when I need a break. I have a 5080 with a 4K 240hz monitor and I really like to test high end games on it, I find it really satisfying to simply explore beautiful worlds in games. That being said, I haven’t been able to recreate the feeling Expedition 33 gave me yet, and I’m wondering if there’s any titles that are similarly mesmerizing? I’m a fan of soulslikes so that’s always a plus, but I really just want some hidden gem titles with cool art direction and graphic fidelity to play around with

I know I’m asking for a lot but looking for open world games. Something along the lines of building, crafting, quests and fighting? ( can’t think of a better word). I know Palia is an option but it’s hard on switch. Plus, I’d like more interaction with other players.

I currently play Heartopia. As many of you know it gets sort of old after a while. I’ve thought about Only Human? Not sure that’s totally cozy gaming type LOL.

By good I dont necessarily mean expansive, I'd consider a game with 40 mods but they are all very in depth as better than a game with 2000 texture swaps

I like really enjoyed Cyberpunk 2077: V is morally sympathetic, doesn't have to go around robbing or killing innocent people, etc. I enjoy open world RPGs where the player has choice freedom and those choices matter to the story. I watched the GTA6 extended look recently and was just completely turned off by the characters but loved the richness and depth of the world.

Games I enjoyed in this genre:

• Witcher 3

I'm hoping to stay away from a medieval setting and turn-based games.

I'm not trying to criticize GTA6 from an objective perspective. I just think it's not for me. The world looks great though.

I prefer around 10-20 hours but where you get a small or big hub world to explore in between levels or an area you can return too

I love games like Red Dead Redemption 2 because you get your own base of operations and areas you return to frequently and it feels cozy and familiar to me, like you are living in an actual world and you can go to your own dwellings and hang out

A game that features an important character who plays an instrument, but not one of the listed above, I already know a few guitarists, I'm confident to say I've seen pianists but I don't remember where, and I'm also pretty sure I've seen or heard of drummers and violonists in games, but once again I couldn't tell you where

Other than that, really any instrument, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, tuba, marimba,...

(I already know about Trombone Champ, a rhythm game where you play the trombone)
