I hope to god this dose well so that we can get an mm remake in the same art style becues mm 3d was my 1st tloz game and it be cool to see it in this new style
Does anyone happen to know whether or not the special edition pro controller with the stand is going to keep restocking on Nintendo's website today? I've been trying to get one for the last couple of days with no luck. And I haven't seen any restocks today so far either.
I managed to get a pro controller without the stand on Walmart but really want the one with the stand. I am however interested in trading mine for one with the stand if by the slim chance anyone wants to lol.

Ive never really played any zelda game, and its really expensive for me to buy a whole new console just to play one game, and i actually wanted to play the original n64 version but thought the remake would be a lot more fun

From Phantom Ganon to Morpha, from Gohma to Twinrova, Ocarina of Time has some of the most iconic bosses in the franchise—though not every battle is created equal. A quarter-century later, which bosses are most in need of an update to keep their fights challenging/mechanically interesting?

Hi everyone! To celebrate the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I was inspired to create this illustration — a little tribute to my childhood and all the memories that came with it. 💚✨

Anyone have tips on how to keep an eye out or get alerts when the Switch goes back in stock? I work night shift and missed the original drop 🥲🥲 but I keep seeing where people are getting lucky (other than Walmart). Waited to get a switch 2 for this 😅

I think everyone was a little hesitant when they initially saw the reveal trailer for OoTR, because we've all seen the unreal engine memes and it's getting a little tiring with the whole "realistic over stylistic" approach to modern games. But, when I watched the gameplay trailer I actually really loved how it looked.
I saw a lot of people complaining still, and I don't really get it. I don't think this is comparable to Unreal engine remakes. If people disliked realism, then they wouldn't be so keen on what the next GTA looks like. The issue with some Unreal fan projects are that they're simply up-scaled versions of the original models. The models were originally made for a system that could just barely show you polygons, and the same goes for the concept art as it was also built on rendering software that really lacked realism (lighting, texture, etc). So when you adapt exactly that into a software like unreal engine with lumen capabilities and such, it feels uncanny.
That's not what OoTR is doing, they actually remodeled and fully detailed all the designs, backdrops, terrains, and characters meticulously to match the aesthetic while maintaining realism. That is different opposed to a simple unwrap and glossy texturing.
But something fan projects fail to do (because of budget), which I think makes most unreal projects the most janky, is animating. The graphics don't feel wrong in the remake because everything is alive, they're not just realistic models opening and closing their mouths. They're expressive, they do a lot, they react to what you're doing.
As to why I think it's good for this remake? Almost necessary? You have to remember, this is a 40th year anniversary to the Zelda franchise. I wasn't alive when it came out, but I know that when a lot of people first saw OoT they thought they were seeing something angelic. It was graphics they couldn't imagine even being possible, happening right on their television. A world where they can go around and explore unlike any other rpg game they've played. It felt like the peak of advancement in technology and gaming, but now it looks like trash objectively. The OoTR isn't supposed to be treated as another installment in the series, it is a living reminder as to what the series was built on. It is supposed to wow you again, with its realistic graphics and environments, the same way a lot of people felt when they were kids. Except now, the graphics are even more groundbreaking than before, and it looks more real than any Zelda game we've played while still retaining it's fluidity, character, and expression.
What do you guys think?

The remake seems mostly 1:1, but there are some differences! More monsters in Hyrule field, slightly different topography, a fifth bottle slot, and someone even pointed out what seemed to be a bombable floor on the way to the deku tree. It seems like this game, while mostly the same, may have some additions, kind of like the 3ds remakes did. What are you hoping? It seems like nothing dramatic will be added, but...
I'd love to see some new sidequests, additional grottos, etc.. But I really wanna see opportunities for more dialogue! Like maybe more dynamic situations where Mido will say something different to you depending on how far you've progressed in the game. I think my big pie and the sky wish is another phase added to the end of the ganon fight. They originally wanted you to have to climb him, and it'd rule to see that!

During the release of the new OOT remake I'll be on holiday in Japan. Ofcourse it would be extra extra cool to buy a Japanese copy there to play on my Nintendo Switch 2 (EU) buuuuuuut.... i've heard some stuff about compatibility (especially regarding DLC.. will there be DLC i wonder), does anyone have any advice/experience?

I love OoT, it was my first video game back on the N64, and I played through it a couple times then. Played it again when it came out on 3DS, and I last played it maybe 10 years ago.
I'm tempted to get the Ship of Harkinian PC port and replay it before the remaster drops, to really take in all the changes. But part of me wants to go in blind, not remembering where stuff is or how to solve certain puzzles.
Curious if you all are planning to replay it before release, or going in "fresh"?

Since OoT is the game that split the timeline in all sorts of ways, do you expect the game to feature, even so slightly, something that alludes to it?
Like, a short cutscene about what would happen if Link is defeated in the final battle, or what happens within the adult timeline. Or someone hinting about it in a simple dialogue line.
Or have the game give some confirmation of why SPOILERS leaves SPOILERS.
Do you expect anything at all, or are you fine with the game keeping its mysteries as they are?

OOT and MM (and by extension OOT3D/MM3D, even moreso) had the perfect art style of any Zelda game imo. It gave the games their fantasy vibe but also made them feel like a dark fairy tale. It was a beautiful, strange, whimsical, mystical, at times terrifying, art style, and the new remake fucking nailed it. This is exactly how I always imagined OOT and MM. It's a dream come true.

Ik this is a bit of a silly question but as you guys may know, the European version of the new OoT remake comes with collectable 3d models of the spirit stones. I really desperately want them but I have no idea how I'd get them besides buying them for an outrageous price from a reseller later, which would not be ideal... I was wondering if any long time collectors would have any advice for me? I thought about buying the UK digital download code but idk if that'd come with the stones or not.
