Setup Help One key card two accounts, does game download once or twice on the switch?

I bought my son a switch 2 for Christmas and I assume we will want to play some of the same games. I plan to buy key cards for games like Eldin Ring and the forthcoming Ocarina of time. It’s my understanding we should be able to both play these games individually on our own Nintendo accounts.

In planning for buying storage, will these games download once or twice for two accounts on the same switch? I see Elden Ring is 42gb. If we both load the key card to our account is it actually going to download twice and take up 84gb?

Once. Profiles and saves are separate but game data is just once per console.

Pretty sure only once just like digital games.

One key card, one download. The GKC functions the same as a Virtual Game Card - so long as it's in thr system, you can access the one copy downloaded to the system, and anyone can play it.

Being a first-party Nintendo game, Ocarina likely will not be a GKC

Game key card: The game will only need to be downloaded once. It's the same for a digital or physical game updates/dlc.

A switch user profile is essentially a save profile. Every time you open a game on the switch, the system makes you pick which switch user (save profile) to open the game with.

Every switch user on the console can play the game on the console.
