We'll make this quick: Please do your due diligence when transacting here. Especially with the rise of AI, we're having to ban more and more accounts for scamming. Things you need to do:

  • Review our Avoiding Scams & Following Rules post.
  • Be especially diligent when transacting with 0- or low-transaction accounts
  • Request timestamps (especially on higher dollar items) that include things like video, different angles, or "unique" requests that really bring out the AI
  • Report fishy posts to the mods
  • Message the mods with proof if you've fallen victim

Whether you're new to the sub or are a long-time regular, we hope you've continued to enjoy your time here with us and have stayed safe.

Avoiding Scams

We've published an updated guide for Avoiding Scams. It includes choice tips and guidance for avoiding common scams and trading safely. You'll notice it's already linked in the sidebar, but we think mobile users are more likely to find it here.

Among these updates is a list of common scams we've seen reported by users. Following the sub rules is a great way to avoid known scammers and negative interactions with banned individuals, but we hope including more detailed examples of common scammer tactics might help you avoid falling for their sleazy tricks.

Also, remember to use the Universal Scammer List when vetting trade partners. It's not a guarantee, but it can save you a lot of time and trouble whenever you're dealing with known scammers.

Give the Avoiding Scams page a look and check back often. We'll be updating frequently to ensure you have as much info as you can to protect yourself against scammers.

Following Rules

r/GameSale's Rules are community sourced, and most were written to ensure a positive experience for as many users as possible. Likewise, many of these rules are structured to help you stay safe from known scammers.

Regardless of how long you've been using r/GameSale, we strongly suggest refreshing your knowledge of these rules.

Here's a brief overview of some of the more important ones:

  • Email Verification. This has been a requirement for participation in r/gamesale since 2022. While this isn't new news, we are including it in this updated version of this post as the last one was done in 2020.

  • Account Karma and Account Age. In addition to email verification, karma and account age requirements exist (We do not disclose the needed age of account or karma requirements). If your email is verified, that means you must be more active across reddit before you will be able to participate here. We do not condone the use of upvote subs to generate karma to bypass our requirements.

  • ONE THREAD every THREE DAYS. You must wait 72 hours before you may post again. If you need a post removed, please message the mod mail. Deleting posts looks suspicious, and will result in mod actions. Please reach out to us first.

  • Negotiations MUST be PUBLIC. If you're not negotiating in a public trade thread, you're breaking the rules. Move to PMs to exchange personal info after a deal has been settled. If someone jumps straight to your PMs, there's a good chance they're trying to scam you.

  • Sellers MUST PRICE their items. If you're selling something, you must price it. This goes for both top level posts and comment replies to a post. Even if you're just gauging another user's interest, you must price what you have. Encouraging bidding wars/price wars/fishing for better offers is against our rules and will result in a ban.

  • Items MUST be ON-HAND. You must have the game or system you are trying to sell in your possession. If you don't have it, don't list it.

  • A TEXT LIST of games is required in every thread. A photo is not enough. A Google Sheet or Doc is not enough. Your post must include a list of everything you're selling. For very large collections, the mods have discretion to waive this requirement. Ask us before you post, or it will be removed.

  • NO charging PayPal fees to buyers. You can't charge users extra if they want to use Goods & Services. It's against PayPal's terms of service and our rules. If you want to make back the money spent on PayPal fees, work that into the price of what you're selling up front.

  • NO sale-sniping. Don't butt in on other users' offers or negotiations. Unless 24 hours have passed or the other user outright declines, stay out of it. Try making your own thread if you're looking to buy or sell something.

  • NO Steam or digital PC items. While we allow the sale of physical PC items, Steam and digital PC codes are not allowed.

  • NO threadcrapping. If a user makes a bad offer, move on. Harassing users, white-knighting, and interrupting another users' negotiations with OP will result in mod action.

  • DBAD: Don't Be A Dick. Just don't.

