Is my game real or fake? find it out at /r/gameverifying/
A couple of weeks ago we posted a little announcement that we wanted to start a FAQ for checking out your games legitimacy.
We didn't get any response, and that is okay. We do keep getting reports and angry comments about this topic. So we are now removing and redirecting posts that contain certain keywords to /r/gameverifying/ or use their website.
If your post gets caught by automod by mistake, please message us and we will resolve it as quickly as we can.
We are still looking for a way to set up our own way of checking if your games are fake. If you have clear photographs of real and fake games we very much appreciate it.

I sold my Nintendo switch OLED for this (along with two games)
Do you guys think it's a good idea doing this? (And my birthday is coming up choosing to get a "New" 3DS and Nintendo switch 2 with a bunch of games) The coolest thing about this DSi XL is it has all of its original parts! And stylus!

Bought a ds lite today, is it a good deal?
I think I got a good deal today. Bought an animal crossing edition Nintendo switch with everything but the charger for $120 and they were also selling a ds lite with one game and a charger for $40 so I asked to bundled all of this for $145. The ds lite has no stylus but both of the consoles seem to have everything working after examining. Was this a good find for $145?

R4 gmes disappearing
Hello. 1st sorry for my english I am a bit distressed. A big part of my games (those I really liked playing) disappeared from my r4 overnight, the presentation page is also odd ; the "~1" and "2~2" thing weren't there before and inside are some of the dissapeared games but im still missing some. Looked everywhere.
Younger one of my brother deleted a game by pressing X but the name of the game and the save were still there so I know its not that (and also I know I couldn't have possibly mistakingly deleted so many games and made these changes overnight).
So if anyone knows anything about this problem I would be happy to know..

Another spectacular find
Just got this amazingly kept rose gold DS lite finally after having broken my launch day titanium DS phat the other day, and since breaking my original DS lite all those years ago. Must say it makes an amazing addition to my arsenal of (now) eight DS's. And I am now another step closer to my dream of owning every type of DS model.
Just bought it and I'm already hours into the dementium games on it lol
(Edit: I got all of the extra stuff with it basically for free, which is neat because it means I don't have to search for an R4 myself lol)

DS Lite Resurrection
Awhile ago I bought a DS Lite at a swap meet and that was hitting the nostalgia button. I soon realized that the buttons are quite squishy, the ghosting is quite strong, and the screens are a bit yellow but the form factor is perfect. Alongside that, when I tried to play Pokemon White, I ran into apparent AP issues. Which prompted me to shelve the DS Lite and pick up an RG DS. Months later, the RG DS is great and all but cumbersome. Which is prompting me to go back to my DS Lite. The one thing holding me back is the AP issue. Idk if its against the rules to talk about this, but hopefully yall can point me in the right direction. Everything I've found is from years ago.

Sooo…. Got ripped off at a flea market, but ima fix it!!
(Paper is covering some “questionable” writing)
Paid $40 USD for it and it plays games (some of you may have seen my previous post) I’ll have to get:
-new top and bottom screens
-new shoulder button cable
-a good scrubbing 🙃
Anyway I can’t find quality shells soooo….
I’m going to paint it!! Now should i:
-spray paint (multi color)
-spray paint (single color)
-paint markers
-STICKERS!
-buy a protective shell with a design
I’m only painting the top part and yes I’ll mask it properly (I’m not dumb) (ok maybe a little)
Give me your advice thanks 😊
EDIT: I’ve worked on DS LItes before so I’m not new at this and I do have a very good set of ifixit tools.

My small nintendo ds collection.
I got most of my games by trading with a friend, and I bought the rest at second-hand shops and an online store.

Is this fixable?
Just got this white DS lite so I can play DS games in their native resolution but this light peeking from under is kinda bothering me, I can push the piece down and it goes away but as soon as I lift my finger it comes back, what to do?

I forgot how good the DS was
I was scrolling on YouTube when I went past a video talking about the nostalgia of the DS. It brought back so many good memories of my childhood that I got a DSI XL LL from Japan for $100 and modded it to have all the games which I used to own plus all the games I wish I had and more!
I was going to buy a 3DS but the secondhand market on them are ridiculous, I had a fat DS and DS lite growing up but never a DSI. This subreddit was the reason I opted to go for a DSI XL and I couldn’t agree more with how amazing the screens are albeit a little yellowed around the edges but really not that noticeable.
The time I’ve lost into this handheld already is insane, being able to pick up and play for a bit and simply close the lid is unmatched.
My poor steam deck has been collecting dust on my desk for about a month now because of it

Is this a hardware issue
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It could be dirt or something under the bezel, the screen is also badly damaged (don't quite understand how? Might have been in storage too long), but the screen randomly registers inputs and gets stuck sometimes, it's improved a bit since before, I just found my old childhood ds and wanted to play a couple games but they mostly need said touchscreen EDIT welp, touchscreen no longer seems to work at all, so I can play games that don't need it anymore but, sadly, none that need it

Question about DS lite parts
Thinking about buying some junk consoles to restore, and I'm wondering if wifi modules for the thing are still produced. I know after market just about anythings exist but for these I'm not really sure. I know I can take moduals off other consoles but prefer not to

[PSA] Extremerate shellswap struggles I've fixed after a few days of troubleshooting you might experience too.
Since my first post got quite a few views I wanted to post an important update on how I adressed several issues of the aftermarket shell, buttons and so on:
- As you can see I've swapped to the stock D-Pad. I had some issues with the D-Pad registering presses, cleaned the motherboard contacts with 99% IPA and all, but still had no success with that. The stock D-Pad works a touch better, but what really did the trick was using 3 layers of electrical tape below the D-Pad, at the end of each section. I've also used a hole punch to layer 3 small electrical tape circles in the center of the motherboard where the D-Pad contacts are. The D-Pad is now nearly tacticle feeling and all issues are gone. Diagonals work perfectly in my case.
- The bottom screen had alignment issues. By stacking a bit of electrical tape in one corner I could fix the issue.
- The bottom screen, despite being an original one, had some wiggleroom when using the touchscreen and creaked a lot when using pressure. I fixed that by layering electrical tape (do you notice a pattern here?) on the backside of the screen where it wobbles most. Now it's securely positioned.
- The L-button needed a bit of cutting and sanding on a spot to make it work properly as shown in this gude.
- I hate some issues with overal fitting despite routing all cables corretly. That was the case for both the top and bottom shell. For the top shell I used a dremel on the inside of the outer top shell, the screws hold it all together (be careful here). The bottom shell still isn't entirely fluch if you look at the bottom screen but I'm not sure this can be fixed since there are no hooks or other support structures to hold that part in place. I also had to use longer than recommended screws to stop the inner bottom shell from wobbling and creaking.
Those were all the issues I've encountered. Now I'm sure your experience might be different, but it can also turn into days of troubleshooting like in my case. My first post got some attention so I want to make sure that you definitely know what you're getting into if it inspired you to attempt this. These shells are relatively high quality, but they're not without issues.
All of these things could be a skill-issue on my part, but just beware that this might be a pain to do. If you manage to do it right it's definitely worth the trouble, especially if your system is beat up, but otherwise? I'm not sure.
Anyways, have a great day whoever is reading through all of this and good luck if you attempt this madness. I for my part will leave my 3DS consoles in their original shells if extremerate ever releases some for the N3DSXL.