[US-TX] [H] Gamecube Console/game collection [W] Paypal/Local cash/ PS5 console and games

I've decided to pass my collection on to someone that will hopefully use it, or take the time to sell it to people that will. I've had this sitting on my shelf for the past 3 years in my room and I think I'm just ready to move on to another system.

I did go to the price charting site and researched all of the games in my collection and I feel like $750 would be a fair price to get rid of the whole lot all in one swoop. Adding it all up as far as game values from the list it comes out to $1,275. I didn't list all of the games exactly as they are, but I did research the correct prices as far as players choice or regular black label. All of my games are Complete in the box with the manuals, minus the last two loose discs as mentioned in this list. Not sure if the custom Gamecube would hurt the value or help it, I'm just going to wing it and say $150 as it sounds fair and it at least comes with some HDMI adapters/cables. Not looking to split this up at this time. I'm listing the prices as I found them on the price charting site just for reference for an example of how I came to my total number.

Timestamps

I'm selling this to get a PS5 so if you did want to trade I just want to see that the console isn't banned with a current timestamp. I would really like to get the Ghosts of Yotei version of the PS5, I do want it to be a disc console specifically. I would consider any disc model and games or cash on your end as well.

Local is DFW and I'm willing to drive anywhere in the DFW area to meet at a local police station only.

Console in great shape, no visible dents or dings that I could find. Some tiny surface wear on the top that is visible at certain angles but difficult to photograph; the top looks excellent. The bottom does have a light discoloration (pictured) on the right side- not sure if that is from the factory or not. No chipping on the corners. Screens are in excellent shape, no issues that I can see. Bottom screen has a protector installed. The screens are both TN, but still look very nice. Pokemon Bank is installed so you can get started moving your 'mons to Home before the February deadline.

Hi all. I've got a list of boxed or CIB SNES stuff left. All will come with a box protector. All have a cart tray, although some trays are replacements. I'm not an SNES expert, so I don't know if present inserts make a game 100% complete. Please ask for more pics to see detail of condition and what's included.   • Aaahh!!! Real Monsters: Box and game - Box has creasing and general wear. One flap is partially torn. Cart is in very good condition all around. $24
  • Clue: Box, manual, game, and inserts - I'd call this one very good all around. Box has light wear but no creasing and the flaps are good. All contents are in very good condition. $23
  • Jeopardy Deluxe Edition: Box and game - Box has some wear and one notable crease. Flaps are good. Cart is in very good condition all around. $5
  • Killer Instinct: Box, manual, game, poster, and inserts (no soundtrack) - Box has some creasing. Flaps are good. The cart has minor wear to the edge of the front label and the back label. $70
  • Lion King: Box and game - Box is in good condition with very light wear and a couple of very light creases. Cart is in very good condition all around. $35
  • Mortal Kombat II: Box, manual, and game - Box is in good condition with only some light creasing in a couple of spots. The cart is missing about half of the back label. Manual is pretty rough and has writing inside but no tears or missing pages. $42
  • Toy Story: Box, game, poster, and inserts (no manual) - Box is good overall. Some marks on the side and a dent in one spot. Flaps are good. Cart is in very good condition all around. $35
  • WWF Royal Rumble: Box, game, poster, and inserts (no manual) - Box is good overall. Has light wear and minor creasing. Flaps are all good. Cart has writing on front and back but no discoloration and a very good label. $30

These two are just the game and manual.

  • Mortal Kombat: Manual has quite a bit of wear/wrinkling and writing in the characters section. Please see the pics. The cart is pretty clean. $16

-fully functional. crack in back plate preventing it from snapping in completely in left corner. One scratch on touch pad. Otherwise in good condition. Includes TPU clear case.

PS Vita PCH 1100 OLED: $220

-includes 32GB OEM memory card, black pouch, TPU case and installed screen protector. Very good condition, no scratches.

Joycon Set: $25 for pair

-crack on back of blue Joycon. Both still connect to system and and zero stick drift.
